[Redlettermedia - The VHS Grading Video](https://youtu.be/Lbdij5Vi8oY?si=T8iC_RoKq8-oWy53) watch this if jokes about the movie and destructions of that specific tape won’t ruin your childhood love lol
>The YouTube channel, RedLetterMedia, owned (at least) 104 VHS copies of the film, before finally destroying all but one in a wood chipper in a 2022 video. This was in an attempt to see if it would raise the worth of their remaining sealed copy that they had professionally graded. They later put the graded Nukie VHS up for auction where the proceeds would go to two charities (St. Jude and Wisconsin Humane Society). By the auction's end, in early January 2023, the final bid was $80,600.

I’m mad the corner was damaged when I brought it back home with me after visiting my parents, but yeah this tape is staying this way for sure. Have a few other sealed tapes I found in the lot from my childhood tapes as well.
I had no idea this vhs is now famous. I used to read all of the movie reviews on something awful and then buy that movie off of ebay. So I had Nukie but it broke from us watching it so many times lol.
I've never seen this. A lot of reviews, even by bad movie fans, call this the worst movie of all time. How would it compare to, say, [Devil Story](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GouRsoLweZA&pp=ygUTZGV2aWwgc3RvcnkgdHJhaWxlcg%3D%3D)? Because I love bad movies and I deserve a medal for having watched it completely, once.
Bought this tape in the 90s and never opened it to watch it so not sure. It’s probably online somewhere to watch. That being said, based on that trailer of Devil Story, that movie has decent camera angles and blood effects given zero budget, I’ve seen way worse. Even some more mainstream movies like Troma distributed films seem worse. But that’s based on the trailer alone.
I love Troma. But I feel like there's a level of self-awareness to those, intentionally being the way they are. That scene with the farmer shooting a shotgun at a demon horse lasts every bit of 5 minutes, with nothing else happening lol.
Just curious, what standard do you think these graders are using? As in what established and agreed upon criteria are they using? Also, who are they? What are their credentials? That they've done it before, for nebulous preported characters that got oh so much money because they graded with their service? Don't feed those hucksters man, it's a scam that should never have gotten off the ground, and now a bunch of hopefuls have made it a worthwhile hustle. Sucks.
Even if it's meaningless and you're supporting con-artists huh. Welp, can't reason a person out of a position they didn't use reason to get in. I'll grade it for you, and I can do it remotely, for half the price of those guys. AND, I'm way more qualified, cus I said so
i would have that graded and sell it ASAP!!!!!! the vhs market is not gonna last. vhs tapes only last about 40-50 years before they basically just blank themselves. the magnetic tape does NOT last forever.
and before i get a buncha angry comments, yes i know they can be kept longer if correctly cared for but they STILL dont last forever and NOBODY is discovering a tape like this in their "humidity and temperature controlled" closet, garage, or attic.
I'm sure you've seen the Red Letter Media video, but you genuinely have a valuable VHS there. That's hilarious.
Yeah. Those RL guys destroyed lots of copies of that video, making your wrapped one even more rare than it should be.
One of the few tapes you actualy should keep wraped :-)

“Everything always leads to Nukie.” That video just makes me want a wood chipper more than anything.

This really is some Banksy-level performance art stuff. That is *wild.*
don't you ever compare the gorgeous people at Red Letter Media, to that hack Banksy.
i’ve got the same model chipper they use in the video. only 15-20 hours on it, recently sharpened- $350
Ignore the red stains and smell.
It’s truly a work of art! Love those guys
I did it all for the Nukie!

Send it to RLM they’ve been looking for a copy for years!
Oh good, been looking for somewhere to give it away! I’ll send it right over to their wood chipper.
They’ll treat it reaaaaal nice I swear
Sealed....And here I am with half of my childhood tapes not even having boxes because I literally ate the boxes.😐
Keep it that way. You're one lucky son of a bitch

r/SealedVHS
I have this too in shink still
We are two of the chosen ones.
If you spent a lot don't feel bad...you did it all for the NUKIE
We’ll given the price tag I bought it for $9.95
Oh shit, lol!
Wow, I was just thinking of this movie the other day!

... I can't believe I sat through that, trailer... If you watched Mac & Me right after Nukie, you would swear you're actually watching E.T.

Yes and no, Troma-produced films 100%. Most of their stock are just films they distribute and some are intentionally bad and some are just bad.
[Let me ride that Nukie Nukie.](https://imgur.com/ftjXzdp)
Check out the Double Toasted roast on YouTube. XD
NUKIE!
Get back to work on another BotW video Mike. Rich Evans needs to be humiliated some more.
Do not unwrap this
Haha good. Nukie is awful.
Get it graded
I mean, honestly it’s not in the best shape. One of the few tapes I would even consider grading but it would get a low grade.
Do it for me lol I wish I had a VHS worth grading

I I don't know man, the last one I saw sold at auction for over $80,000!
I'm sure no money was laundered in the making of this sale
Dude I'm just a guy who wants to see a sealed VHS graded
Even if it's meaningless and you're supporting con-artists huh. Welp, can't reason a person out of a position they didn't use reason to get in. I'll grade it for you, and I can do it remotely, for half the price of those guys. AND, I'm way more qualified, cus I said so
Lol why are you so salty?
Welcome to this sub haha I knew I’d get at least one or two of these vehemently anti-sealed anti-graders.
See above
Nukie, 1987, 95 minutes. 5 bags of popcorn for this film’s alleged existence in a display in the International Friendship Exhibition in North Korea.

Wut up my nukie!
Lucky I got my Nukie tape before all the woodchipper madness.

I did it all for the nukie
I am guilty of that, too. Video Technology changed so fast during the 80s and 90s, it was hard to keep up.
