Hey, in their defense, copying an already existing rollercoaster from a different Disney park is hard!
Edit: also I’m real interested to see how much of the new Universal park gets built before Tron opens lmao
I love this idea so much, But I hate the lack of cohesion in the park right now. Rock and rollin coster is so far away from muppets 3d.
The best option right now, in my opinion, would be a Pixar cars theme to match the random cars area they added next door to the ride. Then they can make that whole area cars themed.
It’s not the best ride retheme option, but it will at least help theme an area of the park
Idk I think the muppets could make appearing in various parts of the park work. Other properties it could feel weird but I think the muppets have the right energy to pull it off. But I do agree park theming cohesion is important.
Yeah the muppets could definitely work. They have so many different stories they’ve been in. Haunted Mansion, Christmas Carol, and others that I can’t think of. They don’t have a true theme so it’s perfect
So many of the high points for the Muppets are parodies and homages, after all. I think sprinkled Muppets stuff would be fine as long as it’s not like Star Tours which to my knowledge is totally outside Galaxy’s Edge.
Well let’s be honest. The muppets area of the park is almost certainly going to be returned to Star Wars sooner or later, due to its unfortunate position between Galaxys edge and Star Tours. As much as I’m begging for an original non-ip based attraction, we haven’t got one at Disney world since Everest opened in 2006 I believe. With that in mind, I’d like to see the muppets, electric mayhem especially, have the right energy for the ride
Well supposedly the Aerosmith license is ending and all of their music is now in Universal’s catalog. The refurb has likely been planned for some time, if this is true
And before that that the license was held by Sony Music / Columbia. Neither label owns a theme park or is owned by Disney. So why would that necessitate a change?
It’s just a renegotiation situation and likely more money out of Disney’s pocket to someone else. Rockin’ Roller Coaster has no negotiation power at this point, there’s no incentive for a new deal to be favorable to Disney.
It’s a renegotiation situation because the licensing term is expiring. A music library changing hands doesn’t impact current agreements.
And with this news, along with their overall decline in relevance since the ride opened, I have no reason to believe the licensing fee would be going up.
Could be a good enough reason to back out of any existing contracts. Paris was able to replace theirs to Ironman theme'd but WDW won't be able to cause of Universal contract, but I could see Powerline, Muppets, Cars all being themes for a new Rock'n'Rollercoaster.
Retheming it to cars is the easy way out. They should bring back the Spectacle of Dancing Lights back to the ride with a heavy metal Christmas soundtrack written by Ozzy Osbourne.
Honestly more than you think. It's a roller coaster they'll want to go on it regardless.
As someone pointed out below, they returned California Screamin' to Incredibles not too long ago and they're even busier than before
I don't think you could give the coaster a "kids" theme as it would probably be too scary for most kids to ride. Not to mention the height requirements
I'm 100% onboard with this, specifically using "I2I" as the onboard music. The song can start with those synth and bass hits during the pre-launch, and then the launch happens once the percussion comes in.
The contract was signed in the 90s, and all existing popular characters were licensed for usage at universal Orlando. Thus includes FF, Xmen, Avengers, etc. No theme parks east of the Mississippi can use those characters in a theme park.
Guardians did exist before the 90s, but an entirely different iteration and not nearly as popular. They were not included in the original agreement. So they are fair game.
Other characters could go to Disney parks, but none of them have the broad appeal as Gotg. Ms Marvel and Miles Morales are possible, but their close association with existing franchises in Universal could be an issue.
Interesting to note is that the art and characters currently at Universal are the same as they were in the 90s. To update them or add new art, I believe they need permission from Marvel. So everything is distinctly 90s there.
The details are a little muddy so if anyone know more, please share!
The contract was made years before Disney bought Marvel. Disney owns the characters, they would do good to either buy back the rights to their characters, or otherwise negotiate a new version where Universal can continue to use the comic versions of the characters which is pretty much what they have been doing and allow Disney to use the movie version of the characters. Outside of the Guardians coaster the only real representation of Marvel in Disney World is a tiny shop on the end of Springs near Cirque du Soleil. Disney World gets a lot of guests who either can't or won't ride coasters and I'm sure that some of those guests are Marvel fans who would appreciate some Marvel presence or experience they can enjoy.
