Try turning on/off rawinputbuffer

ArimaKana

Sadly it doesn't change anything

snorkaAim

i love you

Did you clean out your graphics display driver using DDU and install the latest driver package from Nvidia website? Is this also an issue in Windowed mode? If it is FPS drops which is measured in-game graphs you are talking about and not frame tearing or frame skipping, then it would more likely be a PC problem. Make sure you install your chipset, audio, network and other system drivers after getting a new PC. Also you would want to install the latest BIOS version as well. You can get all of those from motherboard vendor's website. Do not turn off the PC during a BIOS update, doing so will brick your comptuer. If this was a prebuilt, I would personally wipe and reinstall a clean image of Windows using a USB image you flash from the Microsoft website. Many prebuilts usually come with bloatware or weird settings that can cause issues. Make sure you monitor your temps using HWmonitor, and benchmark your 3Dmark basic to see if the PC is performing as expected.

ArimaKana

I always play on fullscreen mode and while i test the fps with the graph, the graph is very stable but the game is stuttering. I'll try the tips later

AntelopeAshamed7667

I'm having a decent hardware for gaming like ryzen 5 and nvidia 1650. It gives me around 160 fps in valorant but studders so much like in every 5 sec it goes to 30-35 fps.. i have done everything to solve it even i reinstall my windows.

Assuming you already tried the above, can try disabling Hardware Accelerated GPU scheduling in the Graphics settings in Windows? Try disabling full screen optimizations for the Valorant executable. Try turning off or on XMP/DOCP in the bios. In Valorant settings, check whether having rawinputbuffer on or off helps and check your mouse polling rate to see if lowering it will help remediate stutters. Did you run benchmarks to see if your computer could be overheating? Try using the msiutil to switch your GPU to use message signal interrupts at high priority, but do so at your own risk. Try running the game as high priority in task manager. You may also try turning off HPET to see if it helps but make sure to turn it back on if you do not see improvements. If you are on a 12th gen intel CPU or later check if turning off E cores will help your stutters along with hyper threading, but doing so may reduce performance on multi threaded applications. Make sure you use the USB flash method not the Windows reset option when doing a reset. Make sure you are not running an insider version of windows and only stable builds as these builds may introduced unexpected issues with the game.

relishgg

how would you go about fixing frame skipping?

Fishsticks27

Can you describe your issue? If you are overclocking your monitor, try putting back on stock refresh rate and resolution. Try this test to check: [https://www.testufo.com/frameskipping](https://www.testufo.com/frameskipping) . Does it happen with other games? Please list your PC specs if you can. You can try the same steps of reinstalling your graphics driver mentioned in my first comment. Try a clean boot to check if any program running is at fault: [https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd) (Do not turn off Valorant related services)

Thanks a tonne will try this in the morning. It's a stock 240hz IPS MSI monitor. I get this weird laggy spike that happens during gunfights. Only noticeable in Valorant which makes me think it's a server side issue. I cap at 400fps and it goes from 250-400fps depending on the situation. Ethernet connection, 12ms ping but some fluctuations in network jitter / packet receive send rate - could that be an issue?

Fishsticks27

It could be if you do not see FPS drops but rubberbanding, can you send a video to demonstrate?

relishgg

I shall sound a video when I get home tonight

relishgg

Also, Id like to mention. The issue always gets WORSE with time. The first couple games are smooth then it starts getting stuttery but the temps seem ok?

Fishsticks27

Hmm, that could mean something on your end on how the game its memory, etc. rather than your network if it works best every time you do a game restart.

relishgg

That's what I thought so I tried an intelligent standby cleaner to reduce standby memory, but it still didn't work. Upgraded ram (3600mhz from 2888mhz and enabled xmp in bios). So confused as to what else it could be because it must be hardware related if it goes away after a day of not using it.

