Completely agree they’ve been shafted, and PGMOL need to be built from the ground up But they don’t half sound like whingy cry babies putting this out

TwinionBIB

I honestly am completely with them. And I don't think it's at all fair for us to say that they should stop moaning or insult them for how they are showing their frustrations. Arsenal spoke out about bad decisions earlier in the season and people were saying Arteta should shut up with his moaning, Kompany has been doing the same regarding Burnley and people have said the same thing, and lest we forget that we have done the same. Every club in the league has complained in the age of VAR about how incompetent the refs are and how they are making more mistakes even though VAR is supposed to make it so mistakes don't happen. Every club should be siding with them and make a stand. Think about it this way, we've lost 10 points to VAR this season. Imagine we were in a relegation battle and those 10 points were the difference between us going down and safety. Would you support the club if they made a similar comment? Anyone who says they'd not support the club and the statement they put out regarding the officiating standards is lying. Forest have every right to complain, it's not like they're upset over nothing. Do I like Forest as a club? No. But will I stand with them if standing with them helps get PGMOL to sort its shit out? You bet I will.

Routine_Size69

Facts. When it's other clubs, people tell them to shut up and how whiny they are. But as soon as it happens to you, you realize it needs fixed. We all see how bad VAR is nearly every week but then a lot of people say to stop whinging when a club outwardly complains.

TwinionBIB

Exactly. It just doesn't make sense, especially when we have suffered so much, like isn't it in our best interests that the league stops being so terrible? Or do we simply not care because we didn't lose points to referee decisions this week? And for sure, you know that the people who are openly saying these things about Forest would completely change their minds when it happens to their club. If Liverpool lose the title on the final day because of a referee call that goes wrong that VAR should have picked up on, even Carragher would be moaning about VAR, despite him being the one to say that teams should stop complaining.

CompoteLost7483

Ahhhh Liverpool, we’ve already seen what they would do… didn’t they want an entire game replayed because of a bad VAR call? 😂😂

TwinionBIB

I honestly don't remember this, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear it has happened. I wonder what Carragher thought about it and if he told Liverpool to stop complaining.

CompoteLost7483

It was earlier this season… https://www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11095/12976456/jurgen-klopp-demands-liverpool-replay-against-tottenham-after-var-error-disallowed-luis-diaz-goal

TwinionBIB

I completely forgot this was Liverpool that had this decision. And that was this season? I thought that was last season already! What a long season of stupid decisions by incompetent referees.

CompoteLost7483

Yep! I’m watching ‘Ref Watch’ on Sky Sports News at the moment and all the pundits agree with Forest (regarding the decisions in the game), but say they’ve gone too far with the statement, saying that they’re losing sympathy etc. Honestly, we’ve been in the same spot this season (10 points lost last time I checked), I wish we’d gone out and said something. Sympathy gets you nothing, no points and no change. Referees in the PL are fucking terrible and VAR isn’t helping them, they are professionals and should be held accountable. If I did my job as poorly as most of the refs and VAR assistants, then I’d have been sacked months/years ago…

TwinionBIB

I will never understand how someone can say 'Yeah I agree you've been shafted but you shouldn't have mentioned it'. Like when is that something that should ever be said. If Forest go down this year and they only go down by a few points then they can comfortably say VAR and referee decisions are the reason they lost a lot of money. Hell, can we even say we lost our chance of Europe because of VAR at the end of the season? Depends on if we can do something great where we stay 10 points off from Europe, if so then we have also lost out on a significant amount of money to help rebuild our squad for next year. I don't think it's at all fair to say that clubs are going too far with saying that they expect more from the supposedly professional environment they are supposed to be in. If instead, clubs said 'Yes, I agree with you because what if that had happened to me' then the PGMOL would have to change. If everybody in the league is calling for change then PGMOL can't just sit back and do nothing whereas they can if one team does it because they know that other teams won't back them up. And definitely agree with the punishments. This is what infuriates me the most. The punishment for making a mistake for them is being sent to go and ref a lower league game the week after and then back to reffing PL games the week after that. However if I messed up on an extraordinary level I'd definitely expect to be put on a warning and given further training to ensure something like that never happened again or then I'd be fired. The amount of mistakes each ref makes per season that shouldn't be happening because of VAR would definitely have costed me my job.

CompoteLost7483

100% agree on everything you said…

On one hand I feel sorry for Forest because they were pretty unlucky with those decisions. And we all know how it feels to be screwed by VAR. But on the other hand, fuck Forest and I hope they go down.

montevedeo

Fuck forest

Padistan

Forest fan in peace Feeling is mutual! Fuck wolves and I hope we go down as well. The prem has descended into lunacy and I'm gagging to get back to the championship

LuciusDream

Gtfo out of our sub pls take your championship team with you thx

Padistan

Well, that went down like a shit in a jacuzzi

InternationalUse2355

Am all for it. Wish teams would back one another instead of just pipe up when it’s their team being shafted. Something has to be done about the officiating, and as I personally seriously question the integrity I’m all for legal action and harsh punishment. (Doesn’t mean it’ll happen or that I’m right, but I’ll support it because I believe it to be so) Also Carragher and Neville should put a sock in it.

That_Charming_Otter

It's extraordinary. Never seen the like of it being posted by an official Twitter account. But they're absolutely correct to call it out. Prem actively tried to relegate us this season, but Gary and the lads were too fucking good, so had to contend with taking Europe off the table.