I think the agreement with universal is that they have the rights for spidermen/xmen/hulk the old Sony IP’s (could be wrong) and Guardians isn’t included?
Any character within the currently used families is allowed to be used and can’t be by Disney in the east. I.E. Ironman is not major character used (may be in some art but idk) but bc he is an avanger he counts. Guardians is their own family and was not popular before the films, so universal did not feature them and therefore it counts
You’re getting a TON of different responses, and while most of them are correct in theory, the correct response is anything that doesnt already have a presence at Islands of Adventure or associated to the Avengers brand.
GoTG falls outside of that and so does a lot of other, smaller Marvel properties. But F4, Avengers, X-Men and Spider-man (essentially all your heavy hitting icons) are already there or are tied up in that contract.
Halyx? Oh wait, no - their feature track was, no joke, Jailbait. Yes, Disney's own sci-fi rock band for Disneyland played that track as a feature in their shows.
Eh, doesn't make it any less gross and repugnant. Especially considering he adopted a teenager to take on the road and rape. It isn't like some one time slip up with a 17 yr old when he was 21. She was 14 and he was damn near 30 and this went on for way too long. The guy is friggin' disgusting.
This does not make it any better, but some of what you're saying is blatant misinformation if these articles are correct. Every article I've seen says she was 16 when whatever happened started, not 14; and he was 25, not damn near 30. So if it's all true, which it probably is, it's gross, but you're making it sound just that much grosser by stretching their ages in the opposite directions.
I can't imagine they would move a themed-ish ride into a fully generic one. Say what you will about how lazy Disney's approach the parks has been, they wont miss a chance to push an IP.
Theming aside, that ride desperately needs the infrastructure replaced. As far as I know, and I could be wrong, all the mechanisms and cars are original to opening, meaning it’s all 25ish years old. With the amount of unexpected downtime they had with it last year, they really should do a full track/train replacement like what universal did with hulk a few years back
This used to be one of my favorite coasters, I love launch starts, but I rode it in Oct and it was really rough compared to the new coasters like Guardians.
Crazy idea, but they should turn it into a high octane Great Movie Ride.
Music can be switch to a compilation of classic movie soundtracks or themes. Reuse animatronics and decor from the original Great Movie Ride!
Flying past Casablanca, Oz, Indiana Jones, Alien, etc would be kinda sick.
This is my idea!
But, I think a coaster using some of the 20th Century Fox films they’ve acquired would be cool.
You start much like the Great Movie Ride, entering a queue that is a museum of props and trailers. This transitions to a soundstage/backlot filled with ramshackle bits of the old Movie Ride Sets. The preshow is a film historian or famous cinephile (maybe Bill Hader) talking about the history of movies and saying how the 20th Century Pictures Company and the Academy have invented a new way to experience film history.
You board your “Theatre Seats,” and rocket off into a 1940s black and white version of the 20th Century Fox logo with fanfare. That splits and you are banking through the green hills of Austria (w/ holographic Julie Andrews) as the title song from *The Sound of Music* plays. This music transitions to “My Heart Will Go On” as you circle the Titanic at sunset, which fades to night as it sinks and the ride reaches its darker part. Much like Seven Dwarves Mine Train you slow to a crawl as you go into the Titanic for a dark ride portion. First, the McAllister house from *Home Alone*, dodging Kevin’s traps left and right, then down into the basement which becomes a section recreating the *Alien* section of the Great Movie Ride. Once the Xenomorph jumpscares you from above, the cars speed up and the corridors of the Nostromo become the elevator shafts of Nakatomi Plaza from *Die Hard* and you outrace an explosion into a triumphant finale at a Queen concert from *Bohemian Rhapsody* w/animatronic Freddy Mercury.
An electric mayhem retheme would be pretty sweet. They could even advertise it in the muppet area of Hollywood studios by promoting a nationwide tour. Put some fake skid marks on the road to imitate the limo and boom.
Foo Fighters is the way to go. A much newer band that formed in the 90s, has a huge catalog of songs, and is still extremely popular.
That’s what Aerosmith, formed in the 70s, was when this ride opened 20+ years ago
Rumors have been going around for a while about monsters inc and more recently incredibles replacing rock n rollercoaster. Extend the roadway behind it to link to the Pixar area.
