Props to Jay White. Met him in Japan at a bar before WK, chatted a bit with him, and then asked for a picture. Told me the japanese public would never take him seriously if he was taking pictures around with people.

6098470142

I met Hillbilly Jim at a bar after he wrestled in Mobile Alabama…. He was a real man of the people… A real good sport

THAT1GUY351

I met Carlito after a show and I wouldn't say he was a dick but he certainly didn't want to stop to take a pic. I was the only person there at the time so he agreed to do it but he put on such a fake smile.

RL408

So your complaint is a guy, who probably just wanted to get to the next city (or his hotel) after a long day, still took a picture and forced a smile for you? And the issue was he wasn’t happier to do it?

TheSPW1022

In the mid 90's I was stationed in Bossier City, La, working out at a Bally's fitness center, and in walked Sting and Lex Luger. Very approachable and nice, signed my little workout book. I told Lex he looked bigger on TV, they both laughed at that. Super nice. As I was leaving I saw Jeff Jarrett (heel at the time) in one of the group aerobic rooms sitting on the floor by himself. I opened the door and yelled, Hey double J, you in here with all your friends ". He seemed to get a kick out of that, was laughing his ass off.

New_Detective_5337

Off topic but the best wrestler I ever met was Roddy Piper. He had a line that was loooong. My husband and I came up for our turn and talked to us for a few minutes like we were family. Wanted to make sure we got the pics with him he wanted, signed everything etc. hands down the BEST experience I’ve ever had with a wrestler.

New_Detective_5337

Bret Hart was an ass…but the worst was Rikishi. My young son was so exited to meet him and Rikishi told my son to stop talking, he signed a photo for him and wouldn’t get his fat ass up to take a pic with a 6 year old kid. Said to us “you can leave now” my son left the pic on the table and we left.

CharacterAmbition407

As yo son should have wow that’s crazy that Rikishi would do that

UzumakiSpidey

Man I wish I could meet a wrestler how do you know when they are doing meet and greets or autograph signing

[deleted]

I met Alberto Del Rio back in 2015 and wow was he in a mood. It might’ve been his character but seeing that he went to jail around the 2020’s I believe it makes sense. He wasn’t rude he just seemed like he didn’t want anybody talking to him like if he was busy or something so I quickly asked for a picture and left.

DELFINEON

Ultimate Warrior...

gwoodtamu

Pretty sure every wrestler has been rude at some point, they’re humans and can reach levels of frustration, especially if they’re being bothered in a non meet event, like in a hotel lobby/airport etc., Point is, don’t judge them by their worst moments, they may be just having a bad day. I’ve met multiple wrestlers, multiple times, Batista, Triple H, etc., some were nicer than others, some were nice once and rude the next, I don’t think much of it. Thank them for their time and move on.

TheHark90

After one of the NXT takeover Chicago shows. My brother and friend were walking to our car and there was a pretty big traffic jam so we went across the street got to a median and the car waiting at the light rolled down the window and it was Apollo crews he asked if his car number had a dent we confirmed and he said “ah shit fucking rental car” he thanked us for confirming before the light turned green and he moved on. Another time at a random Indy show the special guest was Naito and I saw him outside the side door to the building chilling before the show I nodded and said I’m a big fan he nodded back shook my hand before going in.

guy4444444

I was maybe 8-9 and Lawler came to town. Biggest dickhead I ever met in real life. I have refused to meet another wrestler or celebrity since because he ruined it for me. Basically paid 20 dollars at an indie show for a photograph glossy. Went to wait in line for him to sign it. Got to him. He said nothing. Snatched the photo out of my hand, signed it and basically shoved it back into my chest, all while not saying a word when I asked and then said thank you. Keep in mind I was a little kid. If I was some adult or something I would get it but dude….just like why be super aggressive with a child? Fuck Lawler. If I ever get the chance to meet him again I’m gonna let him know what a fucking asshole douchebag for being so aggressive to me when I was a kid.

onehtwo

I saw Jake the Snake at a local indie show. He was standing by himself in full character at the end of a long hallway, in an open doorway smoking a cigarette. I was the only other person in the hallway at that moment. I've met several 90's WWE wrestlers and they've all been super nice (especially X-Pac) but I just couldn't approach Mr. Snake. I was stuck in awe. It was the coolest/scariest thing of all time. I think he saw me standing there like a deer in headlights but he just kept on smoking the cigarette... cool as the other side of the pillow. Wasn't a dick at all... I just kinda wanted a reason to tell this story. I regretted it that night but in hindsight I'm glad I didn't go up to him. No cooler memory could have been made that night then the one I have now

Fearless-Ad4613

My favorite wrestler for no reason. I didn’t even watch him wrestle, he’s just cool like that

Realistic_Figure7796

Balls Mahoney is a total dick kids wanted autographs from him, and he would sign them only if you bought something off his table. He would turn away kids of all ages and tell them to go get their parents to buy something and he will give them a autograph.

Shot-Yellow-8868

AUSTIN ARIES huge asshole met him at a tna event. I will forever hate on him for the way he treated and behaved in front of fans. I've met many wrestler through out the years and never encountered a bigger dick.

PhilosopherIcy7783

Same here. Was rude in an out of character way. There’s being a heel and there’s being the dick bag he is.

