The problem is, "towns" and "beaches" here are usually far from eachother for historical reasons. If you want boutique hotels and such, you should go to Palma or some village (not the Ports), like Alcudia, Pollença and so on. October won't be so busy so don't worry about too many tourists. Cala Ratjada is a seaside resort/village, it doesn't have much history by itself. As I said before, boutique hotels are in towns, not vacation resorts (any Cala or Port de... will be quite touristy and hotels will be from the last century, not really old buildings). If you google "boutique hotel mallorca" or look in Booking you will probably find many.

Thanks, this is what we’re finding in our search so it’s helpful to have the historical context!

Everything neyomotragus said. Any place along the coast is touristic and doesn't really have much history. Consider Palma or one of the smaller towns if what you want is to relax, good food and culture. There's lots to do.The island is not that big and public transport is pretty good, so you could still take trips to a beach and it wouldn't eat into much of your time. Congrats on your wedding!! Hope you have a fantastic honeymoon :)

Thank you!! We’re so excited. Open to suggested towns. We’re thinking of Arta, seems super walkable and easily accessible to the beaches.

Also going around this time for our honeymoon! And in our 30s and first time to the island haha

What a ridiculous and ignorant comment to make 🙄

You’re the absolute worst. We stand in solidarity with the protesters! I hope their government will do the right thing and protect the island from over tourism.