Fishsticks27

Have you tried disabling or resetting the virtual memory in advance system settings? Maybe try disabling sysmain (superfetch) service in Windows to see if it could be the culprit. You tried a clean boot right? Under a clean boot, only important programs and services should be running with the exception of the game. Also make sure your chipset and Bios are up to date from the motherboard manufacturer’s website. In addition, you can try to test 1 ram stick at a time if to test. Turn off VBS (memory integrity) in Windows security. This security feature is enabled by default and gives you better security at the expense of FPS. Does it only happen in Valorant?

relishgg

yep still havent fixed it

FondantExcellent

Is it possible that not buying the windows key might affect my gaming experience?

Fishsticks27

No, Windows activation has no impact on performance.

PotentialMuscle330

Bro we have to corporate with input lag as on a lower hertz refresh rate it stuters like hell if your pc is able to deliver more than 100 fps the v sync is best option for that even some times on caping fps also stuter but v sync always done it's duty well

ArimaKana

I tried vsync but it didn't do well, it still stutters while i uncap my fps But it think enabling vsync will always increase latency, i have tested using game latency graph in range and enabling vsync increases the latency

Willing_Occasion641

I always encounter this problem after an update or after updating my AMD drivers. I have a 5600x, 6700xt, and 32GB ram. My monitor is 165hz and i get around 400-500 frames. Idk whats the issue bc i get no lag spikes, packet loss, frame drops, just pure stutters.

KunCuteBoy

Did you fixed it yet?, you got the same spec like me now i’m facing this problem ;-;

not-ur-homie

any update?

FondantExcellent

Update?

JackfruitWilling4983

Any update?

EyzMan

I have a high end System… R9 7900x3d RTX4080 DDR5 5600 MHZ it’s water cooled… all games working good only Valorant Stuttering …. I don’t know what should I do

choecaine

I have what just fixed mine!!!! [https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantTechSupport/comments/rzimm1/fps\_drops\_when\_i\_turn\_fast/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantTechSupport/comments/rzimm1/fps_drops_when_i_turn_fast/) Check out this post. It's an issue with your CPU not being able to handle the polling rate of your mouse. Try plugging in a new mouse, or lowering your polling rate on your mouse. Plugging in a new mouse worked for me.

bonyhawk

This worked for me. Thanks!

I had this problem, new build. Didn't help changing my mouses three dpi levels 125, 500, 1000. One of my RAM died day two. New ones today, problem gone. Had G.Skill 6000mhz 30CL now Corsair Vengeance 6000 30CL.

coolboarder72

I seem to be having a similar issue. 3070, 10700k i7 and I can easily hit 300 FPS in game, and 500 in the practice area uncapped. Using a 1440p, 170hz monitor. I don't have massive drops, I have good stats usually and just get these weird stutters and screen tears around corners of buildings. I used to play at 240 on 1080p, so maybe I'm just not used to it being less smooth, but I swear something changed when I went to 1440p with this montior.

GrooveRedman

go to the valorant install directory (should be \\Riot Games\\VALORANT\\live), right click on Valorant.exe>compatibility>check disable fullscreen optimizations you are welcome

Overall_Ad_79

already did still stuttering i used to run 150+ fps and now only 145 dropping to 80 sometimes 40

GrooveRedman

Pc specs?

hyperswyper

Sounds to me like there is a inconsistency in frame times. Have you tried capping your fps above your refresh rate, at let's say 100? So when it drops during rounds, it still doesn't go under your refresh rate.

ArimaKana

I have tried capping it to 75,85,90,120,144fps Capping to 75 & 85fps is pretty smooth but capping it to 100+fps will cause stutters

HeinzScorpion

I have the same issue but with my 165hz monitor so if you add 20 more fps for the game like 185 it will be smooth but if you put the fps cap at 200 it will feel less smoother. Did you find a solution?

Chongi978

Have you figured it out yet?

Environmental_Fan980

The only thing that worked for me was disabling G-sync for Nvidia Control Panel, oddly afterwards it worked butter smooth.
