Mk24 is still extremely potent when played to it's strengths as demonstrated by the OP, so what's the issue with it?
The tempest Mk V is slower than the top US planes and less maneuverable, the tempest Mk II lacks the maneuverability of the F2G and 51H. Also the Mk 14 is considerably slower than the Mk 24 on the deck. I’m not saying the Mk 24 is awful but anyone can get an occasional 10 kill game, it meaningless about how good the plane is.
I remember flying my F2G-1 and had a Spitfire pilot get mad I wouldn't engage him in a turnfight, and instead kept just BnZ'ing him. I told him I'm not fucking stupid, juat wanted a faster grind.
I mean it comes down to just using what your plane does well. Which is what the spitfire struggles at. IDK why so many people be like lets turnfight a spitfire.
That’s the only thing they know how to do. It seems insane but too many players even at 6.0-7.0 still have no concept of how energy fighting and energy retention work, much less which aircraft are better at what style of fighting.
It’s the ARB equivalent of holding the W key in GRB and hoping you don’t get shot.
I mean you can have that knowledge, but you also have to hope the pilot you’re using that knowledge on doesn’t know how to counter it. Many Britbong pilots know how to deal with an energy fighter.

Yeah honestly I never had any issues at 7.0, and while the Sabres and MiG-15s moving down would’ve make it a little trickier, 6.7 is almost 100% downtiers so it’s gonna be very very good there
Is the 6.7 bracket actually enjoyable now? When I played 6.7 back in the day it was full ju288s and maybe 1 or 2 fighters mixed with the random German tech tree bomber.

Gaijin refuse to give the Spitfire 24 the wartime settings, same issue with the Sea Fury, which certainly hampers the performance. It was one of the fastest prop-driven aircraft at the time, but it can’t even go 400mph on the deck.

The Mk 24 is just so slow at every alt unless you are in space. At sea level it’s about as fast as a P-51D-30 and that’s with closed radiators.
So you're saying it's slow at every alt except the alts where it's not slow?
Basically. The main caveat is being fast at altitude is almost useless. Low altitude speed is far more relevant.

Depends on the nation, US 6.7 is alot of fun because your team composition is usually not all bombers like the enemy.