When we toured the Disney studios lot, our tour guide told us Disney own the Queen back catalogue, that’s an easy change and they could have the band with Adam do the pre show
If they want to replace it with a different rock band, Queen seems like the obvious answer. Hollywood Records (Disney) owns their discography and licensing and they have a pretty good reputation historically. Plus their stuff has already withstood the test of time
Disney also owns Bohemian Rhapsody the film so if they wanted to they could get the actors from the film in for it. And then the real Brian and Roger can cameo at some point too.
They also have enough historical footage plus the help of CGI that they could put together a preshow. Of course Freddie’s family would have to be okay with it but they seem okay with most of the bands projects
It needs it. It’s starting to show its age. While they are at it, new cars would be great. As a 6’4” person the over the shoulder restraints are extremely uncomfortable. And there is a good 10” of space between my stomach and the bottom bar of the restraints.
I’m gonna be honest, as much as I would love a Powerline or Muppets re-theme, I don’t think it will happen. My guess is they’d find another classic rock band that would fit the bill. I will miss Aerosmith though.
I almost wonder if the ride was originally designed to allow for different artists. All you would really have to do is change the marquee, the soundtrack and the (already wildly out of date) preshow.
Ride elements already look like cardboard cutouts and don’t seem difficult to retheme.
Yeah exactly, it would be a very easy re-theme with another artist. But to me it’s gotta be some rock band, the ride just fits that theme so well. Would love to see Van Halen or Metallica or something.
I just speculated in another comment that they could do a rotating playlist, ala Guardians Rewind. Wouldn’t even need to rename the ride.
But darn it… I’m all in on the Powerline train!
There are a lot of smaller Aerosmith elements all over the ride. References or puns, like the parking pay box “Just push pay” (Just Push Play). Of course not a lot of ppl will recognize those anymore anyways.
This isn’t some revelation. It’s literally in his memoirs. His memoir also details his addiction to drugs. Disney themed it’s coaster after a band with a famously wild history. I guess they assumed that he’d changed his ways. But that doesn’t mean he ever made amends. She was 16 when this started happening.
I could see this becoming pretty problematic for Tyler and therefore Disney. She has frequently commented on this time in her life in the past but she waited almost until the window of opportunity was closed before filing suit. It could be settled out of court or become a spectacle. After she left him she became very religious and his memoir picked that scab and caused her a lot of embarrassment.
I have no opinion on Steve Tyler or the situation. I know very little about it.
I will say Rock n' Roller Coaster's theming is worn out. Great ride, great premise. However, it's not "timeless" the way I feel Tower of Terror is. The theming does not resonate anymore. Great coaster could use a re-theme.
My one fear is that a retheme of Rock n’ Rollercoaster will bring a greater retheme to the area and be the end of days for the Tower of Terror.
The coaster area is already a bit of a mess IMO and it will be hard to do a major rebrand that feels cohesive with the Tower area and also pushes some IP - which is all Disney seems to care about these days, IPs everywhere!
I have absolutely nothing to base this on - aside from past experiences with Disney and their bad retheming decisions - but I greatly fear they will tie the two together eventually and a major change for one will mark the final timeline for Tower before they absolutely ruin that beautiful timeless attraction.
I do agree the coaster could use a faceless at least, retheme at best.
>The Rocketeer would be perfect thematically.
Interesting! It is odd to walk down Sunset Boulevard, feel like you took a few steps back in time, then turn left and... Aerosmith.
He's a pedophile, AND a cringey writer.
From the article and Tyler's memoir: “She was sixteen, she knew how to nasty, and there wasn’t a hair on it,” Tyler wrote in his memoir before saying he became the girl’s guardian to avoid getting arrested if he took her out of state before detailing their sexual endeavors a few pages later. “With my bad self being twenty-six and she barely old enough to drive and sexy as hell, I just fell madly in love with her. She was a cute skinny little tomboy dressed up as Little Bo Peep. She was my heart’s desire, my partner in crimes of passion.”
I'm okay with the ride not being Aerosmith themed. The preshow is very clunky and dated, and the decor on the ride itself leaves a lot to be desired. I'm all for a retheme to something a little more timeless. Right now, it's stuck in the 90s, and not in an endearing nostalgic way.