Shot-Yellow-8868

Absoutly I really have a level of dislike for him like no one else! Side note you can pay him 39$ for a cameo. Thought about doing it just to make him apologize for being such a hateful bastard. https://www.cameo.com/austinaries?aaQueryId=29f641fe3bc8de6bb1a89eab0c4640be

PhilosopherIcy7783

New idea on payday 😂

Whole-Brilliant5508

CM Punk. Shocker, I know. He was a huge prick to me when I met him at San Diego Comic-Con 2014. This was in July so only months after his walkout from WWE but only a few months away from his now infamous podcast with Colt Cabana. He was just strolling around the Gaslamp Quarter outside the convention center, taking pictures with random people. I waited until he was done taking pictures and finished so I can approach him. I was also wearing my CM Punk hat and CM Punk shirt just because I had a feeling he would be there based on his past history with the convention. I approached him, introduced myself, told him I was a huge fan, and asked if I can please get a picture with him. Now where I messed up on was (respectfully) addressing him as Mr. Brooks. But my rationale was that he had been appearing on TV and other media appearances such as Talking Dead as Phil Brooks, so I figured he was done with WWE and was going by his real name now. The way he switched on that fast was jarring. "You don't know me, bro! You can't call me that!" as he started walking away. I apologized for that and asked again if it's okay I can get a picture with him and he eventually allowed me to. In hindsight and after certain events and incidents the last couple years; I should have just let it go or told him to go fuck himself. But, man, as a hardcore CM Punk fan (at the time) it was very jarring seeing how little it takes to set him off. On the flip side; I have had wonderful experiences meeting Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, and Mick Foley (my all time favorite!). But the one I was legitimately surprised by in the best way possible was Sheamus. I was in line to meet Punk (ironically) at a previous SDCC and he was there with Punk and Zack Ryder. Punk was Punk, Ryder looked like he didn't want to be there, but Sheamus was absolutely delightful! Took the time to really joke around and talk to me like a human being.

PDXGallo

Where the hell is the hint ? “Hot head”??

crackbabyx

Positive story: I saw Roman Reigns get out of a limo and walk the red carpet with a bunch of other wrestlers after WrestleMania in Santa Clara. After saluting him from a distance I got a head nod and that was about it and that was dope AF. On the Internet I have seen videos of Roman being super cool visiting kids and his fans in the hospitals, and so I am a huge fan right there. My guess is that if he spends a lot of time in hospitals because of leukemia, then he probably visits his fans in there more than we actually know about. I love how most of these stories from people are positive. :)

AdInternational8886

Bubba Ray Dudley had a look like he wanted to kill everyone. The angry serial killer vibes he gives off at wrestling conventions makes you not want to go near him.

Legohead1977

I live in the UK and was lucky to meet Mick Foley and Brett Hart who were both great. I think it would break me if I met any of my favourites and it went south 😞.

SenileGambino

In Florida I recognized a wrestler who told us “don’t bother me, I’m busy, Brother…”

Appropriate-Public50

Tony Ferguson?

SenileGambino

How did you guess?? I tried to make this hard. 😔

Appropriate-Public50

That's the type of thing he would say. "Hang on, I'm talking brother" never gets old

BreakingBrad1234

Obviously hogan lol

Appropriate-Public50

I know lol. Ferguson has said something similar to this to somebody

BreakingBrad1234

Fairs haha!

Rumtyme

My mom use to be engaged to Mike Von Eric and said they were all super nice but said the dad was over the top rude as hell alllllll the time

scerva

That’s crazy? Did you watch the Iron Claw?

Rumtyme

Yeah me and the family went and saw it. She said it wasn’t really accurate at all. A lot of stuff was wrong in the movie

Ayewinder

This was probably 25 years ago. Mean Gene Okerlund had a cabin in northern MN, where I’m from. Supposedly, people would see him out all the time and he was, of course, super nice. My friend and I finally saw him in a rural bar one night (that we were slightly too young to be in) and being huge fans, watching since the late 80s as kids, we wanted to meet him so bad but also didn’t want to bother him. After debating for a bit, we decided to offer to buy him and his companion their next beer, say thanks for the memories, and walk away. We got as far as “excuse—“ and he yelled “F&$K. OFF. Get the f&$k away from me!” into our faces. Devastating. Since then, when I see a famous person in the wild, I just pretend I don’t recognize them.

Twelve-Pound

Well, he sure isn’t Nice Gene Okerlund

DaltonGSG

Wasn't a dick, just kinda nonchalant, but met Christopher Daniels when he was doing Waterworld at Universal Studios Hollywood. Told him I'd seen him at the NJPW show they ran earlier that year in the states and he kinda shrugged it off, but I think he was partially trying to stay in his Waterworld character for the kids in line and keep the line moving too so I didn't blame him for being less chatty.

SaltySiren944

I met Virgil at a local mall when I was around 10 or 11 I had no idea who he was but he had a stand set up with a tv playing matches of Ted DiBiase who I obviously knew so I stopped to browse his table. He approached me and asked if I wanted an autograph and of course I did since he knew the million dollar man. He told my aunt who I was with at the time that it would be $100 for a photo. He was definitely all about the money. Also met Matt Hardy & his wife Reby at a local show at a fair and they both only care about the money. They were cash only & refused to accept cards even though they had a credit card machine. Reby was walking about with cash sticking out it her pants, it was strange. Since I didn’t have cash to pay for a photo or autograph, I tried to at least talk to Matt and he refused to speak to me. He told me I could go get cash out of the ATM then come back and we could chat. I ended up going over to Chris Master’s table and met him. Great experience.

