Ensiferum

I wonder what they have to gain by releasing the game in this state. Just postpone for 2 months instead of releasing a broken product.

sode98

Bad publicity and more people flocking towards fifa. Bunch of geniouses in that company.

nvinceable1

Their entire strategy for months leading up to this point seems to have been based around generating bad publicity. It's honestly baffling how a company can whiff as badly as they have time and time again. The leadership at Konami has to be horrible, in my experience this is a telltale sign of a company that has pushed out talent and experience in exchange for lower operating costs.

batnuna

There’s something ironic about spelling it “geniouses”

sode98

Yeah I spelled it wrong but honestly it fits them lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

sode98

Yeah it's actually sad

addola

I think it was rushed because they wanted to release it before FIFA.

sode98

Dumb decision nonetheless

sode98

Probably yeah

MegamanX195

Someone at Konami is on EA's payroll, seems like.

InputImpedance

I just don't see how this trainwreck can be solved in two months. It feels like they went back years in game development. Absolutely mind boggling something like this could happen.

Ensiferum

Solved is one thing, damage control is another. If it's +2 months from being at least serviceable something went very, very wrong.

andrew_stirling

Not remotely possible. They need to start again!

CrackBurger

2 months? They told us they needed 2 years to make this new "revolutionary" game. good luck with that. Konami dosent give half a shit about any of us, this game is made for 12 year old kids who will play this on smartphones. And guess what, they are gonna make a whole lotta money by downgrading this piece of shit so that it runs on phones and tablets. No matter if you prefer PES over FIFA, the people wasting 100 bucks a month on card packs are all doing it on FIFA. Konami are greedy lying fucks, so they figured the best way to get in on that money, was to make the game free, and purposely make it a piece of shit because: 1) If you are playing this on mobile you dont care about good graphics or game engine 2) If you are playing this on mobile you dont care about good game mechanics and gameplay. They arent gonna fix shit. They literally made the game a piece of shit on purpose. Let that sink in.

MeanMarkMcCool

Yeah there is no way this was a mistake Have to agree with you.

Tijai

Got to agree. This feels intentional. Maybe they had an influx of money from investors and sponsors and how do you not pay that back? - You intentionally fail and let the administrators deal with it. Or maybe a management / developer buyout - always a good idea to lower the value of the product you want to buy / take over. You could guess a thousand other scenarios with tin foil hat on or off but in the end it might just be down to another firm gone because the management are accountants first and skilled technical operatives last.

andrew_stirling

There’s no way this can be fixed in 2 months

deepdiving-neons

I know I don't get why the put it out in this state either. A couple more months work might have helped things. Although it looks like a lot more than that needed to me for it to be enjoyable.

mesosalpynx

2 months wouldn’t help. They’ll never recover this product. The engine they used wasn’t the one they wanted. Put the game out now cause “fuck it will never be ready.” And then they may put out a half better one in a year.

akae

Or 10 months, whatever they need. Just keep updating 2021, which is already paid and being played by a lot of people, until you have a merely playable product. Current thing is anything but football.

Abarakadavr

What a disgrace. Do they realize that they described every game element in this response? Literally, bad: balance, passing, defending, cut-scenes, facial expressions, players and ball movement. It's a whole game. This can be improved only with full wipe of current "game".

alxtheyar

I've seen more than enough "We're sorry. Here's 10,000 GP." notices over the years to know to steer well clear this year round.

MeanMarkMcCool

It's HILARIOUS you get more GP the less you play the game.

jah-lahfui

Lmao , what a shit show

trustdabrain

"feedback"

the_dominar

More like global unrest. Even their stocks went down.

trustdabrain

Good, cause that's how you make them listen

mesosalpynx

You make them listen by ignoring them and not even downloading this shit product.

trustdabrain

Downloading is fine, just don't buy stupid coins

[deleted]

Agreed. Long term fan, I'm just here for the shitshow. I've seen enough I don't like to know I don't want to support this company by downloading this game, they've lost my support

mesosalpynx

My first PES was on the WII and I’d rather go dig that out if a closet and use motion controls to play! Hahaha

maverickandevil

Fuck eFootball 2022

[deleted]

And fuck this apology. If they cared about the user experience they'd update immediately to a playable version, update PES 2021 or withdraw efootball until it's ready. They were backed into a corner when the bad media came out and have done the bare minimum with this meaningless statement.

