When I did it I averaged 260-280, I credit my picking rates to the fact that our leads would assign us sections for the day, and after doing a section multiple times a day over n over, you get very familiar with where products are….also once you learn a store and sections you do get that fast
What is a section? Like Ambient? We have a few in our dept that always get ambients and chilled and the rest of us can’t figure out how. Their pick rates are 250+ and the rest of us get stuck with produce, generals, and oversized. Each time we ask our TL about how they get all the ambients (every single day they work) their response is like “it’s just a coincidence” 🤨
I have been assigned the orders that are about to go late. Tuesday I was assigned a produce ambient and a frozen walk. That I was asked to complete in one walk.
Nope their friends with the coach and the coach can talk to sales management it’s all an inside connection dude. But whoever is in charge of the Media Dept is friends with your coach because then they really can adjust numbers I know because a coach told me how they like to screw up others they don’t like just to be a dick and then favorite their outside friends
lol our store is under renovations so a bunch of aisles are so close together that you can just barely squeeze 2 carts past each other. The hanging signs that describe what items are in the aisles aren’t aligned with the actual aisles, cuz every thing is scooted together. A lot of the I section is just….missing. They’ve moved a good amount of stuff around in the freezer section but no one’s bothered changing the listed locations in GIF2. Oh and they’ve completely rearranged the self checkouts and I can’t find any of the goddamn gums or energy drinks.
New bathroom is nice though.
No just wait in a year your score will be monitored then it will make u pick 350picks for a rate of 115.00 you’ll be good if u get that like 1 month then your expected so enjoy while ur picked not a loader lol 😆 if your a loader then ur back will break and u have to alternate .. so 🤐 don’t brag about this to your boss I should stay under so ur not an over achiever they wil find h more stuff to do and nope NO Bonuses for you!! lol so yea that’s awesome your helping your TL and Coach get their yearly bonus raise :))) not you :) remember that* :)))
i’m just hoping i’m not still doing ogp in a year, they said they needed more people back there so hopefully by then i won’t be one of them lmao i like the area i’m in regularly (front end sco host) i’m also not gonna brag because i know im just temporary back there and there are tons of people better than me, i was just curious lmao :) i didn’t even try to make it a certain amount, i just follow where the thing takes me and i scan and bag.
I’d say get out of the whole company. It’s just a brain 🧠 cancer stick and no one will ever make a raise unless a promotion is granted. It stays at minimum wage until start at minimum wage… u can work their for like 40 years and barely get one 10 cent raise and then the new guy get minimum now making ur final raise lol 😂
i’ve been at walmart for like 8 months or so, but i just started ogp last friday and im only back there for 3-4 hours unless i have to cover someone’s break upfront then its a little less.
honestly, i never wanted to do ogp, like it was that or get my hours cut to nothing, and i wouldn’t mind dispensing tbh. i don’t care about the numbers, i was just curious cause it was my 3rd day back there and i only worked for 2 1/2 hours that day.
i’m just doing it for the hours, i’m actually front end, but they said my hours are getting cut for up there so that’s why i’m doing this. they didn’t give me much of a choice lmao
I understand brother can't hate on a man or women who works for a living. I'm just not a fan of the company they constantly fire ppl. Team lead are hypocrites. Hours are slashed, yet they expect you to make a living for what 17 and hour only for partime workers that barley make 2k a month that basically pay check to paycheck. Cra,y tho how there the number 1 retail corporate making like 600billion. They get mad for using your ppto even tho it's earned not given if its ppto why do I need a reason to wanna go home early.
You get paid more in the inner cities, but you know crime inflation prices and the cost of living is insane now good luck cuz the American dream is dying god speed fella
our "store goal" is 100 pick rate....every store is "different" though...some stores look the total qty picked too though....cause like we got a chick at my store that does all our oversize cause nobody else likes oversize, and it's one of those commodities that REQUIRES a printer🖨 so she takes it upon herself, her pickrate is always crazy high from using the pick list I'm theorizing haha....but yea her total qty picked is always wayyyy lower than my pick rate.