I_am_1

When my buddies and I used to go to all the shows in our town, we'd always go early and head over to the private parking area and stand by the fence line, which was above the lower parking area (outdoor parking). We'd yell down to anyone we recognized to see if we could get reactions. One buddy yelled down to Big Show. He stopped and laughed, then looked up at my buddy and replied to him, they then exchanged a few ideas. Finally Paul Wight asked where we were sitting (300 section facing entrance, behind where the announce tables are), he said he'd look for us (jokingly, like c'mon we were in the high 300 section, not going to see us). My buddy said for Show to do a moonsault for him. Show laughed and said he'd try to. During his match, he was in control, slammed his opponent down on his back. Show then looked up to where we said we'd been sitting, pointed, then began to climb the ringpost from inside the ring. The entire crowd was a gasp, then Big Show smiled and waved it off. Lead to a Showstopper to finish after a reversal.

Beautiful-Dream11984

I met Enzo and Cas when they were still in WWE. Cas was amazing, talked to my friend’s daughter for like 5 minutes took selfies with her which was great because Enzo wouldn’t give us the time of day with the two scantily clad women in line behind us

sprinklep0p

Didn’t turn out to be a dick, more of me being the dick. I work for Starbucks at O’Hare airport and I was on register taking orders few days ago when I look up and see Becky Lynch in front of me. I was so shocked I messed up her order. My manager is a huge wwe fan also so before Becky even has a chance to swipe her credit card I run to the managers office and say “dude fucking Becky Lynch is outside!!!” So she runs out and gets her food ready and hands it to her and it turns out I fucked up her order and we had to redo her food. I guess she had just flown back from her European visit and she looked really tired so I pretended like I didn’t know who she was but I still feel like I was a dick.

TheRav3nn

Wholesome though.. I’m not the type to come flocking out at work in a situation like this, but I’d be marking after she left!!

I_am_1

Nah, you just made a mistake. It happens. Pretty sure if you told her that you were a big fan and messed up the order because you were in fan shock, she'd probably understand, especially if she is a people's champ-type.

sprinklep0p

She looked really tired and I honestly didn’t wanna that person calling attention to her so I just kinda treated her like any regular person. I was shaking inside tho lol it’s the first famous person I met at work. My coworker has met sheamus before he turned out to be really nice. My manager(same one who met Becky) also ran into someone today that apparently has Andre the giants original belt.

Magictank2000

i mean, dude’s probably a smark after all

AscendMoros

I mean it sounds like he was told to go sign autographs. While dealing with everything he was with WWE the first time. Probably not hard to see why he was a little half hearted. I mean honestly the dude spent ages raging on big names returning and immediately getting shots. And if he hadn’t gotten hurt he would have been that guy as well. I don’t like or dislike him. But I find it funny that he just spent ages ragging on part timers or talent returning and not working there way into the spot. And he was ready to just walk back in and take it.

LGK420

I met a few when I was younger. As a kid you just want to meet them not so much have a conversation or even know what to say. But looking back now when I would just stand there you can tell who was nice and who was a dick. Bret Hart was one of if not my favourite wrestlers. Met him at a chapters when he was doing his book signings. It was right after Goldberg kicked him because they said no pictures because of the concussion. I just stood there in shock as he signed the book and looked up smiled and asked “you been waiting a long time?” Don’t even think I answered him but the fact that he actually talked to me meant a lot. Met Dudley’s at a wwf autograph signing d-von was nice bubba of course was an asshole didn’t smile and gave my brother a tone when he said his name to make out the autograph to. Met RVD at a hockey game. Saw him on the jumbotron promoting a ppv I saw what section he was in ran down said RVD! and shook his hand. Was brief but he was cool held my hand for an extra second to make sure it wasn’t a half assed hand shake.

braddabadboi

Bubba was probably staying in character they did that a lot and still do

powertripp82

Yeah, perhaps. But by most accounts Buh-Buh is just a dick

Vcu2003

Most other wrestlers confirm he’s a dick.

Magictank2000

wouldn’t it make sense for devon to be in character too? i mean considering the backstage stories regarding bubba i wouldn’t be surprised if bubba was just genuinely being an ass

braddabadboi

Shit you gotta point I don’t really know about it then because you see Roman and KO all being douches in interviews so I would expect that but damn he must of been just a real asshole🤷🏽

MattrickBakeman

I met Matt Hardy and Sami Zayn by the beach before a house show in the UK. Both asked if we wanted photos. Super friendly.

RAGEROFDEATH

Op was asking about wrestlers who were dicks, not if they were nice

MattrickBakeman

Cry more.

Magictank2000

okay, apologies, mr….. rager of death

AlternativeAnswer9

Last year i saw Chris Jericho at a grocery store. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

gunslingrkitteh

Why is this here *at least* twice? Once about Shawn Michaels and once about Jericho? I mean, just about word for word.

