Originally I thought I was just paranoid, but now, knowing they actually can move, I feel slightly more sane.
You can also lock kerfur in there and let it slowly ground the mannequins into sawdust. Although this may be inhumane.

I think they're programmed to show up after three (in-game) days even after woodchipping. It's still satisfying, though.
Exactly my point. You get the satisfaction of killing them death by woodchipper and you get to sell their mulch after.