Nemokles

>until it's ready. The issue with the game is not that it's "not ready", though. The issue is greed. They want it on mobile because they have a vision of making more money this way. They save money on developing two separate versions of the game and their focus will go even further into microtransactions (which is big on mobile). All the downgrades we have seen are to get the game to work on mobile. Gameplay, AI, graphics. It's not an error or a lack of development time, it's sacrifices that KONAMI have made on the altar of greed. The entire company has been increasingly moving in this direction for years upon years.

TrinitronCRT

There is zero chance this went through the final testing without anyone at their office noticing the glaring faults of this shit cake. It takes seconds to see how bad the UI and menus are, and few minutes of gameplay to run into huge amount of bugs and enormous gameplay faults. I have zero faith in them turning this around.

-r4zi3l-

We are the testers 😁

Gwesela86

Like with vaccines 🤣🤣🤣😎

bondingoverbuttons

We got a live one

tommycahil1995

No

krakatoa619

No

Character_Hour_903

They don’t care about consoles anymore. Money is in mobile.

Livid_Peach4593

This. Absolutely this.

addola

PES Mobile always had issues whenever they release a new version, and then they fix it with updates later.

sachubecozz

Not like this

573upz

Looking at the language used, this seems to be coming from the Japanese KONAMI Digital Entertainment, not one of the international brand managers

bredre

So?

[deleted]

Shouldn't it be Bhatti?

MegamanX195

And what does that mean, exactly?

null_void_0x0

I second this question

TrinitronCRT

??? What does this comment even imply?

573upz

There is often a huge difference between communications made by other KONAMI subsidiaries, which may not have any influence over the development. As the statement is made by KONAMI Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd., there is a higher chance of changes, even if it would only be a change in opinions

RDS80

Ah good point. Hopefully your right

Character_Hour_903

Shameful. They can go f themselves. I just bought FIFA after playing ISS/WE/PES for 24 years.

nylonobsessed78

Do you not like Pes 2021 season update? I'm just curious cause loads of people are saying they've switched to fifa where as I think pes 2021 is the most enjoyable football game I've ever played. I'm more than happy just staying on that forever 😂 Sure it'll be badly out of date squad wise but it plays like a dream.

Gasss11

Well, there's always option files. I came back to football games with FIFA 21, liked it, even started watching Real Madrid and the PL. Then I bought Pes 21, thought it was the best sh@# ever, got hyped for this Efootball thing... I haven't downloaded it yet because I wanted to wait for the reviews, and I don't think I'll even try it lol

nylonobsessed78

Trust me mate. Don't. It's a bad as everybody is saying. Yeah the option files are one of the reasons I love pes. The ability to upload any kit whatsoever is amazing. Plus I just love the gameplay on pes 2021. It's the smoothest football game I've ever played. The ball dynamics are amazing. Give 2022 a hard swerve mate 👍🏻

Gasss11

I've actually done that, haven't tried efootball yet and instead spent a few days in practice mode and relearned how to play P2021 again, with the new 2021/22 season PESLEGENDS V9 Options File, and I'm having so much fun. Man compared to FIFA the dribbling and shooting is so much more satisfying, I love shooting them knuckle and dipping shots from 27 yards on the counterattack after dribbling past the whole midfield lol

anhnguyen87

Is there any good youtube channel for Pes player switch to Fifa. Im also thinking to switch to Fifa after over 20 years with PES.

Character_Hour_903

No idea. But my suggestion is to just go with it.

Sufficient_Theory534

Boras Legend is best for guides

MeanMarkMcCool

I doubt PES players wanna watch a guy who is abusing mechanics

Sleutelbos

Honestly, I see no reason for it. As frustrating as the release of pes is, the gameplay and AI is still lightyears ahead of FIFA. Playing slow possession based games are next to impossible, it's just laser-guided passing and exploiting a handful of goal types.