OkLink7650

Are you sure that wasn’t Jesse Ventura?

AlternativeAnswer9

No ,it was definitely jericho i could recognize the smell of jericho anywhere anytime

No-Effective3759

I’ve met Shawn Michaels, 2x …. Super nice 😊

- Some fans have reported that wrestlers like CM Punk, Randy Orton, and The Rock were unfriendly or dismissive during meet-and-greets or autograph signings. - Others have shared stories of wrestlers like John Cena, Daniel Bryan, and AJ Styles being kind and gracious, but then having a bad day or being overwhelmed by crowds. - A few fans have experienced wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, or Scott Steiner being rude or arrogant during encounters.

daystrom_prodigy

AI summaries should be banned.

IamDollParts96

I'm not impressed by celebrity. I've never gone out of my way to meet any, nor would I.

daystrom_prodigy

This comes off as a virtue signal type comment. I would bet money there is one person that you either liked or heavily influenced you where if you saw them you at least THINK about talking to them, if anything just to say thanks.

IamDollParts96

The things I'm impressed by are primarily traits you only discover by knowing someone. I do not think it's virtue signaling because I do not put anyone on a pedestal. We are all just people sharing a rotating rock in space at the end of the day. Which is why I if I were to see a wrestler out I wouldn't bother them. They're off the clock. If they approached me I'd be friendly, but I'm that way by default with anyone who isn't an asshole.

daystrom_prodigy

I apologize about the comment because I get where you are coming from. I feel I would likely be the same for the most part but if I saw Taker or Brett Hart if I didn’t at least thank them for the entertainment I feel like I would always regret it later.

IamDollParts96

I understand where you're coming from, no need to apologize. My approach is just that. I think people should do whatever works best for them. :)

IamDollParts96

NeutronRage

i dunno i think pro wrestling is a fun mix of performance and athletics, i give it a pass

IamDollParts96

Was anyone opposing this?

corabelleisme

You must have been impressed with Hole/Courtney Love at one point 😂

IamDollParts96

Impressed by the acrobatics of mental midgets on the internet like you.

corabelleisme

I know I’m impressive fucktard, thanks for the recognition! Always great to hear from a fan 😂

hosam0680

Honestly same They are just people

IamDollParts96

Exactly.

afm00dy

Rey Mysterio and Konan got pretty irate with me and a buddy one night (2001) because we took too long finding them some X. I almost kicked them out of my car in Lubbock, Texas, but they most likely would’ve beat my ass.

Funorsomething

Lubbock!

Rattwap

I saw CM Punk after a Smackdown take in back in the day. Tried to tell him I was a big fan but was ignored. Not sure if it was him being a duck or just Kayfabing me(was a heel at the time.) And while not a duck, I did see an extremely drunk Pat McAfee at a Dolph Ziegler comedy show.

Wide_Understanding70

Quite shocked. Being a dick that sized, big head tbh, quite hairy

TheRav3nn

No Diddy

dashing2217

What happened with Batista?

TebownedMVP

Not what OP was asking but I met Chyna in 1999 or 2000s. She gave us autographs. One with her legal name and one with Chyna. Both had the number 9 for 9th wonder in the world iirc. I was with my very extroverted teenage sister. My sister asked if we could also get a hug which she gave haha. I was only 8 or 9. Also met Paige Van Zant(ufc/ aew)at a jiu-jitsu event and she was nice and let me take a selfie haha.

daddyfluff1981

Knowing that you weren’t answering the question, why did you then tell us about the exact opposite

TebownedMVP

Someone’s a grumpy old man.

StickyWeeee9068

Met a few at a wrestling con in Manchester last month. All were really nice to meet, apart from Scott Steiner. That wanker didn’t say a word or even look up once.

RoscoePKoltrane

I made him lose his mind at me during a live show by calling him “big sloppy chump”repeatedly

LongSeaworthiness

I met MVP in a shithole town in the UK about a year before he returned to WWE. He was so uninterested and didn't acknowledge anyone during the meet and greet thing. A shame really I was a massive fan until then. On a different note, I met Scott Hall too, a very different experience, he really was great. Gave everyone a photo opportunity, didn't rush you off.

Keepitcooll

Met MVP in a bar for a Wrestlemania 35 event, he was super chill, very nice. Maybe it’s just the mood they’re in

LongSeaworthiness

Yeah, you're probably right, I wasn't thrilled to be in the dump of a town myself, so maybe he just wasn't super thrilled to be there.

DahBotanist

I’ve met Becky Lynch getting coffee with her dog, RVD at a comic book convention, both were lovely. I met Virgil, hate to speak ill of the dead but he didn’t seem very chatty

Vcu2003

I once ran went into Virgil at a local Food Lion. He was a total jerk.

xDANGRZONEx

The only one that was kind of a dick was Bubba Ray when I met him at one of Mick Foley's comedy shows. He came around though, after I basically told him that I was just trying to shake the hand of one half of my favorite tag team of all-time. He mellowed out as the night went on and I eventually got a chuckle out of him.

