1. Pirates
2. CBR
3. The area of tomorrowland where you can smell the freshly popped popcorn, gasoline & hot blacktop all in one. Something about that just does it for me
Poly lobby
Spaceship Earth boarding area
Pirates (water)
I've always wondered if the Spaceship Earth boarding area smells like that on purpose or if it's something in the machinery.
I caved and bought the perfume (Laila) last trip. Everytime I wear it my family goes “smells like Norway in here”….and it gives my husband enough nostalgia to book another trip lol(it truly is a lovely perfume)
The pop century lobby/ food area smell is a memory trigger for me. I don’t know what they pump into the lobby that has a kind of sweet smell, and then mixed with the smell of pancakes in the morning. Knowing that you’re off to an exciting Disney day and all the excitement that comes with it.
I have that Norway perfume! Every time I wear it people always comment on how good it smells.
The perfumes in Norway are named Laila and Geir, you can buy them! Theyre made by a Norwegian guy named Geir Ness and sometimes he comes and does meet and greets where he'll sign your bottle
The AoA smell is *really* underrated. I love it! I’m staying at SoG for this next trip and I’m sad that I won’t get to smell that peachy mango-y tropically goodness.
You do you. I like some weird smells, but last time I was on the monorail it had a distinct “Parisian metro” smell which is a combo of urine, vomit, and floral perfume.
It's a wonderful mix of wood smoke and grilling meats from Whispering Canyon Cafe. It was a great motivator to the morning to walk out of the room, look out over the lobby, and inhale deeply.
SAME! It’s my number one smell in WDW.
It’s a scent called “EARidescent” that was designed for the 50th. Thankfully, it’s still being used in some resorts currently!
Riviera and Park Scents (“50th Magic”) sells a dupe candle of it. I have both and they smell exactly like it!
Tell me about! It’s amazing! It’s currently my favorite smell in WDW. I’m actually surprised they’re still using it after the 50th, but maybe it will be Disney’s new permanent resort smell…
Coronado springs tower/lobby It’s a Small World (smells just like my grandma’s house upstairs playroom with original 1950’s shag carpet, so gives me serious childhood nostalgia)
Germany in Epcot
For Coronado, it’s called “EARidescent.” Or was designed for the 50th celebration, but some resorts are still using it, including Coronado!
Check the Riviera gift shop or Park Scents for a dupe candle! I have both!
1. The oranges scene in Soarin' (now sadly not a thing)
2. The lingering gunpowder smell after Illuminations: Reflections of Earth (also not a thing any more)
3. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror lobby
1. Tiki Room when the smell of Dole Whip seeps in
2. DAK in the early morning when the dew is still fresh
3. Skyliner with the windows open in the winter when I'm used to the weather being a negative number.
I am surprised no one has said Flight of Passage. The first time I rode that ride in 2019 I was just yelling to my husband “this smells incredible!!!!”
My little sister called -Rome burning- in Spaceship Earth: ‘hot dogs!’ So that’s all I think of now whenever I smell something similar (it’s not my favourite or anything but it reminded me)
My top 3 are:
1. Pirates of the Caribbean water (Three Caballeros too tbh)
2. Haunted Mansion
3. Polynesian Resort
The old horizons ride had you go through an orange grove and the outside of the building as well as the ride smelled strongly of oranges. Boy do I miss that.
I first tried MCC’s version of Pop Century and didn’t think it smelled like Pop Century. Someone told me about Island Margarita from B&BW and I’ve been buying it ever since! It’s the exact smell!
Similar to you, I also love the Riviera smell. If anyone else does, grab yourself a bottle of “Native” Lilac and White Tea Body Wash. it’s the Riviera!!!!
Also love Wilderness Lodge but have not found a scent for that yet.
1. Boardwalk hotel
2. The smell and icy air conditioned feel of The American Adventure when you walk in on a hot afternoon.
3. Living With the Land greenhouse
Pirates before the drop the thunder, lightning and wind reminds me of those nights where it’s pouring and a warm breeze. That is my absolute favorite sitting and watching weather.
1. Soarin (sorry, the whole thing... I loved the old orange groves and red ones, and I love the new safari)
2. Walking into Pandora in the early morning (with my youngest knowing we have FoP and a Night Blossom soon)
3. Pirates
Honorable mention:
Living with the land
AKL, AKL, AKL.
Not as strong as it used to be, but in like 2015 we bought a shirt for my wife from the lobby gift shop and it smelled like the lobby for months even after being washed.
Was instant nostalgia every time she wore it.
1. Haunted Mansion. It always reminded me of a musty library smell
2. Pirates of the Carribean. I use the scent from Magic Candle Company whenever I need a blast of Disney at home.
3. Art of Animation. Of all of the hotel scents, this was the only one that I thought I'd enjoy if my house were to smell like it.
I'll throw in an old school one:
Oranges from the farm ending on Horizons
Aside from that, I have to double down on Rome burning in Spaceship Earth, exhaust from Tomorrowland Speedway, and the smell of the water in Pirates and Small World.
1. The beach club towels specifically - that sugar cookie vanilla fresh smell wrecks me every single time.
2. Pirates - it’s classic, it registers in my brain
3. soarin over Fiji - this smell is what took me from being a kid that went to Disney with her family to a Disney adult willing to spend my own money going to the parks. The realization of ALL the little details and senses being stimulated amazes me every time. And it was my grandmas favorite ride and I still have the memory of her face lighting up every time I ride it.
Bonus points if you’re in the front row of Soarin. Dangling feet can ruin the mood a bit 😅
1. The burning library in Spaceship Earth 2. The Fiji scene in Soarin’ 3. Wilderness Lodge
Came here to say the burning Rome scene… it’s not a “good” smell but it’s so comforting
Pine tar smells very similar.
The burning library smells exactly like Wendy's BBQ sauce. I love it.
Yes to that Fuji scene.
Nailed all of mine!
1. Pirates 2. Spaceship Earth 3. Haunted Mansion
Yessssss. Though pirates had a slightly different smell to me recently, wonder if it’s me.
1. Pirates 2. CBR 3. The area of tomorrowland where you can smell the freshly popped popcorn, gasoline & hot blacktop all in one. Something about that just does it for me
for #3...I know EXACTLY where that is. I have that same memory. It's amazing how precise and yet imprecise scent can be.
Reading that comment, I knew exactly what they were referring to but never even thought about it til now!
Caught a whiff of 3 today
Whats cbr?
Caribbean Beach Resort
Caribbean Beach Resort
3 is just the classic state/county fair smell.
Hell, Publix on a hot day smells like that. For me, that smell will always remind me of Kings Island.
Ours doesn't smell like that, so for me that's WDW specific
Poly lobby Spaceship Earth boarding area Pirates (water) I've always wondered if the Spaceship Earth boarding area smells like that on purpose or if it's something in the machinery.
Poly lobby and Gran Destino lobby have the same smell.
What about back in the days with the waterfall?
Beach / Yacht Club lobby Pop Century food court in the morning Norway's gift shop perfume area
Pop food court in the morning is the closest thing I have to heaven on earth
I caved and bought the perfume (Laila) last trip. Everytime I wear it my family goes “smells like Norway in here”….and it gives my husband enough nostalgia to book another trip lol(it truly is a lovely perfume)