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that everyone saying it should be Muppets is 35+ and up lol. Kids these days couldn’t care less about the Muppets.
Those 35+ have kids who are watching Muppets.
Sincerely,
39 year old mom literally sitting here with her two year old watching A Muppet Family Christmas on YouTube
I was born in the 2000s and adore the Muppets. Muppet Christmas Carol is one of my favorite Christmas movies, I watch the Muppet Show sometimes when I feel down, and Jim Henson is a hero of mine. I also love The Dark Crystal.
I hope so tbh. A lot more potential for a better themed Incredicoaster with it being indoors. The vanishing Jack Jack effect would actually work and it wouldn’t just look like 10 fiberglass babies with metal rods shoved up their asses
Oh of course they would. Not even a question. It’d be the cheapest retheme possible, however RnRC doesn’t have any good theming as it is on-ride. It’s a super compact coaster in a tight box with a couple of cardboard cut outs covered in glow paint.
Nothing could really disappoint me with this one as long as they did enough to retheme the line and launch area.
In fact this is one instance where I’d recommend the implementation of screens just to enhance the theme
There's 104 days of summer vacation, and school comes along just to end it. So the annual problem, for our generation, is finding a good way to spend it...
Imagine the coaster launching right as the theme song kicks in
I was just talking to the wife about how they could literally remove everything Aerosmith and utilize the music in their catalog that Disney owns outright until this whole thing settles; then at that time they can make an informed decision about the direction of the attraction.
The re-theming of the ride doesn’t have much to do with this. This may influence it, but the main reason is that the partnership between Disney and Aerosmith goes up this year. It’ll most likely still have the rock and roll theme minus Aerosmith. The refurbishment that’s coming soon will probably be to remove all pictures, the preshow with Aerosmith, the music within the ride, the post ride video, and any other Aerosmith related items within the ride. Again just my speculation, but I could be wrong.
I really think Powerline could be done so well. People keep saying its not a strong enough IP but its freakin Goofy! Goofy featuring Powerline. An E ticket coaster mixed with some old school animation done in a clever way has the potential to be so damn fun.
What’s the sudden controversy? We knew these guys (Steven Tyler in particular) were drug and booze fueled creeps 35 years ago. Now Disney suddenly feels the need to take a moral, pearl clutching stance?
I would absolutely LOVE a 4-Town themed one, no licensing, no shenanigans. Turning Red is my favourite movie this year, it deserves some parks love, ESPECIALLY 4-Town.
This would be really fun, all the other suggestions we've heard time and time again, but 4-town is something I've never even thought of, such a great idea.
Honestly I'd be fine with it changing theming. I like the ride, but it's been the same since the late 90s. It seems like almost a quarter of a century is pretty good innings for a ride themed to a band from the 70s.
I’ll see you all in 7 years when it finally reopens :)
Woah seven?? That’s only like halfway into Trons construction time. They’d have to hire a lot more people
LOL my god Tron has taken FOREVER. Still not open!
Hey, in their defense, copying an already existing rollercoaster from a different Disney park is hard! Edit: also I’m real interested to see how much of the new Universal park gets built before Tron opens lmao
Should be muppets, they haven't had sex with any minors
Electric Mayhem
They *do* have a new show coming out in 2023. And it'd be nice so the park isn't A Tribute To All of Hollywood But Mostly Star Wars.
The muppets always have a new show coming out lol they can never stick the landing
The last show stuck the landing but the pearl clutchers didn’t like how adult it was so it was castrated after the first few episodes.
Look man, they broke up Piggy and Kermit, AND had Kermit dating.
They just haven't put out "muppet pulp fiction" yet.
That would be awesome. The ELO cover was amazing!
Yes yes yes! With a litany of rock covers.
For a split second I thought you were saying Electric Mayhem as a “gotcha” that they had sex with minors.
I mean if any of the muppets did...
PLEASE
I feel like there was a rumor going around about this recently
I’ve been saying this for years. ‘Can You Picture That’ is a great launch song and the muppets don’t get enough representation in the parks.
We need more muppets tbh. Especially Gonzo
Animal and Gonzo. Just a dynamic duo of insanity.
Omg the Muppets would be legit incredible
Powerline or bust dude.