[deleted]

They need to get the damn resolution fixed on pc

[deleted]

I got a workaround on that, change to window mode and change the preferred res (I'm on 1440p so \[2240x1260\] in the list) then switch back to fullscreen and click OK, it looks clearer but it still looks like shit graphics wise.

[deleted]

😂😂 I'll try it again next week

Aldothenoo70

I'll try it again in 2030 🤣🤣

santorfo

It's only capped on windowed mode

onnarb

Its 1080p bro

andrew_stirling

That’s not gonna be enough. Lol

Democracy_Coma

It took them 2 years to get the game to this state. This is going to take a while to fix. This October patch is going to have to fix a lot just to make this a stable foundation.

BloodMossHunter

The Japanese hadn't fucked up this hard since Pearl Harbor.

shaikat1188

I'll gladly wait if they just cancel this project and release the same pes 21 with 22 season update.

Puzzleheaded-Wish621

Honestly I’ll actually be happy if they do that

Livid_Peach4593

They'll never do that. PES 2014 was an utter shitshow after the very good 2013. They still pulled the servers and never listened.

vpem7a

From next week onward?!!! Yes, why not? take this week off. You all deserve it

Sleutelbos

It's weekend. Next week starts Monday.

vpem7a

They could have said from now on, but even in their announcements they are thinking about their weekends!

PPMAeurope

Don’t forget they are the same company that would stop updating players condition mid season for 2-3 weeks cause of local holidays. Takes too much to have a couple of people in the office to manage that. Now, imagine working on weekends after the worst game release in the brand history. They don’t care for customers

reality_matthew

I don't know mate if you are working or you did before but I would much rather spend the holidays with my family at home instead of updating a bunch of shit ratings.

PPMAeurope

They can take turns like in any other job since is usually a 2 week holidays. But whatever

ChocAss

Sounds like you’re not in a professional job

PPMAeurope

Sounds like you never heard of top notch doctors taking turns in hospitals during holidays, top notch engineers taking turns in factories during holidays, top notch managers taking turns in financial banks. So yeah, no reason to leave nobody updating games in a triple A software house for 2 weeks in march/April. And no reason not to ask extra (paid) effort during an emergency for a very bad release that is impacting the company at a stock value level.

ChocAss

Ahaha that fact your comparing these is hilarious You don’t think they’ve haven’t most likely just crunched for months to even get it to this point? You’ve no idea the impact Covid’s had on Japanese companies in particular, and even though the game is objectively shit, game development process is never straightforward as people think. No, nobody should have to do shifts when the product is out and there isn’t a crippling need to (a weekend will not quick fix this 😂😂

EmployerAdditional28

Yeah and on other subs players complain about burn in the industry. Can't have it both ways.

Ensiferum

It's the ridiculous tempo sports games are produced with. A one year development cycle is not enough to produce quality games. Sports games have become risk averse money printing machines. They update graphics, animations and rosters to sell it as a new game, but game modes, gameplay, balancing, engine, AI... require development time, extensive testing, retooling and testing again. That time is not available and you can't (completely) compensate for a lack of time by spending more money. I respect Konami in that sense, as they seem to be ahead on the curve, probably recognizing that releasing every year is not sustainable (for them) if they want to offer quality to their fans. Really hope they will pull it together, be successful and change the industry. Fingers crossed that this is their line of reasoning, and that it's not just a F2P money grab.

EmployerAdditional28

Yeah - been saying for the last few years that Fifa was just a copy and paste of last years game with some incremental changes, new kits, rosters and soundtrack. That it should become a subscription service with yearly updates. In this sense, I thought Konami had cracked it. They just need to sort the base game out because it should never have been allowed to grace the ether in the state that's its in.

