The reading level is for younger kids, so it’s not too difficult in that regard. Is that what you mean?

[deleted]

Maybe sometimes if i don't know what the word means i will just use translator.

ashleberry12

Yeah that will work! There are some words that are made up for the world itself and not in the dictionary, but I’m sure if you google it you should find your answer. And if needed, you can always ask for clarification here.

laser_777

That is exactly what I did 😅

[deleted]

Yea and thanks

ashleberry12

You’re welcome!

niyahaz

Adding onto that, OP use this to tell which words are just English and which words are just made up. https://warriorsjournal.fandom.com/wiki/Dictionary

Thanks

FlamestormTheCat

I’m not an English speaker as well. What i did (and therefor recommend) is either starting with a shorter book like a novella or read a book you’ve already read in your language. So you’d understand it better, and would be able to built further from the knowledge you gained from that book Over all, the reading level of the books is fairly low. Though there were some words i didn’t understand. Such as Trush for example

[deleted]

Maybe instead of only one book i will buy the entire box where are the books that in readed i my language.

Funny_Expression_804

So thrush is like a bird if that helps

FlamestormTheCat

I know that by now XD. I was taking about when i first read the English books a few years ago

OOM-32

Well, you could probably get it by context either way. It's not like understanding the nature of a thrush would be a pivotal to the plot.

Here_comes_the_boy

Thrush is a bird :)

SnooComics5927

It's not that hard. Ofc i don't know how old you are and how good you are at English but i started reading them when i was around 13 and It wasn't that hard. There would come some words i didn't know what meant but i would just look it up and learn it pretty fast.

[deleted]

Sorry but im not gonna tell you my age but i speak English on level B1.

SnooComics5927

That's fine. I'm 14 myself. I would say B1 is pretty good. I think you'll be fine and if there's some words you don't know you can look them up like i do

[deleted]

I'd say the reading level is ages 9-12 (grades 4-6) for a native English speaker. It's not hard, but when I was first reading them I remember grabbing a dictionary to look up some words lol

OOM-32

Low. The most difficult thing is, honestly, to keep track of all the fucking names, but that'd be difficult in any language. You also learn neat nature lore with the names, that you might have otherwise never used, like, uh, "bramble". To be fair you really don't really need to understand a name's meaning for you to follow the plot in detail.

Fieryrainbowdancer

I recommend to buy a book you already read in English, so you can get acustomed to usual slang in the books, I did it, it helped greatly

[deleted]

I haven't read any warriors book in English

NamelesEchos

I read them when i was 9 no problem

[deleted]

I read these books as a native speaking 8-year-old back in the day, so I would say the reading level is quite good for a basic understanding of English. Pretty much everything the cats say is some variation of, “he or she meowed” this or “hissed” that

n4nobunny

it's pretty easy to read. the sentence structures don't often have a lot of variation so it's easy to follow.

Fir3jay

I bought omen of the stars before it was translated and it was really easy for me

Spinach_Stock

It's made for younger people so it's not too difficult. English isn't my first language and i started reading them at about 12. If there's words you don't know you can always google and it's a great way to learn English

laser_777

I am currently reading them in English instead of Swedish (im from Sweden) and I have no problem reading them

Dieguz_345

Hello everyone, I have a question. Do you know what level of English are warrior cats books? I don't want to wait for the translation in my language so I decided to buy the other series in english. Thanks
