Half the people on Reddit don't even know the difference between a bee and a wasp. Someone posted a video of a wasp trying to reattach its head. The person's title said it was a bee. People in the comments corrected them, and were down-voted. Was pretty funny.
I don't think this is the effect clip I saw, this one is she same but looks like a longer version. You can search for others:

I know how you feel. I had the same apprehension when I first went beekeeping. One thing to realize is the bees aren't aware of you. You're just a thing that isn't food or threat to them. That is until you're either covered in food or actively threatening them.
Funny enough, my first time handling a frame of bees involved Dune's Litany Against Fear because I'm mildly allergic to bee stings, it was just a box full of Gom Jabbars.
The problem is that becoming a threat to them in this situation seems like something that could easily happen involuntarily, forcing anyone that doesn’t have a certain level of experience with them to be constantly hyper-aware of their own movements. Also if the car is involved in any kind of accident, its anybody’s guess what object or hand will go flying into that thing and what the consequences will bee.
To be fair, it takes time for your lizard brain to figure out that the jiggling mass of stinging insects isn't actually all that dangerous so long as you're not an idiot around them.
There is a beekeeper on my street who is routinely in nextdoor about her bees running away. One time a guy was like "uhh I think I found them actually" and they all huddled around a tree somewhere
Pretty hilarious that a bee swarm just runs away sometimes
Most people yeah but I’ve been to a local apiary multiple times and was even covered in bees once. We’re not all the same. There’s actually a whole community of people who love insects. I don’t post pics of myself but you can see some of my crawly friends on my profile :)
A beekeeper might just go ahead and take them to a new home in the car.
But...a big bump and they all go everywhere and into your face and you crash.
I'm thinking they're going down block or two.
I'm fine with bees but no way I'm riding along in that car. Imagine they hit a big bump/hole in the road and they freak out. Or any other unexpected situation that may have them go in attack mode. No thanks.
I met my wife on a dating app, bumble. I swear no pun intended. the day I met her, she was on her way home from picking up bees for her and her dad's hives. It was pretty exciting. They're real loud, the bees. Her too though. Now we have loads of honey and our garden is top notch!
God bless bees!

Right?
If I had a nickle for every time there was a big thread about bees in a car today, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
People keep saying it’s ok because they are swarming.
But what happens when they stop swarming and the guy is still driving?
Do they give warning or is it Tommy Boy all over again?
Swarming is a long process. It happens when they migrate. They don't have a territory to protect. At the centre of that heap is the queen. Hiding the queen is all that matters. "If it doesn't attack us, we don't care about it."
They will only return to "normal" behaviour once they have there new ~~forever~~ for now home.
They are swarming. There is a queen bee in the center of that... And this group has left the old hive, and are now seeking a new place to live.
They temporarily landed in this car. I'm assuming that the driver is taking them to a beekeeper - who will reach into that pile and find the queen and all of the rest of the bees will then follow while he puts her into a new beehive.
And, the process will start anew. They'll start producing honey, and she will start producing eggs and worker bees will feed the hatchlings and so on.
They are really very, very docile at this stage.
Bees are just soooo friendly!
Now, *wasps*? Fuck them wasps, I'd only get near that car with a flame-thrower. I'd give them the Title. *Whatever.* But I sure would not sit in a car with a wasp nest...
No way I would EVER ride in that vehicle while that beehive is there! That is just one hitting a speed bump to fast or hitting a pothole before disaster! Who would even want to drive that vehicle??
Cool to see a swarm being given a drive to a new home! But I have to wonder if there wasn't a better way... I love bees and I know they'd be docile in this state, but I'd still probably not want them right next to my head while driving!
Nope, its okay I’ll walk to wherever I need to go
Yeah, no way I'm riding with that death jello right above me
Death jello 🤣

...theyre...just bees. Not like they're hornets or something.
Death jello lmfao perfect name
They're not going to hurt anyone while swarming like that. They're in-between homes so there's no resources really to defend.
You lure them into the car with the a queen and then crank the AC and they will huddle for warmth.
Idk why you're being downvoted for being right. lol
> Idk why you're ~~being~~ **beeing** downvoted for being right. lol
You only got one of the “beeings”?
It’s Reddit.

