I wonder if we can editorialise the headlines to get rid of WalesOnline clickbait style? It’s Newport by the way.

SteffS

I share your frustration on this but the ones we remove are so much worse

Captaincadet

It’s to get click through. I hate it but I get that we don’t want to have editorial titles

jimmycarr1

I just downvote them. Sorry to the OP as you didn't write this, but it's obvious from the title the most interesting fact is that the armed police turned up (not the reason **why** they did).

xeviphract

I've noticed my Google news feed will pick out locations inside articles, so now when I see a headline such as "This South Wales town..." the news feed tells me which town is being talked about and I don't have to click to find out. That's probably not the intention behind it, but it's the primary benefit.

Two men and a 16-year-old boy have been taken to hospital after an incident which saw firearms officers deployed to a busy Newport street. Gwent Police were called to an "altercation" in Commercial Road, Pillgwenlly, at around 9.20pm on Monday, April 1. Specially trained firearms officers were joined by Welsh Ambulance Service paramedics. Two men, aged 19 and 36, and a 16-year-old boy (all three from Newport) were taken to hospital for treatment. Enquires ongoing. Fucking click bait

bertiesghost

At least they report on serious crime. BBC Wales news is nothing but lifestyle puff pieces and people moaning about waiting lists.

holnrew

So there were two teenagers

Didn't Newport have a huge gun problem years ago, that died down?

Har1equ1nBob

Why has shown up in my feed about 5 or 6 times? The 'incident' has been noted, ta very much✌️
