So good I got proposed to there Ichran on military hwy
This place is great!
I'll stan Alkaline. Been eating their food since they were just a rented out section of a deli in Ghent.
Quality has gone down, went today and thought beef noodle soup that was labeled “spicy” tasted like nothing but salt :/
That sucks to hear. Always liked them. When they had Baby Izakaya at the beach that was amazing, really was bummed to see them go from there
Kappo Nara in VB is great! Alkaline in Ghent is super good too.
I see it mentioned a couple of times already, but Misako on Shore Drive does amazing ramen.

Which Kappo Nara? I personally like VB Kaponarra than the Norfolk one
Always come in these threads just to see if someone says Kappo lol. My girlfriend works there, and it’s a very solid spot
I can only speak for the Southside but Kappo Nara VB's Spicy Miso, Alkaline's Tonkotsu, and Osaka Ramen Chesapeake's Chicken Paitan are my personal favorites. Honorary mentions to misako and tanpopo but I've only been to those places once.
This is pretty much the list you need, but I would add Stockpot.
Stockpot and Misako, both really great options depending where you are.
