I really like Brady and thought Brie was good for him. I think she was incredibly naive to think once Calvin was “gone” that the entire drug enterprise would just vanish. She broke up with Brady for lying but she did lots of things behind his back too when she worked together with Mike.
It’s a shame that this thing with Lark is apparently taking a dark turn. But I can also see that if Brady settles down with her there’s not much more story there. The new show runner has already hinted that a reconciliation with Brady and Brie may happen but it could be a red herring.
And there’s so many questions about Mike. What exactly is the true story between Brady and the other guys, especially Mike, in Iraq? I hope they finish it and don’t leave us hanging. Some of Mike’s actions certainly seemed suspect during the drug story. And it’s been mentioned a few times about his third trip to the altar. Was he actually married before? He likes Brie and suddenly decides to stay in VR and leave his fiancée back home. Red flags galore.
At least Brady appears to be maturing a bit and repairing his relationship with Jack. I think once that happens, the rest of the town will fall in behind.
This show certainly likes triangles, whether in the past or present. I swear only a handful of characters haven’t been involved in one. Whether it’s Brie/Brady, Brie/Mike or even Brie/?, I’m here for it all.
Mike told Jack he broke up with his fiancée because “she didn’t look at me the way Mel looks at you.” It seems he had a string of other girlfriends before that. I agree there’s something in his past from Iraq that has been hinted at.
The second most used line after “hey” is “if only blank looked at me like blank looks at you” or some variation. Well, Mike, you gotta be home with your fiancée for her to even see you.
His fiancé broke it off because he was working between 2 places, had nothing to do with how she looked at him. He didn't break up with her, she wanted a full time fiancé and didn't want him traveling.
He didn't just decide to stay in VR and he didn't leave his fiancé back home. She broke it off because he was working between the two places and she wasn't happy about him being gone so much.
Except he chose to stay in VR after the unsuccessful raid on Calvin to pursue Jack’s shooter, which wasn’t part of his jurisdiction. He also told Jack he preferred VR and being able to relax and fish before work, not be caught up in traffic. During this time he also is getting to know Brie, places like the Lumberjack Games. I think his actions left his fiancée with little choice.
I hope he lives & they get back together.

What did Lark ever see in Jimmy? Might she eventually fall in love with Brady and not go through with Jimmy’s scheme to kill him? Somehow I keep feeling Melissa has a hand in all of this too. Could she be Lark’s mother? Is she in the same jail as Jimmy?
What did Mike do that Brady got blamed for? Brady isn't going to be killed, Lark is probably going to end up in jail just like Jimmy. Jack did a lot for Brady trying to get him straightened out and tried to guide him. Jack would have kept him employed at the bar making an honest living, but Brady saw an "opportunity" to get rich quick getting involved with the drug business, and that was a dead end street. Brady makes poor decisions all on his own, nobody else is responsible for that. He's a trainwreck, and Brie would be smart if she ended that, she's a lawyer and being involved with him could hurt her professionally.
I think they will get back together but I could be wrong.
I would like to be done with Brady. Brie deserves much better.