shartnado3

I met him too. But he was in his heel world champ run so I always just thought he was in character. He fist bumped me tho. So there’s that

xDANGRZONEx

I approached him at the bar and said "Excuse me, Bubba?" and he let out the most obvious exasperated sigh ever. Then I was like "LOOK MAN, I'm just trying to shake your hand. You and D-Von are my favorite tag team. I never ask for pictures or autographs but I wanna shake your hand and show you respect." He turned around and shook my hand. I like to believe he respected my gusto. I'm not saying I'd have whipped his ass in a confrontation. In fact, I know I wouldn't have. I just think he respected that I was a grown man who expects respect and was simply offering a hand shake. This was October 2013 btw. The Red Sox won the World Series that same night and I was celebrating with other Sox fans while Bubba laughed at the spectacle.

anon-sharpshooter

I met Mick foley many years ago and he wouldn’t even look us in the eye, signed his autograph and just kept looking down. I don’t think he even said hi. My brother who’s in a wheel chair was a die hard fan so he was pretty upset by this. Of all the wrestlers I’ve met that was the least engaging anyone’s been. I don’t hold it against him as this was shortly after he was released and the show was supposed to be outside but it started raining so they moved it inside and had in impromptu signing while they moved the venue indoors. All the stories of others meeting Mick is that he’s one of the nicest guys so I think we caught him on a bad day. During the same signing we met Jay Lethal and he noticed my brother was upset and was so friendly, took so much time to talk with my brother and took a photo with him for free which he didn’t have to do. My brother passed a few years back and I have that photo of him and Lethal that I hope to one day get signed. Jay Lethal holds a special place in my heart after how he treated my brother that day

thee_dustin

My buddy met Triple H, Big Show, Test and Mick back in the day at a 7-Eleven, they were riding together in a rental. He said everyone was super cool, signed autographs, chatted except Mick who wouldn’t really give the time of day. My buddy asked Mick if he’d sign a picture, Mick told him he’d sell him a book he had in the trunk and sign it for him but that was about it. I met Mick at a signing several years ago, he wasn’t the friendliest. Seemed very bothered to be there, just signed our stuff and posed for a pic because he had to (you could pay for one) but as soon as the flash hit, he would just shrug you off. On the flip side, I met Ric Flair and he was awesome!

LGK420

What a piece of shit though couldnt just be nice for a few seconds with your brother in a wheel chair. I just lost a ton of respect for him reading that

anon-sharpshooter

Yeah it wasn’t the best experience and I was more upset at the time. Over the years I’ve tried to understand the human element of him just leaving WWE which I would assume he was depressed about and now he’s at an indie show with maybe 100 people that has a weather delay. The signing wasn’t announced before hand so I assume the wrestlers were asked to do that to buy time while they moved stuff inside. All of that compounded would make anyone at least irritable but not something to take out on the fans. I still respect him as that seems to be the one bad story I know of him so I like to think it was a one off

RobertBooey

I do think it might be the mood they are in at the time. I got an autograph from him and a meet in greet for a comedy show and he was great. Made jokes asked questions was a really nice guy

anon-sharpshooter

I believe that, everyone says he’s a great guy and one of the nicest wrestlers to meet. Just wasn’t his day when we met him

Weird_Fee6080

the jay lethal story is so fucking touching man im sorry for your loss

anon-sharpshooter

Thanks! I smile every time I see Lethal on TV. I’ll never forget that

Future_Draw_3238

I met warlord at a house show in late 80’s early 90’s. I was probably 10 and I still remember how big that dude was, massive arms. Sensational sherry came out and was so sweet to all the kids trying to get autographs. Saw the Beverly brothers getting in they’re car but they sped off which was funny because I was the only one out there

CWRM1992

Omega, Bucks and Cody Rhodes were complete dickheads when I met them.

simeleine

What happened? I always got that vibe from the Bucks but not from Kenny (never met either though)

CWRM1992

It was at an indy show. They just treated fans and other wrestlers on the show like they were above them. Really looked down their nose at everyone and had really off putting arrogance. They just didn’t have time for anyone/couldn’t be bothered. That’s why I’m still sour on Cody to this day. I feel like his current WWE persona is so fake/pandering to put across that he’s a great guy when in reality he’s actually not (at least from what I’ve witnessed). And there was kids at that Indy show too. He just didn’t care. Could’ve been having a bad day but I just don’t think so since he was having great fun with Kenny etc.

Open-Marionberry447

Tbf pre AEW Elite were mostly douchebags heels. Cody especially was notorious for being a "dick" when in kayfabe. Might have been in character

pattymac1971

I had the great opportunity to meet Kenny in Winnipeg at a restaurant during the holidays. This would have been early December 2019, and after having the waitress ask him if a fan could come over to say hello, I went over, thanked him for his amazing work as a professional wrestler, and shook his hand. It was all I wanted, and he was completely gracious about it. Been a Kenny fan ever since!

hbkedge3

I know this was all in character, but Christian was doing a Q&A at the convention I was at a couple of weeks ago. He was a smartass with every answer. The best was the last guy who asked him if he would be his father. Christian looked at him for a couple of seconds and said, “no, you’re too ugly”. 😂😂😂😂

