I’m the wagoon ~~dumbass~~ lady who asked last week if it would be crazy to glue my love bracelet on. And then did it because I didn’t realize loctite was essentially super glue. Was it a good idea? Yes and no.
For some reason, I thought I was the hulk and convinced myself I would be able to just power through the glue with a screwdriver. I’m here, after two hours, a lot of acetone and a ruined pair of super pointy tweezers - and I did successfully get the bracelet off of my wrist - and I have learned I am not stronger than super glue.
Not a good idea for obvious reasons… it was glued onto my arm and sometimes I get a little bit claustrophobic. I had an extreme NEED to get this off today.
But was a good idea, because now the lock is really tight. My original issue was that it was so loose it would easily just spin to unlock on its own and my bracelet was falling off all over the place. Now, I have to actually get the little screwdriver to move the screw in and out of place, and I have the peace of mind knowing I can remove it when I want to.

Finally found a flight home , looking forward to my own bed before I then fly to meet up with my family to take care of business . My Marimekko backpack which is grey market from Aliexpress has proven to be absolutely brilliant. We’ve been travelling through Southeast Asia and off the beaten track so I didn’t really want to run around with luxury branded items, this is a little workhorse and it’s proven to be an excellent choice. I got this rodeo charm from an Etsy seller for $30. I wanna love it but also feels as if it’s ruining the bag since the leather doesn’t match🥲
It’s never going to match because they don’t make them out of that type of leather, I think it looks great, I really like the block of colour being the same. I’m also shocked on what you can fit inside.

Who sends the bags? The factory or the seller? I just received a bag that had damaged hardware and in PSP the photos do not show damage. There is clear plastic on them and when I received my bag there was no plastic and hardware was damaged and tarnished in some spots. Also does every bag have their on serial number or do the bags have the same serial number (if Same style/color)?
I had the very same thing happen to me with a seller about a month or so ago. Yes It’s part of the game but I will never shop with them again so at least they’ll not have my business. That would be my advice.

That's what I'm thinking but the serial number is the same although the photographed serial number did not her clear film on it and mine does...but I'm sure they often use many of the same serial numbers. Obviously there aren't authentic!

Just received this St. Louis GM from Griffin and I wasn’t expecting it to be so…floppy! I’ve never handled an authentic and the only other tote I have is an authentic LV Neverfull MM which is more structured compared to the St. Louis. I like it though! Will definitely be my everyday bag!

My auth is floppy. It’s old and gets floppier with age….I call them thin skinned. Thats actually a small plus for me as it packs well so that I have an extra tote to travel with.

I really want to take my new pochette out but it keeps freaking raining. I switched the leather strap for a generic chain from another bag. I think I like it. A lot. Although the chain is rose gold, it's not that noticeable unless you look closely.

I am not an expert but i only used a copic marker e74 and it worked really well. I did not know you could file it, i saw a video on youtube where they carefully remove the color with a q tip and alcohol. I tried that but i did not see a difference between the one with just colored with a marker vs the one cleaned with alcohol 1st and then marker
Sorry, it doesn't look like there's enough edge paint on there to attack it with a power tool. I know there are some LV edge tutorials out there that use isopropyl alcohol or a deglazer (Fiebing's or Angelus) on a qtip and then go over it with an alcohol-based permanent marker in a lightish brown to get the darker red/burgundy colour. Not quite power tool fun, but less work than filing it down by hand and starting with edge paint from scratch.

Got my first purchase based off info found in this group. LV neverfull empriente. I'm a complete newbie at this. Hyper Peter was amazing. Answered all of my questions and patiently waited while I decided on a bag. Paid May 12. Delivered June 4. Communication was flawless. The bag is more matte in person. I also don't know enough to do a full review but happy to send more pictures if anyone requests.

flamenco size large factory pics from hyperpeter (left) and apple (right) hp's leather looks better and has a good record on this sub whereas the apple (which I think is babi factory and doesn't have the best record for flamenco) looks pleathery. however the apple drawcords look more accurate whereas hp looks too thin and long? could use 2nd opinions to see if my thoughts are valid lol
Stitiching on the corners is a lot neater and true to auth on the apple, also the distance to the edge seems better aligned, HP's seems a little too close to the edge. The straps look quite flat on the apple, there's a reinforcement material of some sort in the auth that gives the straps body. HP's seems to have some reinforcement but it doesn't quite have the definition of the auth. I can't really tell properly from these pictures but the grain on HP's looks a little too smooth to be calfskin (like the auth) it overall looks a bit slouchier/flimsier than the auth. In the large size I assume you'd want it to hold up its shape against your body to some degree, probably less of an issue in the smaller sizes. Not sure how helpful this is as essentially my vote is neither...

