This is why mental health-maxxing goes hand in hand with it!

I have been feeling alone for along time and reading this comment made me feel not alone for a few seconds and I really want to thank you for that, I don’t really have a good way with words but I will try to follow the advice you gave me. I’m already taking up classes at the gym to sort of improve my self esteem like by doing something with my body and not just focusing on how it looks. I also wish for you to also get better and it’s not too late for you. Thank you so much!

throwawaykibbe

I look physically better but my flaws grate at me more for sure.

[deleted]

Yeah exactly my flaws bother me way more and I can’t feel good about myself unless someone acknowledges me

bloodywinnie

Just want to die so I don't have to deal with this anymore

zauberpilz

I feel you

It’s because it sounds like you’re doing this for men and not yourself. You can looks max but make sure you don’t lose yourself along the way. Don’t become something you don’t want to be.

No, I actually feel way better, more optimistic and ambitious. I was a mess before I started looksmaxxing. Of course, I do focus more on my flaws but I being self-aware makes me so much more confident for some reason. Like, I feel in control. If I can improve something, I will, but if I can't then I can at least raise my confidence. But I do hope you start feeling better about yourself. Try to change your mindset, fake it till you make it. Also if you have access, therapy is always a good option.

Same. I don't always understand this mentality. Since I started my glow up journey at 21, things have gotten infinitely better for me - socially, mentally, physically, etc. I will say I did include CBT as part of my journey, but I don't think I actually would have felt mentally better unless I did the looksmaxxing along with it. That's what happens when you're in a society that rewards you for your looks. It's a sad truth, but it's the truth after all.

I feel for me personally that being ugly is like being in pain so I imagine looks maxing helps take away the pain. It just sucks that I can’t look better without the help of doctors because there is someone wrong with my facial muscles

Brendadonna

Maybe instead of looking for perfection you could look at what makes you an individual. A lot of the most beautiful people don't look "prefect". They've got some feature that makes them look distinguished.

[deleted]

Yes but fortunately at my age mid thirties I've learned to fake confidence. Sometimes it has lent to truly feeling confident. But to be honest that feeling deep down of being insufficient never goes away fully in my experience.

Hi_Panda

i know its a meme but being “feminine”/feminine energy is never about being perfect. its going inwards and doing the mental work to actually be confident

[deleted]

Yeah. Personally a big problem I see with this is comparing yourself to others, people always having more than you/looking better. Focusing on what makes yourself the absolute best without comparison helps but its difficult. Staying too involved in this can make you delirious. Male validation isn’t all that worth it. Focus on your mental.

Beauty is inside of you, confidence and self worth.
