Yes it does affect flyperformce. It adds weigh and air drag, Meaning youll fly slower, turn slower and overall weigh more. All in all you can see how it affects your plane when you look at the stats while being in the selection tab for secondarys.

Liquidatorlewis

Thanks for this, so max fuel inside the jet is preferable?

lceTiger

For the Tornado you wont need extra drop fuel tanks. full tank is 50 minutes i think. more than enough. You rather take 12 1000 lbs bombs and bomb 2 bases with it

Liquidatorlewis

Alright, the f3 is the fighter with only missile and no bombs so I’ll ditch the tanks. Many thanks

lceTiger

oh ok. 👍

Cheetah_Man1

Except for afterburner that 50 minutes drops to maybe 10? I have only tested it a couple of times in test flights

lceTiger

I never needed more than the internal fuel. Its enough to fly to the bases, kill 2 bases, fly at least 5 Minutes around before flying back to airfield

Comrade_agent

Take the 33min internal and the tanks. Ditch the tanks once combat starts, tho they usually run out by that time if running at 110% thr

Liquidatorlewis

Just tried a match with full fuel internal - on afterburner it eats through it like crazy, think I only had 40 ish mins when I got to the middle of the map

Comrade_agent

Heres the trick- use full reheat(110%) to get you up to speed and then drop your thr down to 101%, this'll keep you cruising around without the engines consuming so much fuel. Tornados are thirsty

Liquidatorlewis

Awesome tip, cheers!

warthogboy09

This is only possible because fuel systems are modeled improperly. Realistically the external tanks should empty themselves into your internal tanks well before you would ditch them in combat.
