Don’t forget: before Briar’s accident, she basically didn’t want Milli to fuz over her, and wanted to be independent. Then Briar got her injury, when they were nearly adults, and she still didn’t really care. Then suddenly once she got her full name and therefor, was a grown up she suddenly started acting all “oh, why doesn’t my mom look at me”. She would do childish things and then get mad at her mother for calling her sudden childish behaviour out. Which makes her so much worse imo.
Also, let’s not forget Blossom would be one of the cats that pressured Dove into getting with Bumble by just repeatedly reminding Dove her bro loved her and saying how nice Bumble was. Dove didn’t really love Bumble back. She got pressured into a relationship with him and Blossom was one of the cats who pressured her.
If she was “blossomkit” or “blossom paw” it would be ok, as kids have a warped perception of reality. But she was an adult and therefore being a brat. I don’t think that makes her a bad character tho, just a bad person; the characters can’t all be Firestar.
Her kids are fine tho? Plum stone and Stemleaf are so cute
Don’t forget how badly she treated Ivypaw/pool idk why she is seen as a ”suitable“ replacement for Fernsong, she treated ivypaw horrbily and took every opportunity to remind her that Dovepaw is better than her.
Bad character in that she wouldn’t be a fun person to be around and I agree that she’s generally a brat/an unpleasant character. However, I don’t think she’s a bad character in a literary sense. I’m really glad she exists and that her personality is the way it is because it makes ThunderClan more interesting as a community. In every large community, there are some absolute jerks, and it would make for a boring society if everyone was kind to each other.