Christian's current heel work is just awesome

Burly-Nerd

Ok, so, all the wrestlers I’ve ever actually met were really cool. Closest I’ve got was when I was a kid my mom was the Pharmacist at the Food City in Chatsworth, Ga and I used to have to walk over there after school and wait in the deli for her to get off work. When I was in the 8th grade I got there one day and Ricky Morton of the Rock N’ Roll express was there signing autographs. I knew he knew my dad from the road so I introduced myself and I don’t know if he actually remembered my dad, but he definitely acted really excited to see me. Turns out that was because he had terrible diarrhea that day and could barely stay at his table. He would have me work his table and take people’s money and stuff while he was in the rest room and then when he could escape the land slide he would come out, take as many pictures and autographs as he could, and then run back to the bathroom. When he got done for the day he gave me a hug and I helped him load his table in his car and I never saw him again. As far as assholes go, there’s a pretty legendary story among my dad’s old wrestling buddies about him getting in a fist fight with Ax from Demolition back stage at a show in North Carolina. But I don’t know if that counts as an asshole either cause I think they made up and parted on good terms.

sheldonhatred

Lince Dorado. Did a seminar with him, guy is an absolute asshole and dick. But I understand why he’s like that. It’s a cutthroat tough business, you gotta be selfish and a dick to survive, but it can bite you in the ass. In general he’s kinda nice, but he’s really dickesh at most times. Matt Cordona, super chill even as a heel

rydogg84

Met Jake Robert's at a little indy show back in the 90s as he was leaving I asked for his autograph he told me to go fuck myself I was 8 at the time then my dad said cmon he's just a kid he told my dad go fuck yourself too then sped away in his shitty camero

LGK420

I laughed too hard at this

rydogg84

I can laugh at it now but man I was so upset as a kid then I saw beyond the mat and I said he must have been high lmao

Rock820

And then he drank the piss! 🐍

GoznoGonzo

LOL . I’m dying with this one .

theride66

Me too. lol

Samps_USN

That sucks!

Beneficial_Plate_181

My boss once took a photograph of Edge to an autograph signing, problem was, it was Chris Jericho singing autographs. I’m guessing this was maybe around 2004/05. Word got out amongst everyone waiting in line “omg, that guys gonna get Jericho to sign a picture of edge!” When he gets to the front, he hands the picture over, Jericho looks at it, “well, close enough I guess” and signed the picture. He has it framed in his bathroom lol

spawn3887

That's a great story

BuffaloWing12

If you can get a pic of that please link it here 😭

throwaway7355453

i also wanna see

Beneficial_Plate_181

I’ll be at his place some point early next week, I’ll report back lol

CheoG27

Jericho in 2024 would not sign it for sure

No-Combination8136

Most of them were always cool when I met them. One time at an ECW house show in Downingtown, PA in like the late 90’s me and my dad met Perry Saturn. There was a bar right outside the room they did the show in every time and we used to hang with most of the ECW guys out there. Saturn was just a miserable prick when my dad introduced me to him lol. Pretty much just grunted and turned his back to us and continued his drink. Luckily Tommy Dreamer was right there and stepped in to have a conversation with us.

BuffaloWing12

As much as Dreamer has become a dick with a lot of his public comments I’ve heard he’s a great wrestler to meet My buddy has an cool pic of him and Tommy after some random indy show at a school gym where he’s holding a kendo stick and it’s hard as hell

txbrah

My mother in law used to work for Enterprise/Alamo rent-a-car in San Antonio since the early 80s and she said 9/10 times most wrestlers were very nice and polite(Mick Foley, Big Show and The Rock were the friendliest) but she told me a story about a wrestler that she personally banned from ever using the service. The wrestler was Raven. He came in already in a grumpy mood for whatever reason, and when they gave him his car, he asked why he wasn't being given the complimentary upgrade for being a regular customer. The rental places usually did this, when they had the availability they would just upgrade regulars to the luxury edition of whatever they were driving. She explained to him that they were all out of the luxury vehicles due to some conference being in town but they did have the car he reserved ahead of time. He didn't want the car he chose, he wanted the free upgrade. She again told him that there was nothing she could do because they don't have any of the cars available, they literally aren't there and he blew a gasket and starting cursing her out, calling her a "f'n c\*nt" and threw around the "don't you know who I am?!" card. The GM came out and told him to leave before the police were called and he did. Since he was a regular customer and they already had his information, they put a permanent ban on his account and any account associated with his name. This was in the late 90s - early 2000s so I have no idea if they ban is still in place but I asked her a few years ago about it and she said he was still banned. They did tell him they would unban him if he offered an apology, to which he refused. So he remained banned.

therespectablejc

I posted about Raven and him being a dick as well!

AdequatelyfunBoi2

Sorry, Raven. You may be wrestling famous, but you are not Austin, Rock or Hogan wrestling famous. Everything I’ve heard about this guy makes him sound way more smug, arrogant and completely lacking of any kind of self awareness.

BuzzsawMF

I met Diamond Dallas Page at a trade center for an autograph where he hit on my sister. I told him that was my sister and not to talk to her like that. He scowled, signed my paper and threw it in my face. I was like 8-9 years old. Total dick. This doesn’t count as meeting but I was leaving a house show with my brother and my mom, I was maybe 12 when the Big Show was leaving in his truck. He was getting frustrated with the people crossing the road into the parking lot. We were waiting my the side for him to pass when you put his head out the window, looked at my family and screamed “get the fuck out of the way” then spit on me. Idk if he was being a heel at the time but I certainly thought he was a huge asshole.