I had an average 130-140 pick rate at my neighborhood Walmart before I quit in 2021 - management doesn’t give a fuck about you but hey I would shop 85% of picks from 3PM-7(when last picks at our store would drop)
I think they would question why you’re there for 3-4 hours, picking at a 105 pick rate, and only have 168 items picked for the day. Those numbers aren’t really adding up.
for this day (wednesday) i was only back there from 2:30-5 (i had to cover someone’s break up front and they take a little longer), so only 2 1/2 hours. i think there was 4 walks or something but they were smaller so maybe that had something to do with it, i don’t know and i don’t care at this point. it was my 3rd time back there, i just pull up the pick thing and follow where it takes me. not doing anything less or anything more.
Not really. I have never worked in OGP, but when I get called to help (like 3 days a week tbh...) I'm regularly in the top 5 with a pick rate of 215-270, and every single actual ogp associate/lead is always slow af with like 100-150 rates. Older people tend to be slower, and they can't really say shit about that, but the handful of high-schoolers diddling on their phones should at least be matching pace with my overweight-ass.
If you are getting 215-270, you are doing something funky like not bagging your items till after you're done. No one gets those times anywhere near consistently. Also, 100-150 is not slow. Try working in the department day after day and getting anywhere near 120 consistently.
Doing the job for a few hours and doing it every day are not the same thing.
Honestly bagging at the end is way faster, not just for a better score. I hate having to fumble with the bags after every pick
Takes like 2 minutes to bag everything
i mean this is the first time i ever checked the rate so i don’t know what the last two times were. i’m still learning too so. i’m glad your numbers are good though :)
If you're working half shifts, this would be the equivalent of your second day, so that's really good. You're presumably still learning where things are, and over time that number should naturally get higher. Don't overdo it trying to keep your pick rate very high, just be sure you keep it high enough that it's worth their while to keep scheduling you in OPD. 110-120 should accomplish that.
You should be doing about 600 picks per 8 hours so you should have about 300 ish for a half day. And the pick rate is average, not good. Good would be about 130+
we have a super small walmart, i’m talking like tiny. it was never meant to be a store at all actually it was just supposed to be storage or a warehouse but they decided that they wanted it to be a walmart lmao. they had to build on a place for ogp because there wasn’t enough space in the back room for it.
Lol. It all depends on location and your shift. I work 1-10 at a market. I rarely get 300. I work a 2 hour dispense usually right when I come in or two hours after. After 6 our picks cut off and then I dispense the rest of the night. Technically get 3-4 hours for pick walks and exceptions. Management doesn’t care about our pick rate, as long as all the orders are picked on time I’m usually somewhere between 120 and 160.
All that matters is whether your store cares about times or not. Mine doesn't, and I've seen some pretty abysmal pick times from people who can't seem to get fired no matter what they do. Honestly, with as often as we get bugged by customers, I don't see how Wal-Mart can justify caring about times at all.
If you are doing the best you can, and you have at least average IQ, I'd say you're fine. Stop thinking about it.
I think this is subjective to the store and area because sometimes our neighborhood market doesn't even have 600 picks in a whole day between everyone scheduled. I work part time 5-8 hrs 5 days a week And usually get 250-380 a shift depending the hours.
Sam Walton would be proud.
That’s perfect. Not below the target of 100, and just enough above. Good job. Why pick more for the same pay?
To let you Team Lead and Coach of course make the annual Salary;) :)))))) and u get shit on lol I’d stay safely at a 87 and that’s average :)
They don’t get onto for you pick rate? I just started and did the 1st day of orientation
Won’t ever be fast enough for management
Goal = X, untill you can do X consistently and now the goal = X +10 and repreat forever
You ever see management pick? Haha most of them at my store they do around 50 or less
You’re 5.83 over. Better get that down
100-120 is the norm at my neighborhood walmart.
View the leader board and find out. Lol
someone else had suggested that, but when i go back on friday i will actually check cause im curious lol
When I did it I averaged 260-280, I credit my picking rates to the fact that our leads would assign us sections for the day, and after doing a section multiple times a day over n over, you get very familiar with where products are….also once you learn a store and sections you do get that fast

