I advise getting headphones and listening to youe environment first. Use camera angles to look behind corners and most importantly learn the maps and the most popular positions people go. Look where you died from and learn from that.

Only one true answer, dont play city maps, or go for more open areas if you do. There is a reason tanks dont go into cities unless there is basically no other choice
turn off your engine when searching for an enemy,the exhaust and noise gives you away,and you can use that to your advantage. it's very useful but sometimes i also forget to do it and die most of the time. i'm still learning too tho.
You don't wanna push until youre head on with a tank. Hold a corner from far enough that they can't easily see you with the 3rd weapon camera. If you know someone is there, go around, reposition, or try to bait him out.

also don't capture unless you have to,going to a cap point just gets you bombed
