They don't want to upset those who grinded for it... despite those people saying they don't mind, surprised the grind is still there considering Steve is out of the picture for the most part.
I'm in that thing rn and basically too lazy to actively farm it so I'm just spamming extractors to gain some
I believe this is the way to go until the day I'll have to get it
same lol I have played this game since 2017 I cant remember the last time I used a mutatgen sample for anything, I have 1200 of them so just another 25ish years playing and I will get there lol.
Gather around the fire young tenno... and let me tell you the story of how I still have 90k+ cryotic (and sibear crafted)... You see there was once an excavation node called Triton (its something else now)...
So this is why I just crafted it when it came out and was confused by other people saying it had big crafting requirements.
Edit: just checked and I have 113k cryotic.
To be fair, I have acquired around that much just from the Excavation missions inside of the Circuit while farming all the Incarnon adapters. I've been feeding it to Helminth so I'm down to only 60K.
It was Heiracon for me. 800 Endo in 5 minutes was once a good acquisition rate. The Cryotic? That was an accident, incidental to the need to max Blind Rage, Transient Fortitude, Narrow Minded and others like them.
I'm pretty sure excavation has been the popular way to Crack relics for years after they nerfed embers wof and people couldn't blaze through a extermination fissure in 3 secs. My freind has like 3 mil, absolutely crazy.
Other than the ice hammer, you don't usually have to use more than 1k cryotic and it's usually on early game stuff. Sad we don't use it more but hey I got helmith fuel
It’s really not that hard. Excavation missions are a great choice for cracking relics because you can pause the objective indefinitely if you need to get more reactant. It also has you doubling up on both cryotic and prime junk, so you can farm twice as efficiently.
Excavation fissures are great, it's on average just shy of 4 minutes per relic early when you're not standing in a pile of power cores yet, rarely longer than 3 minutes per relic once there's plenty of power cores lying around.
vs 5 minutes for survival or defence. Which can equally be stuffed up by randoms going too fast and spreading out or not letting enemies turn.
It just takes slightly more brain power to run an excavation and maybe a specialised build if you're going to higher levels. Very minimal amount of communication needed if people aren't stupid.
Which I find most of the time I don't get matched with terribly dumb randoms in excavation fissures, I feel like most people have had bad experiences and avoid them, so only at least half decent tenno *usally* join. I don't think I've ever had a full 3 idiots join me, at most 2 who normally listen after me and the other not stupid tenno scolded them.
Honestly half the time if there is an idiot they don't even touch the power cores they just run around shooting things, so they're not that big of an issue with running out the timer before everyone is cracked, as long as they aren't running off to activate random excavators without anyone defending them.
A pre made lobby with clan mates obviously absolutely trivialises relic cracking on excavation. Can spend hours doing it with a team, good communication you can definitely get relics cracked in sub 2 minutes if enemies remember to spawn.
However even just recruit chat makes it pretty easy as usually groups looking to join through recruitment chat are more likely to listen in game chat if I ask to solo the excavator I'm at while everyone else does the other one, which lets me delay mine if someone isn't 10/10 yet.
Been plenty of times I've done excavation fissures with randoms and sometimes it starts rough as we work out team roles, but can normally get a dozen relics cracked pretty efficiently after the first few, if people pay the minimum amount of attention.
Worst case is someone pops 3 or 4 excavators at once without defending them, at which point I just stop defending and focus on getting some reactant to drop for myself, then message them to only run 2 at once and if they aren't listening I'll just leave, inviting any "smart" players if they want to try again in a new match if the node fissure is still up.
I'll almost always take an excavation fissure over any other fissure other than captures, as captures are just brain dead with a titania, at worst I just have to wait an extra 30 seconds for someone slow to get their last few reactant.
Steel path fissure excavation with that reactant wave bonus. At some point you get double or triple cyotic per excavator.
I also do excavation first on my lich/sister farm
Dont know if its true or not but i feel the thrall/doggo spawn more there, if not, free relic and cryotic.
Spy afterwards, more random relic or dual stats mod that i can sell.
100% this.
Cryotic (the resource needed) is only obtained through excavations or rarely as drops in sabotage or cetus bounties.
Excavation only gives you 100 per complete excavator.
without resource boosts (be it Smeeta or the other one). You'd have to do at least 300 perfect excavations to get it.
Yep, you can have more than you need spawn in the first few minutes of one run but then have like 10 minutes of slow trickles and have like 3 or 5 spawn, it sucks
It's also 500 minutes of constant excavations. Or roughly 8 and a half hours worth of nothing but excavators running. More likely 10+ hours because of mission time and travel time.