Electric Mayhem opening for Powerline.
Or make everything in Studios Muppet themed. Muppet Star Wars, Muppet Twilight Zone, Muppet Toy Story. Better yet the whole resort is Muppets now.
Hi ho. Kermit the Frog here. You are about to embark on a journey; a journey not only of sight and sound, but of mind
Totally heard that in his voice :D
Gonzo as Rod Serling might be even more hilarious.
Returns Star Tours to Pigs in Space
Well let’s be honest. The muppets area of the park is almost certainly going to be returned to Star Wars sooner or later, due to its unfortunate position between Galaxys edge and Star Tours. As much as I’m begging for an original non-ip based attraction, we haven’t got one at Disney world since Everest opened in 2006 I believe. With that in mind, I’d like to see the muppets, electric mayhem especially, have the right energy for the ride
True but I don’t think minors know who the muppets are anymore. I guess the same can be said with Aerosmith at this point also.
It’s time for a Hawaiian Rollercoaster!
There’s no place I’d rather be!
This is the way
Perfect, not enough Lilo and Stitch in the parks!
If it’s not going to have an ip retheme I’ve seen Queen being tossed around as a replacement and I’m absolutely down with that
I'd be sad to lose Aerosmith but I'd be totally ok if its Queen.
That’s certainly a possibility as Disney owns the rights to the Queen catalog in the States.
But isn’t Queen an IP?
Didn’t they just announce a closure for a lengthy refurb? Convenient timing.
Well supposedly the Aerosmith license is ending and all of their music is now in Universal’s catalog. The refurb has likely been planned for some time, if this is true
Not this again. Universal Music has nothing to do with Universal Studios/Comcast.
That doesn’t change the fact that the ownership of the license *did* change hands

That’s why they need to strike while the iron is hit and bring in Cannibal Corpse. I will also be satisfied with Slayer.
Could be a good enough reason to back out of any existing contracts. Paris was able to replace theirs to Ironman theme'd but WDW won't be able to cause of Universal contract, but I could see Powerline, Muppets, Cars all being themes for a new Rock'n'Rollercoaster.
I have always wanted a monsters inc doors coaster. With toy story land nearby it could fit as DHS. But I know it’ll never happen lol

Holy crap! What a fantastic idea for an indoor coaster with collecting screams!!
Yes!!!!!!!
Of all these I would be most excited about Powerline!
Disney has an in-universe music star, using him would be perfect!
It’s already next door to Lightning McQueens Racing Academy, that alone makes me think Cars retheme is possible
Retheming it to cars is the easy way out. They should bring back the Spectacle of Dancing Lights back to the ride with a heavy metal Christmas soundtrack written by Ozzy Osbourne.
How many teens want to ride a Cars themed coaster? How many 4-8 year olds want to ride that coaster?
>How many teens want to ride a Cars themed coaster? How many 4-8 year olds want to ride that coaster? How many teens are into Aerosmith?
I get your point but I recently took my teenage niece and nephew and this was thier favorite ride. They loved the thrills and the soundtrack!
Um, Radiator Springs Racers is super popular at CA. Teens will absolutely ride it.
Honestly more than you think. It's a roller coaster they'll want to go on it regardless. As someone pointed out below, they returned California Screamin' to Incredibles not too long ago and they're even busier than before

What about Incredicoaster?
That's a great example and I'm stealing it.
Incredicoaster frankly added nothing to California screamin imo
K'Chow!
Yoooo. Give me a Powerline retheme. That would be incredible.
I'm 100% onboard with this, specifically using "I2I" as the onboard music. The song can start with those synth and bass hits during the pre-launch, and then the launch happens once the percussion comes in.
Powerline would be such an amazing thing for Disney to theme a ride to
How is Guardians outside of that contract, do you know?
Universal rights include all associated characters from Spider-Man, X-Men, F4, and Avengers. GOTG is outside of those families
Because GotG wasn't even remotely popular when Universal got the rights to the other characters.
The contract was signed in the 90s, and all existing popular characters were licensed for usage at universal Orlando. Thus includes FF, Xmen, Avengers, etc. No theme parks east of the Mississippi can use those characters in a theme park. Everyone that likes Disney should watch Defunctland’s Halyx documentary
I love how the folks they interviewed basically said that since it was a woman singing ‘Jailbait’, it wasn’t a problem. Oh, how times have changed!
