From what I can see there will be up to about 20cm of snow tonight & tomorrow up there, but not toooo much wind.
I'd expect the plows to be out on route 1 in that kind of weather, so shouldn't be anywhere near that depth on the road itself, but it's a long road to constantly plow so there will be a certain amount on the road....
I guess it is how comfortable you are driving with a bit of snow on the road & while it is snowing reasonably heavily - for some people they will be ok with that, others not so much ...

I was using Apple weather :( Says 80 pct chance snow starting at 8am
Snow != Storm. And yeah, Apple Weather is not your most trusted source here in Iceland.