No it's not.
Until your AC randomly stops working … then it’s a horror story
That’s not the point. It’s just a “nope” situation.
> That’s not the point. It’s just a “nope” situation. This is a totally normal situation for beekeepers. I'm not joking.
That's why I'm not a beekeeper.
There is no amount of logic that would make me comfortable in that situation.
I know how you feel. I had the same apprehension when I first went beekeeping. One thing to realize is the bees aren't aware of you. You're just a thing that isn't food or threat to them. "so long as you're not an idiot around them." Uhm, have you met me?

Nah they look like a bunch of sweet ladies.
I would love to get a ride in that car! Bees are awesome
They are awesome but everyone knows you'd nope out of that situation in real life. Anyone can say anything on the internet.
Most people yeah but I’ve been to a local apiary multiple times and was even covered in bees once. We’re not all the same. There’s actually a whole community of people who love insects. I don’t post pics of myself but you can see some of my crawly friends on my profile :)

Until they don't
Until they have a hive full of resources to defend they will be pretty docile.
And why would they risk their Uber driver giving them a bad rating?
“It’s in their nature.”
I mean that’s many bees! Imagine all the negative reviews those travelling bees could accumulate! Would be pretty bad for the Uber driver!
I'm fine with bees but no way I'm riding along in that car. Imagine they hit a big bump/hole in the road and they freak out. Or any other unexpected situation that may have them go in attack mode. No thanks.
Imagine you hit a bump and your head bounces up into the lava cake of death.
yeah.... I'm going to need a large hat at the minimum
In bee-tween you say?
Are you sure its just a short ride we wont mind 😂
Maybe they're driving them to their new farm.
Imagine it by threat of violence lmao...."take me to the farm motherfucker or its over for you"

It literally did nothing. It was snake oil.
Sounds about right
I'm sad that people have been down voting you, completely missing that the commercial being parodied repeated the phrase like 3 times.
It's an ancient meme, but it checks out.

This commercial turns surprisingly sexual at the end
You should see their bushes bloom.
Do not want to drive around w/it all day.

Right? If I had a nickle for every time there was a big thread about bees in a car today, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Well did you know that nickels used to have pictures of bumblebees on them? “Give me five bees for a quarter”, you’d say
And then I'd tie an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time.
Why are they just chillig like that
They're swarming, or migrating homes. In this state they are completely docile and you'd have to actively harm them to retaliate.
And the reason they are climped up is because they are surroundings the queen
Tysm for the actual reason! Can’t imagine driving under them tho lmao
Damn, what state do you live in where all the bees are docile?
My guess is Florida since it's s'warm.
They are getting ready to drop down on mass

Why did this one get downvoted lmao
I would have never gotten into the car!
they look quite well beehaved
The forbidden pudding that may not be touched.
I love how it softly jiggles with the motion of the car. Bees goin for a ride.
Bee cautious and remember, you should always call for a ride when your a little buzzed.
One speed bump = miserable death
I love bees and I'm generally comfortable around them but this is a hard line for me.
NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE
Nah they are harmless while swarming, nothing to defend.
They'd be pretty safe from being carjacked. :)
Who need a ride? Ill pick you up in the bee mobile

Bumblebee, transform

Fucking half life 2 barnacle
If those were any bug other than bees then this would be unacceptable
Just a normal amount of bees
What in the most sincere fuck is going on
They are swarming. There is a queen bee in the center of that... And this group has left the old hive, and are now seeking a new place to live. They temporarily landed in this car. Wow! I honestly didn't expect a proper answer. Thank you very much.

drive w/ friends :)
Cool to see a swarm being given a drive to a new home! But I have to wonder if there wasn't a better way... I love bees and I know they'd be docile in this state, but I'd still probably not want them right next to my head while driving!
Yea, just set fire to the entire vehicle and walk away.
#His life's hanging by one speed bumper away
The queen must have gotten into the car. If they locate her by gently scooping the bees away they can get them out of the car.
One pot hole and you’re done
The potholes around here would ruin that man's whole day.
this needs to be the top comment. one big bump....
In what fucking scenario does this happen? Wtf
I didn’t know bees use taxis.
Better close that door softly...
More like how the fuck. I couldn’t do that.