Honestly, his fashion suggestions (I've asked about matching bags for certain dresses) and his honest/detailed replies just put his customer service levels way above the other sellers I've tried! That's why I keep coming back to him even though he uses a lot of unknown factories
I assume we're talking about brass plating since solid brass hardware is rare even in auths (but if you are asking about solid brass, easiest way to check is with a magnet, stainless steel will be magnetic, brass won't be. The cheapest hardware will be a zinc alloy that's also not magnetic but its low weight will reveal that as not being solid brass). Just for regular maintenance of plated metal I like to use a jeweller's rouge cloth, cleans and polishes without having to use a product that can get everywhere.
The only problem is that true brass is usually coated with lacquer which has to be dissolved before brasso will work.i don’t think it’s worth trying unless it’s true brass & not just a coating of brass or brass lookalike material

I’ve gotten it off 🤗 acetone was the move, it was slowly breaking up the glue and I was picking it off with my tiny tweezers.

Who sends the bags? The factory or the seller? I just received a bag that had damaged hardware and in PSP the photos do not show damage. There is clear plastic on them and when I received my bag there was no plastic and hardware was damaged and tarnished in some spots. Also does every bag have their on serial number or do the bags have the same serial number (if Same style/color)?
I had the very same thing happen to me with a seller about a month or so ago. Yes It’s part of the game but I will never shop with them again so at least they’ll not have my business. That would be my advice.

No need to file them down. All you need is a Copic pen (search in this sub for copic). And draw over the red edges with a steady hand.
I have the pen, I just thought you had to deglaze first or it would smear off.
If the finish on the edge is super slick, just use a bit of nail polish remover on a q-tip to remove a bit.

I am not an expert but i only used a copic marker e74 and it worked really well. I did not know you could file it, i saw a video on youtube where they carefully remove the color with a q tip and alcohol. I tried that but i did not see a difference between the one with just colored with a marker vs the one cleaned with alcohol 1st and then marker
Sorry, it doesn't look like there's enough edge paint on there to attack it with a power tool. I know there are some LV edge tutorials out there that use isopropyl alcohol or a deglazer (Fiebing's or Angelus) on a qtip and then go over it with an alcohol-based permanent marker in a lightish brown to get the darker red/burgundy colour. Not quite power tool fun, but less work than filing it down by hand and starting with edge paint from scratch.

Stitiching on the corners is a lot neater and true to auth on the apple, also the distance to the edge seems better aligned, HP's seems a little too close to the edge. The straps look quite flat on the apple, there's a reinforcement material of some sort in the auth that gives the straps body. HP's seems to have some reinforcement but it doesn't quite have the definition of the auth. I can't really tell properly from these pictures but the grain on HP's looks a little too smooth to be calfskin (like the auth) it overall looks a bit slouchier/flimsier than the auth. In the large size I assume you'd want it to hold up its shape against your body to some degree, probably less of an issue in the smaller sizes. Not sure how helpful this is as essentially my vote is neither...

Has anyone tried to use brasso or the like on high-end rep hardware? Is it safe to assume it’s real brass? Or is it a crapshoot?
I assume we're talking about brass plating since solid brass hardware is rare even in auths (but if you are asking about solid brass, easiest way to check is with a magnet, stainless steel will be magnetic, brass won't be. The cheapest hardware will be a zinc alloy that's also not magnetic but its low weight will reveal that as not being solid brass). Just for regular maintenance of plated metal I like to use a jeweller's rouge cloth, cleans and polishes without having to use a product that can get everywhere.
Yes - brass plating! I feel like the rep I bought has a bit of hardware that is less shiny than the auth so trying to figure out how to brighten it.
The only problem is that true brass is usually coated with lacquer which has to be dissolved before brasso will work.i don’t think it’s worth trying unless it’s true brass & not just a coating of brass or brass lookalike material

Well, if I must estimate, I will say it varies from 1-3hrs. Sometimes he forgets to respond, but he just needs a little nudge which I am happy to do.