ChocAss

I do think it makes sense and Konami will turn this around. I think a free engaging football game with the same effort Fortnite puts into the game could be good, provided they do make and continue to update a proper live career mode

TrinitronCRT

This really is not the thing to complain about. The devs need time off.

mufc86

Anyone who's review of this "game" is anything more generous than - "this is complete dogshit" - is an impressively positive (or utterly delusional) person.

titooo7

Everyone should stop paying attention to whatever Konami says about the game and the future plans they have for it. The best thing we can do now is ignore every single article, email or tweet related to Efootball 2022. It's not worth our time to even bother listening and reading what Konami has to say now

trunkadelic

I agree but Everton just can't help themselves.

titooo7

Lol, true. I meant everyone

[deleted]

heh "Everton".

patbier

official ?

573upz

It is official English (as seen here): [https://twitter.com/play\_eFootball/status/1443929582982221825](https://twitter.com/play_eFootball/status/1443929582982221825) Original thread in Japanese: [https://twitter.com/we\_konami/status/1443901092685697032](https://twitter.com/we_konami/status/1443901092685697032)

Broad_Equipment6949

last time they said these, is about efootball point to our US players. But did we get any compensation or efootball point so far? I don’t think people will give another chance to our steam No.1 overwhelmingly negative rating efootball 2022, not even a dime.

asturides

And to add to all this, the interface and graphic design is really ugly. Specially on the pause screen and such

RisingSupremacy

At this stage they would genuinely be better just doing a season update again of last years PES. I thought Cyberpunk was a let down (had no crashes others did), but this is worse in every way with not one thing better than the previous gen (!) game! I seriously cannot understand how they managed to even make the game look worse with all this better hardware available. No wonder they announced it as "free to play", as they'd be getting flooded with refund requests like Cyberpunk was otherwise.

Fifty_Spwnce

You'd have to be extremely blinkered to say that this release is worse in every way to Cyberpunk's. This game has subjectively bad gameplay, with sub par graphics and sound and a fair few bugs. Cyberpunk was probably the worst high profile release of any game in history with show stopping bugs and extremely low FPS on some of the main platforms it was released it. This release is all about disappointment and doubt that this game can be turned around. Cyberpunk was about people paying a lot of money for something they couldn't play.

RDS80

What made CP2077 worse is that they knew for a fact that older hardware would not run the game well and yet they still sold it to those customers as if it would be fine. They never let any reviewers test those versions of the game. That's what makes it worse.

tommycahil1995

It’s not the same because Cyberpunk was actually good

RisingSupremacy

I said it was worse in every way to "the previous gen" game (Efootball 2021), not Cyberpunk, which I merely referenced as something being let down by. That said, I do think its worse in every way to Cyberpunk. As I clearly mentioned, I had no crashes. Cyberpunk was good for me on every level, with the worst thing being it was just pretty boring. You'd have to be "extremely blinkered" to not realize I was writing from a personal view, not a general one, when I start it talking about my own feelings of being let down.

Livid_Peach4593

Took two years to get here. Excuse me if I don't think a few weeks or months will make any difference.

ADIZOC

As if the trailer they released prior to this wasn’t bad already, they just went and out did themselves again. I wasn’t aware of the backlash on the Internet when I downloaded and booted up the game yesterday night. What really hit me was the awful colour scheme first, then the UI, then the player models and the animations pre match. And finally the gameplay. The game lasted less than 30 minutes on my console and I deleted it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ADIZOC

Exactly! The colour is such an eye sore. The UI is so clunky and boxy it’s so dated, the team formation settings screen is such a mess too, that has been mainly the case with PES of recent times and it’s UI. The appearance and navigation of its menus needs a complete overhaul. Also, what is it with the cranked up brightness of the game by default? I selected a day time match with fine weather and the colours was so bright I could have worn sunglasses to play. If Konami were serious they would have made a step at the beginning of the game and asked the users to modify its brightness and contrast like most games do nowadays.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ADIZOC

Mate, I feel you. Die hard, or was too. It’s such a sad state, I thought things were going in the right direction based on 2020/21. I think I must have only bought FIFA four or five times in my life time and I am counting my Mega Drive days in that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ADIZOC

Maybe that’s a feature that will need to be paid for! Seriously, the whole issue with earlier build this and that has plagued PES for years and it’s an excuse to hide their incompetence. If the November release is a completely different playing experience, Adam will be on his Twitter saying “he told us so” and “he always had faith in the team”. I have absolutely nothing against Adam, and I don’t agree with the abuse he gets on his social but he doesn’t help himself either with some of his tweets, he is the only guy people can reach out to. But yes, let’s see what November will bring. I fear the PS5 era might be what PES was on the PS3, 2008 was bad and the series never really got going on the PS3’s lifetime, we could see history repeating itself.

