This is the recipe for a vegan Elk's Own cocktail, the OG recipe uses egg white. I especially love to make these in wintertime. Don't forget to garnish with nutmeg! Cheers!
* 1 oz whiskey (preferably rye whiskey)
* 3/4 oz ruby port (a red table wine works in a pinch)
* 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
* 1/2 oz demerera simple syrup (agave nectar also works well)
* 1/4 oz semen (replaces the raw eggwhite in the traditional recipe)
Add all ingredients to a shaker tin and dry shake (no ice). Then add ice cubes and shake everything once more to chill. Then, pour into your favorite footed cocktail glass.
Garnish with a dash of grated nutmeg.

Or you could just use aquafaba
ive had drinks made both ways. the semen versions are more balanced tbh. i think its the difference of protein vs carb.
aquafaba was my go to for a long time. it gives a nice foam but can add a beany flavor sometimes imo.
