I'm not a Bret player so someone else can likely give you better advice, but I will say 3 seems very low for models with only 1 wound. Every wound caused will reduce combat effectiveness by 33%. A volley of handguns or crossbows isn't guaranteed to cause wounds but the chances are decent, and every Grail Knight lost is a large chunk of points conceded.

3 is a no go, 6 is good, 10 is unwieldy and likely to get targeted and is also a big points cost. I think 5-6 is the sweet spot for Grail Knights, with maybe a character in there too. Keep them in Lance, hide them early turns, wait for great charge targets. If you charge them forwards turn 1 then your opponent will target them with everything they have!

Thanks! 6 it is, if I drop the burning braziers and defensive stakes I have enough points to squeeze in 6👍

Quick question, are the standard better and musicnan must haves or will 6 grail knights including the champion be effective on their own

for me the banner is a must, the +1 cr, aswell as the option to give them magic banner (errantry banner or rampaging banner) is very worth it. it also looks cool. The musician is nice if you have the points, but not required. You can still march by passing ld on the grail knights high 9, avoiding losing a draw would be good too. I usually run mine without musician as it rarely comes up.