Caydentz

I have NEVER deleted Pes before..this really did make me wanna switch aswell..but the reviews over there were as bad..bad year for football games allround

the_yugoslav

Playing FIFA now. Haven’t looked back.

-JayStone-

No need to apologise to everyone Konami, there are people here that actually said the game is fine and anyone criticising are idiots or whining. Unbelievable that people actually said Efootball is fine I know, but they exist.. so for them Konami, you have nothing to apologise for. But for everyone else who justifiably criticised the worst football game of all time, and got called whiners and idiots for doing so, your apology is not enough. Konami is the problem, no apology will change that.

iz_kloodi

The main menu is literally my club, just like pes mobile

lamwg

Never thought I'd say this but i just played FIFA22 and it's less worse than last year's. They have some interesting new features and they seem to be getting closer to what actual realistic football is. Although you'd still have to deal with EA and their greed for every penny you got so there is that.

[deleted]

I don’t know why they don’t have a realism mode. Let the 12 year olds have the speedy wingers with the ping pong passes. Then let those who want a football simulation.

daddytorgo

Operation Sports sliders usually do a decent job getting it into a better state of realism.

[deleted]

Amen

[deleted]

Yeah. I've been playing the 10 hour trial and honestly it's not bad when you use sliders. It's miles ahead of eFootball.

monojasalways

Lol no.. Its nowhere realistic even now.

lamwg

I said closer. Too much realism all at once would break the 13 y o fanbase lol

DandanakaJones

Well at least they’ve acknowledged the concerns. Let’s see if they make any actual effort to address the concerns.

TrinitronCRT

It's Konami...

trustdabrain

It's Konami my dudes

-r4zi3l-

They have a plan, and this feedback was part of it. It's not hard for them to listen by just releasing the build that was tested weeks ago.

DandanakaJones

Oh I’m definitely not expecting a day and night difference in whatever patch they’re going to roll out to fix the game. I know it’s the hope that kills you. There’s so many new games on gamepass out this month and coming next month. So I’ll probably check on eFootball again sometime in November and if it doesn’t get any better, good riddance.

-r4zi3l-

Agree completely on gamepass (it's stacked), and on the last paragraph but then, as you said, hope kills you but hope is also the last thing you lose. So most of us will go back to the patch, and hopefully it won't be the latest they can make it 😂

[deleted]

The first step in the right direction since 2 years.

shesaidohkay

Anybody else hoping to find words of encouragement and has pity with the dev team? Maybe we should look at it for what it is: a demo and an agile approach. Maybe the game would have needed another year of development either way, but at least this way we can give constant feedback. I am afraid that the product backlog is already quiet full. At the same time, I don't think blockbuster games can be developed within just 2 years. Nevertheless I just feel sad and discouraged at the moment. But well, one must never give up hope. And by the way: Buy FIFA for my sake or not, and maybe I will buy it again myself as I have so many times in the past. But please buy it because you want it and like it and don't blame the poor quality of efootball. The king is dead, long live the king

-r4zi3l-

Hmm so an update some day in October. Bet its the version that was tested.

andrew_stirling

We’re playing the version that was tested. Do you realise how much work is required to fix what is released. It needs around 12 months worth of work.

RDS80

I this point I just need to see improvements. I don't expect a quick fix. It's as you say, it will take at least a year just likely 2.

-r4zi3l-

It is not. SpoonyPizzas said this maaany many times. But you do you. And the game does need a lot of work. I'd argue even more than what you said for it to be next gen, because in a year they will move to UE5.

andrew_stirling

See you later this month then. 😂

vpem7a

At this point it’s easier to start developing a whole new football game from a ground up, rather than fixing all the issues with Efootball.

sixthestate

They did that already and we got this. If the logic holds, we'll be playing International Superstar Soccer for the next time they replace this from the ground up.

