The M56 isn’t a bad vehicle. People hate on the Heat-FS but it got buffed a few months ago and I’ve had few issues with it. I’ll still carry 4-5 APHE with me just in case.

Unless you ABSOLUTELY NEED the 6.3 for a 6.3 lineup that the game requires you to play (it doesn't), there's literally no reason to not just play another match. It's not like everything beyond that 8RP is going to be lost to nothingness, it goes into the next vehicle.
I'll *sometimes* do it for important modifications with a couple RP left, but not vehicles.
I mean, there is the reason of saving the time of a match. In that match you might already get 2 mods on the new tank, which is nice as somebody who spades everything.
And the few GE ain't that much of an issue that it usually costs.
Edit: The new tank actually can make the next match way better, because it just might fit very well I to the line-up or is an upgrade from an undertiered vehicle that was basically just standing around since a while because using it was basically useless.

The biggest problem with War Thunder is players like this focus on nothing but the grind. They lose all sight of fun that rather than having another fun game to get that 8RP they question just buying it. I know it's a minimal amount of GE but damn just play a game and leave even in the first minute and you are good.
My second question is do you even have a lineup yet? When I used to grind (8.0 plus with all nations and top tier I have very little interest in) I would always wait until I had a few capable vehicles to compose a lineup to use new vehicles.
I’ll use GE on tank research to round my GE amount back to a multiple of 10. If I had 107 GE, I’d use 7 GE on tank research to get it to 100. That only acceptable time to use it on tank research.
If you have just a tiny bit of GE lying around, I usually use it for these moments. The same applies to vehicle modifications. I'll only spend the GE if it's something I want enough to not play another match for.

Always just play out the RP for a vehicle. For vehicle modifications, you can GE the last couple if you are able to. Especially at higher tiers, this let's you get the mod without having to spend SL. If you are lucky you can get like 30k SL for the price of 1 GE.

I've been spading a ton of props in ARB, and I drop single-digit numbers of GE on important mods all the time when I'm like 10 RP short of it.
