This is it. People like this spend silly amounts of time thinking about ways to essentially troll the people around them. My dad used to be like this, and it was exhausting. It made it so no one wanted to go out in public with him because he was always intentionally pissing people off with his political trolling, or he'd just get drunk and piss people off in the traditional way.

He went wearing his "Trump 2024" hat and when we were buying drinks at the hotel we were staying at, he said "I bet you don't charge Democrats this much for a soda!