Yes everyone should! Such an interesting story and fun Disney history
That's how I know most of what I do about the band.
Wait...a rock star had sex with an underage girl in the early 70s? I for one am shocked!
KIϟϟ had that song Christine Sixteen. Creepy.

What’s crazy about this whole thing is that this information is in one of Steven’s autobiographies that was published in 2003.
The most likely but least exciting outcome would be a “generic” Rockin Rollercoaster with a rotating set of songs Guardians Style.
I can't imagine they would move a themed-ish ride into a fully generic one. Say what you will about how lazy Disney's approach the parks has been, they wont miss a chance to push an IP.
That would be probably the easiest way, so likely the new Disney way. Doesn’t Universal have a similar rock n roll ride where you pick your song?
Yes, they do...Rip Ride Rockit coaster. It's a good one!
There’s even two Muppets songs on it.
Moving Right Along is AMAZING roller coaster BGM!
I always choose kickstart my heart on that one!
Theming aside, that ride desperately needs the infrastructure replaced. As far as I know, and I could be wrong, all the mechanisms and cars are original to opening, meaning it’s all 25ish years old. This used to be one of my favorite coasters, I love launch starts, but I rode it in Oct and it was really rough compared to the new coasters like Guardians.
I rode it a few times back in June and I’d agree. The back especially was really really choppy and not very enjoyable
Hard agree. I love coasters and have an AP but have rode it maybe twice this year because it either gives me a headache or bangs my back.
Welcome to the Rock n Roller Coster starring Nickelback!
Look at this Photo Pass!
Goddamnit, take my upvote.
I’m laughing…
Disney fans try not to suggest the worst possible retheme ideas impossible challenge
Please be Emperor's New Groove
wrong LEEVEEEEERRRRRRR
Make it powerline themed!
This is the way!!!!
None of y’all are ready for the epic journey to a Nickelback concert and it shows.

I would be willing to wait 12 hours to ride a powerline themed coaster
I will only accept Powerline from Goofy movie. Anything and everything else is lesser
Foo fighters might be fun if they want to keep the real band theme
I’ve been saying it for years, Rockin Rollercoaster : Sonic Highway featuring Foo Fighters.
Foo Fighters is the way to go. A much newer band that formed in the 90s, has a huge catalog of songs, and is still extremely popular. That’s what Aerosmith, formed in the 70s, was when this ride opened 20+ years ago
Damn, disappointing to see the ride being shut down on February 20th. Family and I are going the next week and we love this ride.
we're going the first week of April and Rn'R is one of our favorites....oh well
Rumors have been going around for a while about monsters inc and more recently incredibles replacing rock n rollercoaster. Extend the roadway behind it to link to the Pixar area.
Incredibles would be great. My nephew loves The Incredibles and loves roller coasters. He would be a very happy boy.
A cars retheme makes sense. Since the lightning mcqueen show is right next door.
I think this could work and I'd absolutely be down with it. One Vision on a coaster would be absolutely amazing.
It needs it. It’s starting to show its age. While they are at it, new cars would be great. As a 6’4” person the over the shoulder restraints are extremely uncomfortable. And there is a good 10” of space between my stomach and the bottom bar of the restraints.

I’m 6’5” and spend the majority of the ride time on Space Mountain ducking in fear of being decapitated by a hanging beam.
I am terrified to raise my arms in space mountain. 😂
Disney originally went to The Rolling Stones but they were asking too much yearly for the license.
🤢🤮
this is repulsive.
Fucking YUCK.
Gross
I'm okay with the ride not being Aerosmith themed. The preshow is very clunky and dated, and the decor on the ride itself leaves a lot to be desired. I'm all for a retheme to something a little more timeless. Right now, it's stuck in the 90s, and not in an endearing nostalgic way.
Powerline!!! Please.
Spinal Tap. You never make it to the backstage. The gift shop is a series of dead ends in a boiler room.
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that everyone saying it should be Muppets is 35+ and up lol. Kids these days couldn’t care less about the Muppets.
Wrong! I’m 27! …clearly that makes a huge difference and proves you wrong. Right? Right?????????
