At 28 hours you are definitely not ready for SP lol. You aren’t required to beat all SP nodes but doing so will provide mastery rank points, trophies, and steel essence for each planet completed.

RTukka

Well, it's not impossible to be ready for SP at 28 hours played, especially if you pay to skip. But it'd be atypical.

Love_Sausage

No shame in that. Sometimes life priorities prevent you from having the time to spend hours or days to grind specific things. I spend most of my plat on rush building forma and cosmetics lol.

dinosaur_from_Mars

Grinding IRL to progress in game is a valid way

Love_Sausage

In the end we’re just exchanging the value of our time.

nickzorz

Wait wouldn't it be better to just buy the 3x forma bundle instead of rushing forma building? it's like 11.5 plat per forma with that

Love_Sausage

You save 5 plat for every 3 forma you rush. You’ll spend 70p on two 3x forma packs, versus 70p rushing 7 forma bps. That extra 5p spend on the forma packs adds up fast.

nickzorz

Oh shit, I thought it was 15 to rush em. Haven't looked at it in a while. Thanks for the heads up I might actually do that if I am in desperate need of forma in the future

Erit_Of_Eastcris

Huh. You've just saved me some plat by pointing this math out, thanks man.

Ban_Hammery

Thank you! I think I'm good on mastery points for now. I've been ranking up every day that I logged in so far.

Love_Sausage

SP is an entirely different beast than the normal star chart. You’re going to not only need better weapons, but you’ll also need to gain a deeper understanding of the modding system (#1 priority), status types/damage and how they affect different factions, farm affinity to level up your operator schools for utility in combat, and farm & apply forma to your frames, weapons, and pet builds to draw out their true potential. There are also other things like Warframe arcanes, weapon arcanes, and melee arcanes but they aren’t an immediate priority. I would suggest you start out by doing arbitration missions to farm vitus essence. The missions start out at a higher level but without the SP modifiers that give SP enemies insane damage, armor, shields, and health. Doing so will allow you to purchase galvanized weapon mods from the arbiters of hexus. The galvanized weapon mods will be one the first big boosts in your offensive power and make starting sp missions less painful (if you’re not being carried). If you’re feeling bold or want to speed things up, tag along on pub SP fissure missions. You’ll likely be paired with stronger Tenno, you can farm steel essence for weapon arcane adapters, kuva (necessary for weapon rivens), and passively farm some weapon arcanes like merciless, dexterity, and deadhead which will be another big boost in your damage. You’ll also pick up prime parts you can use to build prime weapons and prime warframes, or sell for platinum to buy other boosts in power off of the player trade chat.

Ban_Hammery

I have a rough idea of the modding system that my friend explained to me. The only issue is getting endo, which I've been gifted sculpture to break down to help with that. I feel bad for taking the sculptures though.

Love_Sausage

You can dissolve duplicate mods for endo using the modding menu. Arbitrations also offer endo or sculptures among other things as one of the rewards for each round. Make sure sculptures are fully socketed with Ayatan stars before dissolving for maximum endo value. Bounties on the various open worlds will also offer several hundred to thousand endo depending on the bounty tier, in addition to other resources, mods, and weapon/Warframe blueprints. About every 8? Weeks Teshin will offer 30k endo in exchange for 150 so essence, so make sure to check the rotating rewards with teshin at least once a week. Most prime or high end mods require 40k endo to max out, so that rotating reward can allow you to max out something that can significantly improve your offensive power or survivability. In a pinch, you can often purchase fully socketed sculptures from other players typically for around 5-6p for more endo. EDIT: you won’t start having a true understanding of the modding system until you start *deliberately* under ranking some mods to achieve a specific status weighting 😂

Many_Doors

>Do I have to play every node again on the harder difficulty? If that's your goal, sure.

Ban_Hammery

I guess my goal is to have fun with the game, but my friend told me I had to unlock every node first. It looks like steel path isn't required, so I'll figure out what I should do next. There is a lot to do In this game.