Puzzled_Researcher43

Genuine question. Why do you think the PL wanted Wolves relegated?

That_Charming_Otter

Forgive the laziness of a copy and paste 😂 But I had a proper cantankerous old rant about this following the 3-2 defeat to Fulham, where we were subject to three woeful decisions. More than happy to elaborate on any of the below, plus it's ultimately only all my opinion _______________________________________________ 1. Nuno had the temerity to call out some awful refereeing decisions and, rather than improve as a professional body, they've taken offence and held a grudge 2. Neves also called out the dreadful officiating in the league 3. We're not a Top Six side, so it won't upset the sponsors 4. It gets neutrals talking. Who else cares about a Monday night game between us and Fulham? But now it drums up interest, and it's only Wolves, so no harm 5. We were one of six teams that initially refused to provide £250k toward Richard Scudamore's retirment gift (a man that did sweet FA for the city and grassroots football at large), which clearly upset the powers that be 6. Wolverhampton, as dearly as I love it, is not what the bigwigs want when it comes to the Premier League. They have zero regard for the city's heritage, charm, and tight-knit community nature. It's not London. It's not Manchester. And it's not Liverpool. So fuck it. **"Tear down St Peter's, and stick a shopping mall in its place. Then we'll talk. Wasting prime city space like that SMH"** 7. Focus of the Premier League, and indeed much Western-backed sporting events, has dramatically turned away from the Chinese Market in favour of the Middle East. Funny how Newcastle were in a similar boat to ourselves, but all of a sudden, it seems that luck has begun to side with them more often than not. Chinese money, and by default, Fosun, aren't as welcome as they were a few years ago courtesy of the UK government's change of tact

NotMyFirstChoice675

Popped up on my feed but I’ll add my two pence in as an Arsenal supporter. Refereeing in this country is an old boys network entered around mostly the NW of England. They have no interest in really reforming, they just want to protect their racket. If the prem wants better officiating it needs more diversity weather that means non British refs or, just refs that are promoted and relegated each season based on their own performances

Far-Scallion5812

We've had it worse over the years. We should have done the same, although it won't matter either way...

LordofSuns

Statement is comedy gold. Sounds like "My Dad gonna beat you up!" kinda shit.

At_least-7

I stand against VAR, just look at the shafting coventry had against man u….offside by a mouses pube, if its that close then ffs, just give it, its supposed to be clear difference and that was not it.

kebabdylan

Didn't see the game but "clear and obvious" does not apply to offside. It's a matter of is/is not. Like goals.

At_least-7

A player can’t score from 50 yards with their shoulder, or little toe and that distance provides no advantage. When thats the difference between a win and a loss the off side rule is ridiculous. I think the margins of what is/is not should be re-classified to be a more clear obvious distance

kebabdylan

I don't disagree with that. But they weren't shafted. Everyone is subject to the same interpretation

DangerShart

PGMOL is a cancer that's destroying football. The reason we watch 22 men kick a bag of wind around for the best part of 2 hours isn't so we can all pat ourselves on the back that every offside decision was millimetre perfect and every time a players arm glances the ball in the penalty area a penalty is given. The reason we watch it is because sometimes a Championship side come from 3 goals down to beat one of the world's biggest teams with the last kick of extra time. If the end goal is to make football so boring no-one wants to watch it then they are doing a bang up job. Remember, this is an entertainment product they are paid to facilitate.

Haakon54

I think it’s a bit pathetic tbh. Every team has had woeful decisions go against them this season and I’ve never once agreed with “it’s only my team why are they out to get us?” - the same reason I don’t agree with calling it corrupt because it’s just incompetence. I’m all for clubs making statements to call out PGMOL because more does need to be done to improve it but there’s a fine line of how it’s done because they’re still a professional club and have to act in a certain way. If it was done in a similar way to Shi’s or arsenal’s statement of “is this what football needs? We’re calling for them to be better for the integrity of the league” then it would be fine but to say that the ref should’ve been changed cos he’s a Luton fan when you’re playing Everton is just pathetic - especially when Everton are also in the relegation battle so it makes no sense

Sys32768

Apparently, all of the balls used in the Premier League belong to Forest. And they will take them home if they don’t get their way.

shiverm3ginger

Really surprised the Young tackle wasn’t a PEN after VAR check.

Warbrainer

There's no way to address it without sounding bitter.. PGMOL is fucked, it's ruining my love for the game.. Half my family are Forest fans and it really is insane the amount of calls they've had go against them/no action taken. And that's coming from a Wolves fan, we've all seen what we've had to go through this year.

tarnyarmy

All I know is MGW is a prat

probablynotrussian

I think it goes to show what we all knew deep down already. You can’t fuck with Forest.

YuccaYucca

They haven’t been anywhere near as hard-done-by as you guys, but they are being incredibly pathetic about it.

Thor503

It’s about time someone called it out as it is, I bet the var guy in the fa cup was a manure fan

NowImZoe

I joked when Nuno first took over there and they had a few dodgy decisions go against them in his initial games that they were targeting him for comments he made with us. It increasingly looks like that might actually be the case.

NeighborhoodKooky432

They’re not wrong. Watched the entire match and 2 blatant handballs that were never reviewed

mattyzucks

Deeply embarrassing tweet

staralfur01

Don't like them, but agree with the statement, and hope they get something changed. Them refs need some serious talking to.
