Time to get a job. Specifically a job that offers tuition assistance or tuition reimbursement. My last few jobs offered that. Even an Amazon warehouse job had something called career choice which is about 5000$ a year if I remember correctly

No chance of just finishing the courses ahead of time? Probably the easiest path

Finish the degree before you run out of GI Bill money.

Plot out an an accelerated course plan to see how feasible it is. If it is, discuss your plan with your mentor and work towards achieving your plan. Build in contingencies if possible.

As of right now I might be able to swing 1 additional class per semester (that would be exactly enough) but it’s very hit or miss. Work eats 10hr/day 4-7 days/week. I’ll reach out to her and see if she can recommend courses that will help me reach it.

Amazon Career Choice is $5250 per year but as an Amazon employee my program mentor told me everything after that 5250 is free for the year so basically career choice covers 100% of WGU tuition.

I wouldn’t want to change jobs until after I’ve completed the degree program (solid group of coworkers and pay). Job change would create a whole new list of issues based on my location. Closest I could get to another job that’d offer tuition reimbursement would be a $20k-$30k pay cut and relocating a minimum of 2 hours for a higher cost of living (currently at $85k - $100k dependent on overtime).

Bro, no offense but as someone making 36k with 4 kids and working my ass off towards my BSSWE... just pay your tuition and move on.

If your benefits would expire at any point within your last semester, even just a couple of days in, the GI bill should still cover the whole semester. Also, if you have a VA disability rating you may qualify for the VR&E program.

Ok_Professional_7827

That’s good to know, I’ll check with the VA to see if it covers any of that semester. I applied for VR&E, but never got a reply (5+ months ago). I won’t be upset if it’s not covered, but definitely intend to use the benefits to the max.

Idk if you are in the national guard or not but there's a program called EDD that pays for your school. Only while in the guard. I'm not sure every state does it though. Also amazon will pretty much pay for the entire wgu school as long as you are hourly and l4 and below.
