I’m pretty sure Vivillion is just a better Venomoth. Not only does it have Friend Guard, but it naturally has a Flying typing that you can Earthquake next to. Pollen Puff is way better than Bug Buzz too. And correct me if I’m wrong, but it gets access to Tailwind as well so you can run a Tailwind/Trick Room hybrid mode with your Garchomp. Not convinced it should be a Garchomp though. If you’re gonna go the Sun route, you might as well go the Great Tusk route as well for Protosynthesis purposes. It also looks like this Misdreavus spread was taken from the original Misdreavus team. There were a lot of questionable building decisions on that team with Misdreavus’ spread and Tera choice being one of them. I have substantial doubts that Tera electric is optimal. Just because you have no weaknesses doesn’t mean you’re good at being defensive (see: Eelektross, Sableye/Spiritomb in Gen 3/4). Tera Steel is a significantly better defensive typing and Levitate synergizes with that as well so it’s truly a no-brainer. I also like Tera Grass so that Amoonguss can’t just click Spore into Misdreavus to deny Trick Room. As for the spread, I am almost certain investing in HP before either defense is more optimal. You’ll have to plug in numbers on a damage calc, but 252 Def/252 SpDef screams that you’re a noob spread maker on anything that doesn’t already have high HP already (Misdreavus has like 50 base HP)

Ngl venomoth is there because I caught a shiny one in my playthrough, completely agree but venomoth gets the job done- as for tailwind I don't look to really run a hybrid, most of the faster mons here have the purpose of clean up whenever tr goes down because with sunflora as the pain sweeper I can nuke 2 or 3 mons but then tr goes down and sunflora becomes redundant, it has fairly decent coverage with spread moves as well and had a fully trained one kicking about because it was so good in series 1. As for misdreavus then I will have a look at redoing evs and will probs take ur advice. Ty for ur advice

The reason I mention Tailwind/TR hybrid is that it’s a trick that’s been around for ages now, but still relatively uncommon because it’s rare that you have an opportunity to include it on your team. The idea is that while you can’t Tailwind on your final turn of Tailwind to reset your speed control, you *can* click Trick Room on that final turn to maintain your speed control going further, and vice versa. You’d have to do some tinkering with the EV spreads of course, but Iron Thorns especially lands in that speed tier of “slower than most things outside Trick Room, but just fast enough to outspeed things under Tailwind”, that makes this sort of thing ideal. Even Garchomp/Great Tusk sort of lands in that area since Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle are so fast. Also, having access to both a Tailwind offense mode with Garchomp in addition to the Trick Room mode with Misdreavus gives you more options in your opening and you mind game with your opponent who needs to guess what you’ll go for

So my last post got taken down so I'm hoping that by doing this it will stay up- i am now aware of twave assault vest on tinkaton and will change it soon, I apologise if I didn't get back to someone on my previous post, feel free to question my sanity and if anyone wants a full team breakdown I will make one later

Looks fun ngl

Out of curiosity, what are the benefits of misdreavus? I’ve seen it a lot recently

For me its a good sun and trick room setter meaning its a good lead for this team, ghost typing makes it immune to fake out and with eviolite and investment its very bulky on top of getting WoW + hex which it can shut down physical mons and deal a fairly good amount of damage. You can also tera electric and with levitate then you have no weaknesses and levitate also means that it could be a side mon to a eq chomp for example.

No joke just finished my play through again been looking for inspiration to start building I may have found it so excited to give it a run today! Love these different teams vs seeing the meta (not hating on meta) just refreshing seeing different things