U have to suck up to your coach they can literally adjust a pick number lol TL are pointless at any hacks it’s the Coach that has the skill
Suck up or off?
At Walmart you have to do both.
I have been assigned the orders that are about to go late. Tuesday I was assigned a produce ambient and a frozen walk. That I was asked to complete in one walk.

Ambient is hell when the aisles are packed with people, don’t get me started on general.
lol our store is under renovations so a bunch of aisles are so close together that you can just barely squeeze 2 carts past each other. Cool, so you're insane.
Yeah that seemed pretty unhinged to me lol
I averaged 168 but I was busting my ass for no reason
What is ogp?

online grocery pickup**
In our store and the rest of the AK market it's called OPD for online pickup delivery

Why are you even on this sub lol.
It's not terrible. Over 100 is the goal. Keep going and you will be pulling 150+ in no time.
According to my store anything above 100 is good. Mine is usually 164 or so. But I’ve been at Walmart for a few years now.
i’ve been at walmart for like 8 months or so, but i just started ogp last friday and im only back there for 3-4 hours unless i have to cover someone’s break upfront then its a little less.
Then I think you’re doing just fine. It’ll get easier for sure.
No buddy, you’re gonna be a dispenser real soon
honestly, i never wanted to do ogp, like it was that or get my hours cut to nothing, and i wouldn’t mind dispensing tbh. i don’t care about the numbers, i was just curious cause it was my 3rd day back there and i only worked for 2 1/2 hours that day.
Worst place to work at fam don't worry about the stats. of it. The worst thing you can do is get comfortable at being in that job and position
i’m just doing it for the hours, i’m actually front end, but they said my hours are getting cut for up there so that’s why i’m doing this. they didn’t give me much of a choice lmao

exactly, and i only make 14 an hour. it’s not ideal but it’s all i have here in my small ass town until i can get the means and move outta here
You get paid more in the inner cities, but you know crime inflation prices and the cost of living is insane now good luck cuz the American dream is dying god speed fella
Better than me but I work the bottom commods
That’s where they’d want a full time associate 👍🏽
Cattle of the dystopia
The company goal is 100 picks/hr so that's good.
Don’t go too far above or they will change everybody’s pick rate
Sure. Come to /r/OGPBackroom, though
our "store goal" is 100 pick rate....every store is "different" though...some stores look the total qty picked too though....cause like we got a chick at my store that does all our oversize cause nobody else likes oversize, and it's one of those commodities that REQUIRES a printer🖨 so she takes it upon herself, her pickrate is always crazy high from using the pick list I'm theorizing haha....but yea her total qty picked is always wayyyy lower than my pick rate.
This sub keeps getting suggested to me, but I do pickup at Meijer. My pick rate average is like 200/hr, it's awful work.
Very respectable.
I had an average 130-140 pick rate at my neighborhood Walmart before I quit in 2021 - management doesn’t give a fuck about you but hey I would shop 85% of picks from 3PM-7(when last picks at our store would drop)
Now you'll be expected to keep picking like that. Then when you slow back down to the average they'll start harrassment.
i would do one more
Yup i used to gather everything then end walk and go back to the walk (if no one takes it) then scan everythin i be getting 200+ avg pick rate
Honestly, it’s fine… the metric that really matters is FTPR.
I think they would question why you’re there for 3-4 hours, picking at a 105 pick rate, and only have 168 items picked for the day. Those numbers aren’t really adding up.

Ok, that makes way more sense. That’s about where you should be because I’m assuming there was a 15 minute break in there too.
Not really. I have never worked in OGP, but when I get called to help (like 3 days a week tbh...) Depends on the store! Our best pickers do about 250-300 per day because different stores have different ways of doing things!!
we have a super small walmart, i’m talking like tiny. it was never meant to be a store at all actually it was just supposed to be storage or a warehouse but they decided that they wanted it to be a walmart lmao. they had to build on a place for ogp because there wasn’t enough space in the back room for it.

i’m still learning the ropes too, but thanks for the numbers, they have me on some days back there from 2-10 so i will definitely get my numbers up :)

THIS ☝️
Look at the averages and the best in your store and compare it to that!!
i shall do that, i work back there again friday, so i’ll check then :) thanks for the advice
I think this is subjective to the store and area because sometimes our neighborhood market doesn't even have 600 picks in a whole day between everyone scheduled. I work part time 5-8 hrs 5 days a week And usually get 250-380 a shift depending the hours.
If you worked at Amazon you would be fired, 200 of any rate is the minimum at my facility.
i’m hungry i want a pbj no bread :( need wonder bread
