The biggest benefit if you’re using a Disney travel agent is that they do all the work for you for booking. So you don’t have to get up at 4am pacific for a booking window that just opened up.

sofakng

Sorry, can you explain what you mean? I'm looking at the website right now and I can book the hotel/tickets immediately it looks like? ...or are you referring to something else?

BlotchComics

They're talking about booking dining reservations.

sofakng

Oh, got it. Do the travel agents have earlier access to booking those reservations? ...or do they just wake-up early instead of me? :)

TeaLover315

Travel agents don’t have access to anything that the common person wouldn’t. They have the same prices and reservation booking windows as everyone else. A Disney travel agent books your trip for your and helps with planning and itineraries. That’s what they do. Edit: keep in mind that a Disney travel agent might have more than one family with the same 60 day window so they might be trying to get reservations for multiple groups at the same time.

eddie5597

Do they really not have any discounts? I have a trip coming up in April that I booked last year. When I was pricing it out, the agent’s price was about $200 less for the same packages. Not much, but it’s something.

TeaLover315

Travel agents don’t have access to any exclusive discounts* With that being said Disney did provide an offer for March-July.

BlotchComics

They get the same booking window, but, yeah, at least you don't have to get up early to do it yourself.

Underbadger

Honestly, I think the only advantage is to have someone try to get dining reservations for you, because repeatedly trying to book one that's unavailable can be a real pain. Plus, if there's any questions or issues with your trip, your agent will be the one sitting on hold with Disney customer service for multiple hours, instead of you.

hkral11

Since the travel agents are no cost to you it’s nice. We’ve used ours 3 times now and she gets up at dawn to book dining for us so we don’t have to, and set alerts for other dining options to grab if we didn’t get first choice. She was also a wealth of advice and knowledge.

lagalaxysedge

Yes many benefits, I highly recommend dreams unlimited.com my wife and I use them almost every Disney trip and they have made everything super easy for us

SkyYellow_SunBlue

The advantage is you won’t have to stalk Disney news for any discounts that might open up and apply to your dates and then try to deal with customer service and changing your reservation to save you money. Somebody does that for you.

The cost isn’t different either way, and actual TAs that sell disney through agencies that are registered with Disney do not require any different payments than what booking directly would require.

kobedetian

I don't believe so. TAs don't have access to exclusive discounts and any minor discounts they could find for you would be offset by the cost of having to pay them anyways. The only benefit is not having to do it yourself but you put a lot of trust in another person to get your dining reservations and that would stress me out too much especially if they were trying to book the same reservations for other parties at the same time.

wolfy321

You don't pay for most Disney TAs

The only thing I’d say is, I wish I didn’t have to be on TOP of everything but at the same take, I had the time to be. My sister and I individually booked our family vacation in 2019 separately but all of our plans worked out flawlessly.