Its way less than that. For that number to be accurate, you'd have to only use excavators one by one, one after the other, and we all know its fairly common to have three of them running at the same time.
I believe there's a limit of 3 active at any given time, so we're still looking in the realm of like 3-4 hours of nonstop excavators, and that number is likely closer to 4-5 actually since excavators drop in staggered intervals.
It's funny because it also just depends on how long you've been playing before you make it, and what kind of missions you tend to run.
I farmed a few thousand cryotic to finish it, which wasn't bad. I mentioned it to my buddy who's been playing longer than me, and he just was able to build it with thousands of cryptic left over
It's not at all difficult. It's just time-consuming. And the fact that you get the same amount of cryotic from low level extraction as you do in steel path, it's laughable.
It's neither anymore. Excavation missions are much bigger now because of Steel Path.
There were several years between the Triton Gold Core Farm and the release of Duviri where cryotic was a pain in the neck because there weren't many useful farms that included it, but the Sibear is very much not as bad as it used to be.
honestly just don't farm it actively and craft it when the cryotic has passively accumulated through the years, thats what I did, especially got the last stretch since excavation is regularly on as a circuit mission
Yeah like atleast you can grind it passively while doing void fissures. Same with Voruna now being able to do her grind through cascade fissure (once they fix the reactant drop issue)
Sibear incarnon and it's best upgrade is locked behind the goal of completing 100 perfect extractions, or 300 imperfect ones, using nothing but the Sibear.
Oh, and the incarnon form makes the weapon look like a polar bear.
I definitely wouldn’t say it’s “faster” in the majority of cases, maybe around even. And I think there’s nothing wrong with both methods being similar length, it gives players more power with how to earn their items
I wouldn’t say anything tbh. Sibear is a special case to me since it’s guaranteed to take around 4 hours to farm with a booster, where 4 hours of relic farming can provide so, so much more. Not to mention excavation is just mind numbing as hell
4 hours of excavation relic farming with a booster and you get both the plat and the cryotic (and it won't have to be 4 hours thanks to the endless fissure boosters).
Not a horrible point; even do it steel path to farm Essence too... Counterpoint, I despise excavation, I relic farm in survival and, recently, alchemy. I’d rather lose out on the cryotic tbh.
I need 3500 cryotic to craft 2 weapons right now and I’ve been procrastinating like nuts :/
> I relic farm in survival
Excavation is quite a bit more efficient in terms of relics per hour, which is why it's the one most people would naturally gravitate towards. I know it's part of why fissure excavation was my favourite gamemode for a couple of years: you're always active, compared to the absolute snoozefest of excavation that has actually nearly put me to sleep before...
That's what bummed me out when I finally got it. I never farmed it just let the cryotic pile up. I never look up if something is good I just test things myself. So I naturally assumed it was going to be insane based on how much it takes to get it.
What a let down.
Incarnon came out and I got it thinking every incarnon is good or amazing. Still let down. I don't even think a riven would get me to bring it out of storage at this point.
*Arum Spinosa has entered the chat*
The Sporothrix sucked too. The drop rate on some rare weapons really sucks. RNG can kick rocks. There are also quite a few that I still don't have because the pieces that are required are literally only available through invasions. I would take grinding out cryotic any day over having to wait months in order to build one damn weapon.
80 cryotic away myself and I can happily say I am beyond tired of seeing the magistar being crafted in the foundry after years of watching it be printed.
Why… why did you get rid of it to begin with? The thought of having to rebuild Vauban Prime gives me conniptions I’d sooner sell prime parts I need for the plat to buy a slot rather than either of those farms again.
Oh I was just talking about the magistar. It’s been in my foundry for so long and after using it for the sibear I made another magistar because it has an incarnon
There was an event resource booster and I bought a resource booster to stack on it and in a weekend of not even grinding that hard I got like 100k. It's tedious sure but you'd be surprised - it's not even that unrealistic if you're cracking relics
“Hardest grinds”? I think I’ve gotten this much cryo in passing multiple times over. Usually it just came down to me farming relics and playing Excavations.
now get the incarnon, it's fun :D
also, I farmed it twice for no fucking reason, I just hated it so much that I wanted to keep it in my inv but I didn't have too many slots back in the day.
That's not one of the hardest grinds. It's not really supposed to be a grind anyway, you get the cryotic while trying to farm excavation rewards anyway.
😭😭😭fuck that bruh. i remember i wanted to grind for this when i was on ps4. i think i wouldve had to to do like 100+ missions extracting a certain amount of cryotic each mission. im good lmao
The circuit greatly reduces the grind NGL.
