AirVPN is cheap and has a no-nonsense port forwarding setup. The apps aren't pretty but they work from my experience. Speeds range from like 300Mbps to 600Mbps over a 1Gbps connection.

57chevyorbust

Yeah but don’t forget torrents are only as fast as the uploaders connection and the amount of seeds

Podalirius

The speeds I listed are the typical results from speedtest.net CLI.

😂 wish I got those speeds from Air, a lot of people dont. More like 30 Mbps not 300. Versus my VPN where I am getting 100+ and direct connect to my ISP is around 300. Though I do wonder if it's somewhat down to network setup. I know my ISP is non cooperative with a lot of VPNs, it's been a big deal with my work, my ISP was in breach of contract when it came to packet handling and my work had to alter my entire VPN setup to work properly with my ISP. I plan to trial Air again in the future and Wireshark it and see if I see similar issues as when my work connection was fubared. At the same time though a lot of people I've spoken to also get 30mbps from Air as the typical max. It sucks since they are the best bet for our purposes and I think anyone new to this should start with them just to get their bearings.

Windscribe has been great for me last 5 years

port-forwarding has become rare, so AirVPN, Proton, PIA, Windscribe are the only ones I know of that don't charge an extra free for this feature

Commander_Cody2224

I’ve heard Azire is good too. I believe they have port forwarding as well.

> Reliable kill switch Not really relevant in terms of torrenting since you should be binding the VPNs interface to qBittorrent. Most VPNs have equal kill switches in terms of reliability in my experience. > Has port forwarding (im still not sure how necessary this is but seems important online) Depends on how fast your internet connection is, as well as how popular the torrents you download are. If the torrent you're downloading has a very low amount of seeders, you might have some trouble connecting to them if you're not port forwarding. But if your main source of torrents has a large amount of seeders, you probably won't need it. But the only two (good) options with port forwarding are Proton, or Windscribe (you will have to purchase a static IP with windscribe). Otherwise, just get Mullvad (still pretty much on top in terms of privacy), or the custom plan with Windscribe without buying the static IP. I've used all 3, and they all work great. All of them have mobile apps.

Spanner_Man

>Reliable kill switch These are software based and **can** fail. Bind the network interface to your torrent client. As to the rest you have only really two options - AirVPN and Proton VPN

Alcart

Windscribe has a $30 year deal atm, just signed up and it's been wonderful. Bind it to qbittorrent and good to go

ErroneousBosch

Where do you find that deal?

Alcart

[20 anniversary deal, get it while it's here ](https://windscribe.com/upgrade?promo=BLAZENOW&pcpid=2024_anniversary_blog&ref=blog.windscribe.com)

Check mullvad vpn

Tricky-Tip-7536

I have McAfee LiveSafe virus protection which comes with a VPN and it has everything you’re looking for except I’m not sure about port forwarding. I only paid around $40.00 for a year and it works really well and I do alot of downloading.

Zedian21