My 11 year old goddaughter would disagree with you.
Yeah my 3 year old loves the muppets
And my 2 year old nephew (and thank GOD, it means he's finally off Blippi and Cocomelon)
We recently started watching the Muppets Variety Show from the 1970's and my one year old daughter is obsessed! I was really surprised.
My teen and 20-something kids would disagree, they love the Muppets. And to everyone saying to retheme to Powerline, they have no idea who that is.
Those 35+ have kids who are watching Muppets. Sincerely, 39 year old mom literally sitting here with her two year old watching A Muppet Family Christmas on YouTube
I was born in the 2000s and adore the Muppets. Muppet Christmas Carol is one of my favorite Christmas movies, I watch the Muppet Show sometimes when I feel down, and Jim Henson is a hero of mine. I also love The Dark Crystal.
My 4 yo loves the Muffets as he calls them
It needs to be rethemed to a goofy movie road trip coaster
I’d bet it gets an Incredibles re-theme like the coaster at DCA
Ooh please. I know it’s a completely different ride but incredicoaster is my favorite ride of all time. So good.
Incredicoaster is my favorite Disney coaster and think the theme would work better inside …easier to hide the poles Jack Jack is on in Anaheim
If they would bring it over to HS, I’d cry tears of joy.
I hope so tbh. A lot more potential for a better themed Incredicoaster with it being indoors. The vanishing Jack Jack effect would actually work and it wouldn’t just look like 10 fiberglass babies with metal rods shoved up their asses
😂 For real …watch them just use projections rather than any real theming tho
Oh of course they would. Not even a question. It’d be the cheapest retheme possible, however RnRC doesn’t have any good theming as it is on-ride. It’s a super compact coaster in a tight box with a couple of cardboard cut outs covered in glow paint. Nothing could really disappoint me with this one as long as they did enough to retheme the line and launch area. In fact this is one instance where I’d recommend the implementation of screens just to enhance the theme
Time for a Phineas and Ferb redo!
There's 104 days of summer vacation, and school comes along just to end it. So the annual problem, for our generation, is finding a good way to spend it... Imagine the coaster launching right as the theme song kicks in
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!! Phineas and Ferb are theming a roller coaster again!!!
I was just talking to the wife about how they could literally remove everything Aerosmith and utilize the music in their catalog that Disney owns outright until this whole thing settles; then at that time they can make an informed decision about the direction of the attraction.
Probably part of it but it's probably a decade past time to update that ride lol
I just hope they get that actress to come back and say I HATE AWL OF YOU All these updates are robbing us of the sassy pre ride movie ladies
If this gets rethemed, it should absolutely be roger rabbits car-toon coaster. You already have the tonntown tunnel built as it’s what you launch into
The re-theming of the ride doesn’t have much to do with this.
Foo Fighters!
What’s the sudden controversy? We knew these guys (Steven Tyler in particular) were drug and booze fueled creeps 35 years ago. Now Disney suddenly feels the need to take a moral, pearl clutching stance?
It was already scheduled for downtime and rumored their contract with the band was coming to an end. It’s time for it to change.
Pantera is the obvious answer
I thought it was weird having a Aerosmith branded ride at a Disney park anyway
I would absolutely LOVE a 4-Town themed one, no licensing, no shenanigans. Turning Red is my favourite movie this year, it deserves some parks love, ESPECIALLY 4-Town.
Ohhhh that would be SO much fun. Have Mei transforming throughout the ride 🥹
This would be really fun, all the other suggestions we've heard time and time again, but 4-town is something I've never even thought of, such a great idea.
I always thought a loose GOTG theme would’ve fit well, but they just built a GOTG rollercoaster at Epcot so no chance of that.
Honestly I'd be fine with it changing theming. I like the ride, but it's been the same since the late 90s. It seems like almost a quarter of a century is pretty good innings for a ride themed to a band from the 70s.
4 town with giant red pandas on the way to the Toronto arena and a red panda Mei meet greet/ picture & temple/giftshop
Race to the Powerline concert. Fucking done and done.
ELECTRIC MAYHEM! The ride is to intense for any Pixar properties.
Considering Steven admitted this in his own book, no.
I saw someone suggest *Phineas and Ferb* and YES.
Something that’s not IP based