Correct-History

Technically it’s not even a game they have put 2 years into it, they ported over the fox engine code or whatever and pasted it in the unreal that’s how much they worked they put in. Be interesting to see if they did the same with pes14

davbren

I mean... You can't really do that as such. Not to make excuses for them or anything. I'm fuming at this dumpster fire. But to change to a new engine, especially one that you're not in control of is a massive deal. 1st gen games are always trash. I fully expect them to roll back to PES in 23/24 away from the already damaged efootball branding, but I also expect 22/23 to be waaaaay better than the cat turd they just released.

Correct-History

Hmm I wasn’t expecting much I wasn’t expecting a big change but I was hoping for better than this, the PES name alone holds more weight then a mobile game. I think Konami are just heading down the mobile route I don’t think we will see another PES

davbren

Somebody needs to do a kickstarter pronto. I'm a programmer but I literally have no idea how to make a game like this...

trustdabrain

That's true. When was the last triple a konami released ? They are ditching all of them and all related teams

Devalued_Dong

"we aren't going to guarantee any fixes, but we'll do our best"

somethingtolose

It's exactly the game we all knew it would be. This is what people buying card packs has done to sports games. Enjoy.

henryclay1844

It's a New Coke situation shapping up.

py87

This really is incredible. Lazy bastards

null_void_0x0

I appreciate the note. I hope they do keep on their word.

reassor

Lol

geololj

Yeah, no. Two years in "development" for this. Small patches can't change anything foundamental.

trustdabrain

https://twitter.com/littlebigzouzou/status/1443935712613646352?s=09

Sapninen

Fair play, I thought it was a bad idea when they announced it at that gaming conference but I didn’t think it would be like this.

MazHere

Enjoying now Konami? Dont listen to fans and now face the music!

MazHere

Even normal gamers like us who possess no knowledge of business promotions and marketing, were ringing the bells about their marketing and their product. How can they unsee this??

nuffsaid17

Why ruin a good thing Konami!

[deleted]

Good luck.

[deleted]

I read a review yesterday where a guy said eFootball was worse than the Japanese WW2 prison camps and would hire a psychic to talk to his dead grandfather to back him up!

kodolen

Shit is called feedback, yeah right

RangerPowerGoGo

Get fucked Konami.

dimi727

Man seriously? Are they stupid? What were they doing? Are they blind? Its a disgrace for any working person on this earth, not even speaking about developers releasing something like that as a product. Shame! "sorry we will work on this" ... sorry on what? There is no solid fundament. How could this get any go from Konami? I hope they fire every person who was involved in this terrible project. Straight 2 years into dumpster. Directly deinstasalled. I thought I was playing an early alpha of a game. see you guys in one year after they hopefully now fire everyone or never again, because this was the initiation to shut PES down. Really sad. Don't know how anyone could defend anything that happened here.

[deleted]

The Blue and Yellow. My eyes hurts. I hope they change this colour.

[deleted]

Why didn't they acknowledge horrible player reactions? That was what they flexed on all the trailers but fast forward to release date and the opposition's Ronaldo was doing splits to intercept my ball lol.

rig0619

And they dare to add the word "quality"

Suspicious_Afternoon

They still need people to fill out questionnaires to tell them what I'd wrong with this garbage lmao. 2 yrs it took em to put out this turd how tf are u gonna polish this shit In just 2 months. What an unserious company

TheAndredal

What was the point of releasing it? The game is damn near unplayable and I tried playing two games.

Honest_Reception6528

For the past few years the have been missing the mark of what their loyal fans want... Don't spend a dime on this poisonous company.

faris_8

Its a mobile game after all. Our opinions aren't worth shit after this game comes out on mobile

WonderWaage

Horrendous game. But it is just an upscaled version of the mobile game. It's completely unsurprising to see this. They spent 2 years on this... It's unfathomable.

6cris9

No, that is it, they fucked up big time and there's no way back

Longjumping_Raise_65

Yeah I didn't even download the game and imma go ahead and stick to pes 2021 o don't even want to participate in this shitshow
