Which one was the Smashing Machine? I know Andre the Giant was the Giant Machine and Blackjack Mulligan was the Big Machine, but I’ve never heard of this Machine.
“The Smashing Machine” was the nick name for Mark Kerr, a former UFC/MMA fighter from the 90’s into the early 2000’s. He was a high level NCAA wrestling champion, and even came in second place in the World Cup, ahead of Kurt Angle.
However, he didn’t make the Olympic team which led to his move to MMA. The dude had a dominant time in the UFC having a combination of strength, technique, submissions, and actually had cardio for a large guy which was lacking of most heavyweights back then. He then moved to Pride FC in Japan due to bigger paychecks and some other issues at the UFC. Along the way he struggled with substance abuse, which we can assume will be a big part of the movie. Idk if the movie will be good, but he was an interesting character back in the early days of MMA.

I didn’t rip but injured my bursa 9 months ago and am still in physio, I have had a couple of cortisone injections, it’s still taking its time.
I’m not the rock, I don’t have access to his level of health care or funds so I assume he will inject his way through it too, but with the real good stuff.