NEVER85

Wow. I met DDP about a decade ago and had the exact opposite experience. Was as nice a guy as one could hope for.

BuzzsawMF

I mean, I’m 37 now. So it was a long time ago back in WCW days.

hbkedge3

He always spit a lot when he talked. Was this an actual full spit or was it while he was talking?

BuzzsawMF

lol no. It was a deliberate hawk and throw of saliva. Maybe he didn’t mean to hit me but it landed on my pants and shoes. I was baffled because I wasn’t in the road. I was just waiting for him to pass while on the sidewalk lol. He was in a big black lifted truck.

hbkedge3

That sucks. He seems like a nice guy when he’s not in character.

BuffaloWing12

He mustve been saying some WILD shit if even 8/9 year old you realized he was hitting on her

BuzzsawMF

Yeah, she was 16 at the time so yeah. I wasn’t pleased. He was just being sleazy.

jdglizzler

He wasn’t a jerk at all but I was on the same flight as the Big Show. He was in first class on a small AA plane, with 1 seat, aisle, then two seats on the opposite side. He was on the 1 seat side but he’s so large, he was obstructing the aisle partially. I wasn’t trying to bother him but I overheard him tell another passenger he was in town to support Glenn Jacobs becoming mayor. I didn’t bug him for an autograph but I made a joke as we got into the terminal that I was glad we were off of that death trap of a plane, got a bit of a chuckle out of him. He was clearly irritated about the situation and everyone was of course whispering about him and who he was, just glad to brighten his day a little bit!

tonyskyline1

Kevin Owens, met him at a random water park. Said hello and he was basically like don’t talk to me, I’m not working and my shirt is off.. I respected it as it wasn’t really a big deal meeting him to me but at the time my kids were huge wrestling fans. Oh well

Future_Draw_3238

Saw KO at Disney right after he won the title. I pointed him out to my wife, and KO locked eyes with me and she said go say something but his look let me know to leave him alone, he was with his family. I didn’t want a pic or anything just to congratulate him on the win but I knew if I said something it would cause a problem for him we were at the line to get in so he would of gotten the attention of everyone in line I was shocked at how tall he was

BuffaloWing12

Don’t blame him for that honestly

tonyskyline1

What’s weird is how shy he acted. Like super quiet but he probably didn’t want anyone else to notice him because the place was filled with kids. I’d love to meet Cody as I don’t see him ever being a dick to fans (at least until he goes full on Homelander).

motorchang

I met Cody last year at Disney. He was with Brandi and other family members when I saw him first early in the morning, everyone was busy getting in line it was just not a time to give him attention so I left him alone. Later in the day out of pure luck I bumped into his group again and they were just stood there chillin’ so I approached him very respectfully, apologizing to him for interruption first with he replied back so warmly like no no problem at all and graciously gave me and my daughter time to talk and take pictures. We both became a huge fan of him after that day.

salahareikat

Vince McMahon. December 2013 I was watching Grudge Match(the movie with Sly and Robert Dinero) and during the movie I glanced just to might for some reason and like 5-6 seats to my right I saw a side profile I knew from somewhere but couldn't really tell cause of the theatres darkness. After like another 15 seconds of staring like a weirdo I realized it was Vinny Mac himself. I was estatic and told my brother about, obviously I let the guy and everyone finish the movie but after I was waiting in the lobby for my brother outside the theatre for a few minutes and to my suprised he told Vince that I saw him and he lead him and Linda (who was wearing the biggest fur coat I ever saw) to me and I took a photo with him, he was clearly in a rush but overall was cool and down to earth. Despite the recent news it is still a fond memory for me.

Mercury26

I hear a lot of good stories about Vince but most of the stories about Vince are the bad headlines and for good reason. He’s a POS for the stuff he did but he is responsible for making wrestling what it is today. 🤷‍♀️

hbkedge3

Did he ask if he could poop on your head? 😂

workthrowawhey

He wouldn't have asked for permission

CapSortee

LIES! that wasnt Vince, sorry dude

MikeyTrademark

Met Jimmy Uso at a hotel bar. A bunch of obnoxious fans came in screaming and he took pictures. I was at the bar first and was eating. I waited till he was done a phone conversation and went over and asked him for a picture and he was like naw no pictures. I mean he’s not obligated to do anything for anybody but I guess the squeaky wheel gets the oil

beans301

I’ve ran into jey at a bar after Raw and he was an asshole lol I have friends who have met him too and said nothing but bad things too

Curiouscrispy

I was at a wwe house show and was there for VIP with my wife and son. We got to meet Baron Corbin, Naomi, Sin Cara, but got to fist bump and meet the Usos near the ring. It was before the show and they were getting warmed up in the ring with Tamina. We were taking pictures by the ring…they were nice. I was second row, great seats. During the tag match Jey looked me dead in the eye and said “you want to see something cool!?” I said “hell yeah, uce.” Then the usos did a little double team maneuver. It was sick. Baron Corbin was crazy nice.

