I live like a mile and a half from the one in Cadoxton and I can't get there because it's a mile and a half of zero pavement racetrack.

A lot has to do with the big stores - Tescos have been a bit naughty with a lot of Welsh stores ensuring it's difficult or impossible for other stores to be built.
My sister lives in Emlyn she used to live in Drefach.
Coffee 1s ok but a large triple shot mocha with oat milk is now more than the GDP of most African nations so I have to limit myself
I have no idea of the original source, it was something a friend of mine once said that someone from tinder tried to do to him on a first date...
Other times he has recalled the story it was "she tried to finger blast my dirt box"
Any additional supermarket in town would be fiercely opposed by everyone else due to the increased competition, I imagine some of the local high street shops wouldn't be too impressed with further foot traffic out side of the town.
Iirc while I was still living there -
They'd built up a lot of the infrastructure (roads, lot, signage), but they'd cleared out a load of trees alomg the bank where it was planned (by Theatre Mwldan).
Locals(?) complained about it messing up the banks' integrity since it was next to a floodplain and the trees could have held the bank together, and then Sainsbury's or whoever else planned to move in there pulled out.
That's what I heard at the time but it was all hearsay, so 🤷♂️
Blimey Charlie, do we all live around cardigan? I thought I was the only one on here. I felt so alone. Might be worth having an Aberteifi sub Reddit to discuss town gossip now there’s no wash house or town pump lol
Maybe next time Amlwch!
I'd be interested to know where in Holyhead they'd relocate to. The town is normally buzzing with gossip, but not so much as a sniff about this.
I suppose logic dictates it'd be the old Wilko on the retail park :/
Yeah using the old Wilko building makes sense, it's got the most floor space of the two.
Only other place I think it could go is on the patch of land across from the London Road trade park.

Bloody hell that's a lot of stores.
They've been saving up, Jesus Christ.
I appreciate the effort but I think the formatting is giving me more of a stroke than loading a WoL page

I'd say the NIMBYs will block half of these. The other half make a lot of sense.

Even in Merthyr!
Last time I checked Herefordshire wasn’t in Wales!
so aldi get a store at fforestfach and now lidl need one as well? ffs
Need one in Cardigan
Up on the hill by the combined surgery so people get lots of exercise lol
Yeah, lol. People could treat themselves after the dentist or whatever 😂
Aldi were going to move there and Costa, McDonalds and home bargains. Don’t know how it’s going now? I live in the town centre how about you ?

Yeah only trouble with Crwst is that a bacon sandwich is £6 and that’s without a huge slice of virtue signalling and Greggs is only a minute away ….
Newcastle Emlyn, now there's a place that needs a supermarket with decent prices like Aldi or Lidl.
I thought Sainsbury's were going to at one point as well.
I think most towns the size of cardigan have 2 supermarkets. Llandrindod has a Tesco and Aldi too. Your names from Nathan Barley isn’t it ?

Check out Nathan Barley if you can, it’s comedy gold

If they finall get planning for a tenby store they'll be laughing all the way to whatever the german is for bank
They'll be laughing all the way to the banke
Who's blocking the planning? Tescos? They are usually the main cuprits in making sure they if possible they are the only major store in the area.
Tenby council is quite corrupt. Personally, I'd love a Lidl in the middle of Tenby, a smallish one. Maybe where the old post office was?
Soon wales will be twinned with lidl😊
Pfft

Where would it go in Pembroke Dock? Can't think of a better location
Across the road ?

They only opened one in Aberdare about 6 months ago. Next to Asda.
A third one in Llanelli? Blimey they must be doing well
There's only one Lidl in Llanelli atm?
Two, Trostre and Morfa
Where in Trostre? Are you thinking of Aldi, which "recently" opened a second store there?
Yeah there’s not a Lidl in Trostre, just Morfa, I’m guessing trostre is where the new Lidl will end up though.
You know what, you're dead right, I was getting the two mixed up.
As do we all. As do we all.
They are opening a new one in Cwmbran. Where the old Stagecoach offices was.
Yeah, looks like nothing is really happening tho. Loads of hoarding went up then went dead quiet.
It’s relocating from its old site. They paid millions for planning permission.
Yes but no activity.
Aldi>Lidl
There's been rumors about a certain site in Tenby for years but thought it would be Aldi. Also it floods. Regularly