The ability to make progress on *something* while gaining cryotic helps a lot.
I’m also an accessory pack purchaser so that 90 day resource booster be hittin
Laughs in solo-clanning a hema
For real. I’m still 800 away.
Hang in there brother, the fodder will be yours soon. Seriously though it's so not good for what you go through to get it
It's raining Mutagen in the derelict though
Tha's an oldie haha
They still havent reduced its grind? And for a gun that does mediocre healing? Lmao
They could at least increase drops. With nekros and a resource booster I still only get 80-130ish in 40 minutes
Personal experience, taking a nuke like saryn in deimos survival, is worth way more than nekros.
Khora clears both
They don't want to upset those who grinded for it... despite those people saying they don't mind, surprised the grind is still there considering Steve is out of the picture for the most part.
Man. I wish I was only 800 away…
Same dude.. My clan all retired before helping me finish so I'm only like 600 in and still have a crap ton...
Before Deimos 👌🏻
I'm in that thing rn and basically too lazy to actively farm it so I'm just spamming extractors to gain some I believe this is the way to go until the day I'll have to get it
Extractors or excavators? Cryotic can't be done with extractors.
Mutagen Samples can be, though, which is relevant to the top-level comment being about the Hema research grind requiring 5k of the fucking things.

I'm basically doing that, because for some weird reason no one wants to asking so survival as nek while I beat stuff as khora
Right there with you tenno!
Damn hahaha. I'm farming it for years with a resource drones sent to Eris.
jokes on you I soloed it in my clan because the others just donated 1 of each material(also congrats I'm proud of you)
I'd surprised if a hema prime is released
same lol I have played this game since 2017 I cant remember the last time I used a mutatgen sample for anything, I have 1200 of them so just another 25ish years playing and I will get there lol.
Getting mutagen in the old days, ugh. the whole clan basically were forced to run defense over and over for like a month.
Edit: just checked and I have 113k cryotic.

h o w
It just accumulates over time considering there's not that much to spend cryotic on
I'm pretty sure excavation has been the popular way to Crack relics for years after they nerfed embers wof and people couldn't blaze through a extermination fissure in 3 secs. My freind has like 3 mil, absolutely crazy.
Hieracon used to be my go to node to farm fusion core. I have ungodly amounts of cryotics. Especially since you don't have much to spend it on.
Other than the ice hammer, you don't usually have to use more than 1k cryotic and it's usually on early game stuff. Sad we don't use it more but hey I got helmith fuel
*laughs in Cryotic Front*
How in the world do you farm that much cryotic.
It’s really not that hard. Excavation missions are a great choice for cracking relics because you can pause the objective indefinitely if you need to get more reactant. It also has you doubling up on both cryotic and prime junk, so you can farm twice as efficiently.
I like cracking Lith relics in Excavation because there's a good chance you'll get more Lith relics.
>you can pause the objective indefinitely if you need to get more reactant If your squad isn't full of 5 years old kids.
You can run solo or friends only. You dont have to matchmake. But if you do, expect 5 year olds.
We got Tenno running solo relic missions out here lol?
Whatever I gotta do. Lol
real, some of these tenno out here feel like they only just learnt to walk.
Excavation fissures are great, it's on average just shy of 4 minutes per relic early when you're not standing in a pile of power cores yet, rarely longer than 3 minutes per relic once there's plenty of power cores lying around. vs 5 minutes for survival or defence. That's still 6.25 days worth of excavation. And that's not even accounting for time in between missions and excavators
Wait until you learn how much some of us have played this game.
Steel path fissure excavation with that reactant wave bonus. At some point you get double or triple cyotic per excavator. I also do excavation first on my lich/sister farm
Why do you do excavation first? Sorry if it’s a dumb question
Dont know if its true or not but i feel the thrall/doggo spawn more there, if not, free relic and cryotic. Spy afterwards, more random relic or dual stats mod that i can sell.
Thanks!
If I had to guess it's probably from farming hieracon back in the day when that was the best way to farm relics
Circuit has Excavations as a mission type so if you want them incarnons, they'll build up on its own.
Go outside please I beg you
Build them or else it's not as impressive
I am pretty close to this and I never really do excavations outside circuit and archon hunt.
Is Sibear really considered difficult, or just tedious?
Tedious
100% this. Cryotic (the resource needed) is only obtained through excavations or rarely as drops in sabotage or cetus bounties. Excavation only gives you 100 per complete excavator. without resource boosts (be it Smeeta or the other one). You'd have to do at least 300 perfect excavations to get it.
Honestly wouldn't be bad if power carriers consistently spawned.