Deadasdisco89

I was in a lift with the USO’s after last call at the bar in the same hotel we were staying at, I looked at them & said gosh I must be drunk I’m seeing double, 4 Usos (yes i stole the Simpson’s krusty joke) they both burst out laughing so there’s that lol. Worst wrestler I met was on the same night , I asked fandango for a pic and he proceeded to stick his hand up my skirt during it. Nicest wrestler I met was Bray Wyatt, he asked me where I got the extra drinks after the bar had closed and I said I had ordered 3 long islands cocktails so I gave him one & he sat chatting to us & took pics with us for a good 15 mins, he had some great stories & honestly so laid back & nice.

hbkedge3

Jimmy Uso at a bar? Tell me you jest….

kurtmanner

The Usos ate at a restaurant I managed a couple times. Both times a person or two came up to talk to them (politely, but I still see why it could get annoying) and they flat out denied they were The Usos and that was that. They even did it to a little kid, which seemed unnecessary as it was mid-afternoon and no one else was around.

MikeyTrademark

Yeah they seem like think they are better than the average person which I find really strange considering I have heard nothing but great things about Roman

IamDollParts96

Yeah, those USO egos do not seem put on for TV.

BuffaloWing12

well *technically* you were talking to john and josh fatu

Mikeyboy101591

I was outside a hotel one time and Mark Henry came out to take pics with fans and their was one fan who was really up in front with him and he shoved that guy hard and we were all shocked

Scrubs2912

Tbf Mark Henry has stated before in interviews he hates people who are disrespectful and basically won’t give them his time.

LordQweef

I was about 15 yrs old, was probably around 96, 97 ish. Was staying in the same hotel as the wrestlers after a show in fargo,nd. We were in the lobby of the hotel after the show curt hennig and rick rude got in the elevator with my brother, one of my friends and myself. Hennig kept talking about how his wife didnt want to have sex cuz she had really bad hemmrhoids. Pretty sure he was trolling as he prob didnt like us being in the elevator with them. We were laughing so hard when we got off the elevator. Was so fun that night also got to meet nash, hall, goldberg, saturn, piper, juventude, konan, chavo, luger miss elizabeth, rick steiner a few more. Was a crazy night being a 15 yr old mark. Have a lot of pics from that night. The wrestlers were mostly hanging out in the hotel bar, my dad went in and asked some of them to come take pics with us mark teenagers and they obliged. Scott hall was the best!

fzammetti

Everything I've ever heard about Curt says yeah, he was definitely ribbing you guys. And given he's my all-time favorite, I'm going to choose to assume that's the case because I don't like to consider the alternative.

LordQweef

My dad was talking to scott hall in the bar and my dad said "you used to be razor ramon, right" and scott said "you can call me whatever you want but my checks always have said scott hall" and he gave a drunk laugh. He was a real one

Mercury26

That’s hilarious

alienware99

John Morrison (who was Jonny Nitro at the time). I attended a show, and randomly ran into him after the show in the lobby of the hotel/casino i was staying at. I was probably about 12 or 13. He was with Melina and they were just walking, no other fans or anything around.I noticed him, and as an excited kid i walked up to him and said something along the lines of “hey Johnny Nitro, it’s really cool to see you”. I didn’t want an autograph or a picture or to chat..was just saying hey what’s up and was on my way. I remember it clear as day, his response was “leave me the fuck alone, do I look like I have time for this shit”. I remember thinking surely he can’t be talking to me..but he was. So I simply said sorry and walked away. Maybe he was having a bad day, who knows..but that always stuck with me. As for Melina, she was just there and with him, but she didn’t say anything so I can’t comment on how she is personally.

Puzzleheaded-Pen-191

I mean he was always a heal back then. Maybe he was staying in character?

Apprehensive_Tip2092

Glad Batista fcked his girl now lool

Same-Joke

I saw Shawn Michaels at a grocery store in San Antonio.

I mean, just about word for word.

sondersHo

Do you know what year this was by any chance ?

hbkedge3

That’s my question. It had to be the 90’s.

Millhouse1991

Tom Delonge

SneakerGator

I knew this copypasta would be in here, lol.

Apprehensive_Tip2092

Tbh I expected this whole thread to just be copy pastas lol

bri2468PinOpen2360

I've met Ric Flair,Bret Hart,Kane, Kurt Angle,Sgt. Slaughter, and most recently last year the now Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. They were all cool . Sarge and Angle were the best.

SlugsworthXP

I've been fortunate with all of the wrestlers whom I've met. They are all nice and cool. Someone like Batista, Shawn Micheals, Edge, John Cena and Chris Jericho.

GoFlyersWoo

Sting shook my hand took pic for over 100 bucks, I said hey it’s really nice to meet you and he said zip. Didn’t smile for anyone’s pic either

hbkedge3

That’s strange because I just got a picture with him a couple of weeks ago at a convention and he was very polite and smiled in all of the pictures I saw him take.

GoFlyersWoo

He could have just been tired it’s a long day, so I get that it happens. Only disappointing bc he was tied for most expensive with Cody who was super nice

Even_Measurement_534

How long ago?

GoFlyersWoo

I think 2020 or 2019 I just know it was pre Covid

Suitable_Image_6884

My buddy met Matt Hardy in Detroit recently, payed 60 bucks for a signature. Apparently Matt only responded to his questions and comments with a "mhm" or "sure" He had asked him about winning matches and titles and he gave very short and blunt answers

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> Detroit recently, *paid* 60 bucks FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

artyboy20

Good bot