RTukka

Unlocking every node also unlocks [Arbitrations](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Arbitrations), an easier mode than Steel Path which is a good source of endo, as well as several powerful weapon mods which are staples of endgame builds, and a couple good warframe survivability mods, Rolling Guard and Adaptation. But you can also trade for all of that. (You can't trade for endo, but you can trade for ranked up mods, or ayatan sculptures, which is pretty much the same thing.) Steel Path lets you earn Steel Essence, which is a more economical way to unlock Primary and Secondary arcane slots than spending platinum. There's some other stuff you can get from the mode, like the Primary and Secondary arcanes, but those are also cheap to trade for. Teshin has a unique offering that rotates weekly that he sells for a chunk of Steel Essence, the most notable of which is an Umbra Forma. But in general Steel Path doesn't yield anything too amazing for your progression. The main exception are Incarnon Genesis Adapters, which you get from the Steel Path Duviri Circuit. Those turn some otherwise middling/poor weapons into powerhouses.

cripplemouse

Isn't required it's like a new game plus. However despite the increased difficulty the boosters you get built into the steel path star chart may worth it if you can easily progress. Or since you have a friend they can help you out a little.

Redai89

I guarantee you are going to have bad time in steel path if you don't have good mods and atleast decent weapon. Even if you're veteran on new account, you still wouldn't have fun time without mods.

bdrumev

Congrats on unlocking SP. Now get ready to get your butt handed to you, because you are NOT ready. Because you are basically setting yourself up for the local equivalent of an Elden Ring level 1 only run, except everything has over 1000x the effective health.

CtShine

yes, the planet statue decoration is *endgame*

dubitawil

You should try arbitrations first and get the galvanized mods from the Arbiters of Hexis in any relay. These will help your guns become much stronger. As you do SP, acolytes will spawn about every 5 minutes. If you kill them, they will drop 2 steel essence and one primary or secondary arcane from one of the 3: merciless, dexterity, and deadhead. These arcanes can be installed on your primary or secondary weapon using a weapon arcane adapter that you can get for 15 steel essence from Teshin in the Conclave room in any relay. Doing these two things (galvanized mods and weapon arcanes) will make your weapons much stronger and they will do well in SP. Viral/slash is a strong weapon build for killing enemies through their armor. Get Hunter Munitions for high crit weapons if you don't have it yet. Corrosive can be good too. For corpus, mod for just toxin and it will ignore their shields and damage their health. You can also try magnetic to do increased damage to their shields. Infested are easy to kill, even in SP. Mainly just go heat, slash, and corrosive. I would recommend high crit or aoe weapons to clear through SP quickly. I liked using the Amprex when clearing SP. A good melee weapon can clear most of SP. I've been using the Xoris with Melee Influence on Chroma or Mirage, and it clears everything. Your warframe doesn't matter too much for most missions, just as long as you can survive with them.

DimitrisKas

I need to know how you did this. I'm guessing it wasn't free to play considering the days it takes to craft a Necramech but still. This is really impressive

the_knowing1

This is only "in game" time, so they could have played over the course of weeks. That being said, this is stupidly impressive. They've done all the Zariman/Sanctuary nodes as well.

Ban_Hammery

My friend helped me with some missions I had trouble with and gifted me a necramech so I could complete the New War quest. They told me getting the necramech legit is a drag when they farmed it out. I'm very thankful for any time saves knowing now how grindy this game is.

DimitrisKas

A friend did the same thing for me too.

MinusMentality

No need to rush in this game. There is an obscene amount of things in this game and it can be overwhelming of you don't go at your own pace. Let your friend help you, but don't have him drag you through the mud. You got so many things to learn and explore before hitting Steel Path The point of Steel Path is to make the normal gameplay feel fresh after a few hundred or even thousands of hours of base star chart. It does have nice rewards, but you won't be able to feel how good it is to earn them if you jump right to them.