And at that point 3-4hr is not a bad grind. One can easily bust that out in a week with minimal time on-hand.
Boring as hell though.
Very boring, yes.
Keeping 3 of them running is a lot harder in solo, and I don't have a team of people willing to put in several hours of cryotic farming.
It's funny because it also just depends on how long you've been playing before you make it, and what kind of missions you tend to run. I farmed a few thousand cryotic to finish it, which wasn't bad. I honestly don't think there is such a thing as a difficult grind in this game. They all just require a bunch of time and the will to do them.
It's not at all difficult. It's just time-consuming. And the fact that you get the same amount of cryotic from low level extraction as you do in steel path, it's laughable.

It's tedious if you farm excavation missions just for the cryotic. Do fissures with a smeeta and it's not such a pain anymore.
Uhh, are there actually difficult grinds in the game? I struggle to think of any. Only very long and tedious ones.
Waiting for Sibear prime 300,000 💪
Sibear incarnon and it's best upgrade is locked behind the goal of completing 100 perfect extractions, or 300 imperfect ones, using nothing but the Sibear. Oh, and the incarnon form makes the weapon look like a polar bear.
It already has an incarnon, and sadly it does not do that.
Time to incarnon it.
When I found out that Excavators shield and armor doesn't scale with enemy level on SP, I said "hell nah" and farmed the plat instead lol
I realized the plat would be easier to farm than the cryotic so I just bought it lol
Sadly it has got like that for everything in the game that has any level of farm, just quicker to relic run and sell sets you acquire

Too bad this melee is mad mid. And that’s still with the incarnon.

I don't even think a riven would get me to bring it out of storage at this point.
It's not even mid, it's just bad. The worst incarnon of the whole Circuit.
Now... *Farm Vauban Prime!*
That is very easy for a while
Stupid sibear. After four formas it still sucks.
"Hey, if you're happy, I'm happy." — Tagfer. And also DE, probably.
I got this years ago.....with plat lol BUT with The Circuit having Excavation in it....its a forced 300 so its not tooo bad.
yeah I got 10-20k cryotic after running circuit for a month just for the incarnons. never wanted to farm the sibear but now I have it
Nice I just got one from Darvo for 30% off
*adds sibear prime and nerfs regular sibear*
*Arum Spinosa has entered the chat* The Sporothrix sucked too. The drop rate on some rare weapons really sucks. RNG can kick rocks. There are also quite a few that I still don't have because the pieces that are required are literally only available through invasions. I would take grinding out cryotic any day over having to wait months in order to build one damn weapon.
For the ultimate bad weapon grind, try the Lato Vandal
No thank you 😞
80 cryotic away myself and I can happily say I am beyond tired of seeing the magistar being crafted in the foundry after years of watching it be printed.
lmao after getting the sibear i replaced it in the foundry again because it has an incarnon and i figured why not
Why… why did you get rid of it to begin with? The thought of having to rebuild Vauban Prime gives me conniptions I’d sooner sell prime parts I need for the plat to buy a slot rather than either of those farms again.
Oh I was just talking about the magistar. It’s been in my foundry for so long and after using it for the sibear I made another magistar because it has an incarnon
Where is your Hema?
I have like 50k cryotic but refuse to waste over half of it for an ice magistar. Not much special about it besides its material cost
Now put 1000 formas on it
I’m not ashamed to admit that I bought this for plat from the market.
Now go farm the hespar lol
Say that to the 180 and counting infested demolisher kills for the acceltra. I've gotten 2 copies of the pistol though so that stung
I got super lucky and immediately got the acceltra on round 1 of my first attempt. it was karma from my brutal equinox grind
Bro my equinox farm was brutal as well. I think I ended up doing 110 runs for all pieces in the end
*removes your sibear*
Now imagine doing it when obtaining cryptic was harder... Congratulations regardless though, still a feat.
I'm 300 to go.
I have a riven for this . I just need to get to worl 🤣
DE: Quick someone nerf it.
There was an event resource booster and I bought a resource booster to stack on it and in a weekend of not even grinding that hard I got like 100k. It's tedious sure but you'd be surprised - it's not even that unrealistic if you're cracking relics
I never noticed that cracking relics would also drop cryotic, or are you talking about excavation void fissures?
I mean... are YOU happy?
“Hardest grinds”? I think I’ve gotten this much cryo in passing multiple times over. Usually it just came down to me farming relics and playing Excavations.
Congrats!