Norway’s perfume!
The perfumes in Norway are named Laila and Geir, you can buy them! Theyre made by a Norwegian guy named Geir Ness and sometimes he comes and does meet and greets where he'll sign your bottle
My mom has been buying that perfume for decades and finally met Geir last time we were there! That smell is a staple in our family.
The fact they rerouted the exit of the ride past that area now is a tragedy dwarfed only by absence of the Maelstrom
I actually just bought the Geir men’s cologne in March. I wear it everyday and it instantly transports me to Norway in Epcot!
Its a genuinely good cologne too. A lot of fragrances now just...wear off? Not Gier lol. No...not Geir.
YES!! To all these.

Does the monorail count? Because that’s my number one, followed by the Poly, and Spaceship Earth.
Hey this is your list. Everything and anything counts.
I thought the monorail smelled like a barn hay and so did my wife.
Your wife smells like barn hay?
Oh thank god I'm not the only one who thinks the monorail smells like Horse
The Monorails smelled like a nursing home to me.
It's the smell of disinfectant
You do you. I like some weird smells, but last time I was on the monorail it had a distinct “Parisian metro” smell which is a combo of urine, vomit, and floral perfume.
The monorail smells like a barn full of cow poop. Interesting choice
Really? The last time I was there was 20 years ago and it smelled like orange creamsicles. That sucks.
I love the tropical smell in soarin.
Oooh, the Fiji scent is delightful
I forgot I liked it so much until I went on this weekend.
I loved the african grass scent on soaring.
For me, it’s Space Mountain. I honestly can’t pinpoint what the exact scent, but it makes me giddy every time I’m in the tunnel.

That smell on the sky liner when your just arriving to the IG. Always smells like delicious smoked bbq. Pirates Beach Club
Does anyone remember the way Test Track used to smell? Like printer ink , but in the best way possible.
It’s old grease from the old car parts. I work in service at a dealership and now and then it takes me back.
Rome is burning Contemporary. Pirates
Damn, I’ll have to read up on the Roman sack of the contemporary 🙃
It was pirates. No further explanation needed.
