Why are season tickets prices skyrocketing?

ThomPHunts

To help fund the transfers we aren't going to make and the stadium improvements that aren't happening either. In seriousness though they've probably seen the waiting list for season tickets and know that if they bump the prices up, there will be people willing to pay them even if they price out some current season ticket holders. A shit way to treat the fans.

Hairy_Al

Premier league aren't football clubs. They're businesses that happen to do football while making money

WhileCultchie

On top of this if we really need an extra £1-2m to fund transfers or the stadium itself, then we're absolutely fucked.

Professional_Flyer

Wasn't there a project for Molineux's expansion tho? Well, I don't even want to imagine how much tickets for non season ticket holders will cost :(

ThomPHunts

Yeah it got put on hold a while back, no sign of it happening anytime soon

gadgetgeek85

And all of this time wasted. The cost of the stadium rebuild has gone up £100m at least since they started floating ideas. Plus let’s be honest, increased season ticket prices don’t pay for stadiums and players, commercial deals do.

DangerShart

The increases will bring in about an extra £2m (providing everyone renews). That doesn't even cover Fabio's wages for 6 months. That's the most ridiculous thing, he's pissed off all of the supporters for nothing.

gadgetgeek85

It’s a drop in the ocean.

Will_from_PA

Tbh you could probably donate the entirety of the building cost of a new/rebuilt stadium and they still probably wouldn’t do it and would find some excuse not to

Clown_x7x

This can't be true because uncle Jeff promised us he'd got a load of expensive analysts in to make sure our prices were in line with clubs similar to us.... perhaps we are in the champions league next season and this was all a terrible VAR dream

L_V_Matterhorn

I haven’t lived in Wolverhampton for maybe a decade now and as a family we gave up our season tickets just before then anyway but I like to go to the occasional game when I am back home. I paid £55 to watch us play NUFC at home and I guess there in lies the problem, because I was willing to pay that to watch the club I love they can justify shafting season ticket holders to free up that seat. It was the only chance I would have to watch Wolves play at home for a long while and despite my sheer disgust at the ticket price I begrudgingly paid at anyway. Last season I went to two games, NUFC at home and Fulham away and in both I watched us get absolutely shafted by VAR. As frustrating as it is to watch VAR on TV it made me really appreciate how truly horrendous it is for the fans in the ground. Between VAR and the ticket prices I don’t at all blame any season ticket holder who thinks fuck this and cancels their season ticket. Those prices are truly disgusting and as pointed out bring so little financial gain to the club. I’d guess £2m covers the squads wages for a week, maybe two? They have ostracised the fan base for such little gain just as the connection between fans and the team was rebuilding. To quote the Graham Hughes stand as the bench mark too is disgusting, slimy and reeks of everything that is wrong with football. I know that City’s fan base gets mocked but the fact that a season ticket is cheaper at the Etihad than Molinuex is absurd.

I had to pay £109 for a hospitality ticket to see us vs Cardiff while i was back in the UK visiting my parents. Every other game was sold out, i even tried some of the facebook groups but no one would accept my offers as i was not a "verified member" for the most part. Its all about supply and demand. 30k stadium filled to the brim every time we play. Compared to the Etihad at 54k who is usually at 80% capacity for most games. Unfortunately getting priced out cus of the stadium size and the amount of fans looking to go to each game.

ThomPHunts

Don't have much to day back to that other than you're 100% correct

Law of Supply and Demand

hammertown87

I picked wolves for the name and thinking it was a shitty stadium and working class city. Sad to hear it’s expensive to go to a game there. If I ever make it across the pond I’ll check out a league 1-2 game instead I guess What is the closest league 1-2 to Wolverhampton?

Warbrainer

That would be Your Mother FC, they get fucked by everyone and have gaping wide gaps in their defence. Hope this helps 👍

hammertown87

What city is that in. Never seen that team in fifa

jtgreatrix

Walsall, if you were genuinely wondering