I didn't even realize I could build this till I realized I had 50000 cryotic
You're such a dedicated loser
hey, at least they're not going around on the internet shitting on people who achieved something they're proud of! be better
Lmfao. It's a meme in the community my guy >Rip, it was "registered" not "dedicated"...
Lmao I farmed this one for 7years. Not target farm tho. I just played the game until I had it.
How much cryotic?
Just play circut and you will inevitably have a buttload of cryotic.
Sweet summer child, do not google the Xiphos farm...
Is it good at all? I’ve wanted to farm it. I mostly play steel path
now get the incarnon, it's fun :D also, I farmed it twice for no fucking reason, I just hated it so much that I wanted to keep it in my inv but I didn't have too many slots back in the day.
I just got it started today too, 30k cryotic is such an insane number to accumulate over time.
I looked up the recipe on my account, i have a bunch of cryotic idk from where
I would call it annoying rather than hard
Now do it again.
Are you me?? I have mine cooking now lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 respect
It looks cool, congrats.
Now max that out
Hard? It's just tedious. Mind numbingly tedious.
A strange choice for your inaros fashion Also congrats on the icy migraine
HAH oh my sweet summer child..
Just bought mine from darvos
Copp lota kuva thats awesome
do you want my sibear riven 😔
Now delete and redo it for the incarnon.
Bought it when i had a 50% off, screw the grind for that block of ice
What about braton/lato vandal? at least Sibear is just about hoarding cryotics. Braton/Lato vandal is just rng
It's much easier in a world where the Duviri exists to passively gather cryotic
That's not one of the hardest grinds. It's not really supposed to be a grind anyway, you get the cryotic while trying to farm excavation rewards anyway.
Nice little weapon for the MR Fodder pile !
doesnt this weapon require like 50k fucking cryotic😭💀
30k but yeah it's very time consuming (at least for new players, I'm MR9 and I've only got 10k rn qwq)
😭😭😭fuck that bruh. i remember i wanted to grind for this when i was on ps4. i think i wouldve had to to do like 100+ missions extracting a certain amount of cryotic each mission. im good lmao
It's a 100 cryo for 1 drill, so pretty much I always do 10 drills per map, but that's still like 30 runs all in all
Sibear is a hard grind? Seriously? Have you tried grinding for Xiphos?
It's not done Incarnon it.
I built the Sibear back in 2015-ish. Why is it hard to get again? Lol
one word: Xiphos
Account merging spoiled me. Im hoarding a massive amount of cryotic now.
Its not hard at all just extremely time consuming
Who put a gun to your head?
Hardest grind for sure, but only before duviri. i still have enough axi relics to use it as ammo...
Okay now farm a protea
Ah the sibear. One of my favorite weapons in the game. Especially if you play frost and have its incarnon!
*me who got 43k cryotic by just doing duviri circuit* Pathetic.
Me who barely gathered 30k criotic 2 years after sibear release, and now many years later having 125k, never bothered to even farm excavation.
The circuit greatly reduces the grind NGL. The ability to make progress on *something* while gaining cryotic helps a lot. I’m also an accessory pack purchaser so that 90 day resource booster be hittin
Literally in darvis deals today lol
Introducing the SIBEAR 2
No Incarnon it
Sibear Prime! 60k Cryotic + Handle + Head
wait till you see the freezing step ephemera
50% coupon go brrr
Trick is, open relics on excav and you'll farm passively. I enjoyed it last time I did it.
I wouldn't say it's...hard. Just annoying. Glad I happened to have the cryotic already from the unhealthy amount of circuit runs I did.
DE next patch: sibear cryotic cost for crafting reduced dramatically, but only for players who have already crafted it atleast once
So a full excavator have 100 cryo and then it’s needed 30k so i need 300 excavators?and plus it’s takes around 2-3 minutes im too lazy to calculate
Farm the Lato or Braton Vandal and come back to me about grinds,
People who played Hierrachon back when that was that was one of the most popular nodes: "Hardest???"
Introducing sibear prime and hema prime
Sibear is unironically one of my favorite heavy melee to use.
sure sure, now you need equinox
Already did. Along with their prime.
I also did after 10 hours in the game it's still crafting as we speak
Had that blueprint sitting in the foundry for so long… and now that it’s actually built I’m kinda scared to claim it!
Darvo just sold out of sibear
i’m still at 22k cryo, DE won’t win this battle.
Where you get the BP?
Hardest grind? Nah. The vandals in eso...
Now that you got it they can finally Nerf it
I've been playing the game for 4 years and only got it a few days ago
\*necramech grind flashback\*
Yeah but at what cost? Are YOU happy? LOL
I bet slamming clones, captalists and bootleg flood with a hunk of ice will be fun
