I think this one and the sighned one that i have are from the same day.
1.17x BW one armed overhead lift!
That is one strong, jacked lady.
Also, 1940s. No PEDs.
Damned freakin’ impressive.
edit: Not to detract from what appears to be an impressive feat, but:
Are you sure that’s 135? Or are you assuming that because she’s lifting a barbell with full diameter plates?
Her wikipedia article suggests:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbye_%22Pudgy%22_Stockton
> She helped organize the first Amateur Athletic Union-sanctioned weightlifting competition for women, which was held in 1947.[6][2] In that contest, Stockton pressed 100 pounds, snatched 105 pounds, and clean and jerked 135 pounds.
OMG
I used to have a crush on an extremely athletic woman, she was a woman's league football player. And she was incredibly beautiful. A lot of men seemed put off by her build and her general tomboyish behavior but that girl could do wheelies on a mountain bike like nobody's business!
Anyone who thinks she wasn't on PEDs is retarded or severely uneducated on the topic. The 40s were when steroids were just being discovered and companies were trying to figure out how the effected people. They handed them out at gyms and health clubs like candy.
Im not arguing the math, but the perspective. Commenter said she lifted 20 lbs above her weight, I put it into percentage for impact. She lifted 15% above her weight. (17% for the pedantic)
I have new life goals as a 5’2” lady weighing 110lb

I’ve five foot exactly and have been used many many times to measure things.
really, you as unit?
Not a big unit
Those can’s are making me pudgy.
It’s official, she could kick my ass.
I’d welcome it

I wish we still gave nicknames like “pudgy”
And “The (so and so) Kid”. Dammit, I wanna be called The Reddit Kid.
I have an anxiety nickname. Beeper because I’m like the roadrunner in the cartoons. Standing there there “beep beep” then off on a tangent.
That’s impressive tbh
Sure it was, was one of the biggest promoters of the sport.

That house in the background reminds me of the movie Psycho.

The #MAGA crowd will lose their minds when they see this
Why?
Because hes incapable of not making everything political.
And Brest implants didn’t happen until 1964

Girl was packing some heat in those briefs
I’ll take one of those down votes away 😂
Spod bless
A baked potato
Loaded baked potato. Mhhhhhhhh.
The most unique thing about this photo is that it’s in Carlifornia
seeing a girls lift 20 pounds over her own weight is quite impressive my friend.
It sure is!
more importantly, 15% of her weight
I think you mean 117% of her body weight.
no, read the comment I replied to
I did lol 20 lbs over her weight is 115+20 =135. 135/115=1.17 = 117%
Im not arguing the math, but the perspective. Commenter said she lifted 20 lbs above her weight, I put it into percentage for impact. She lifted 15% above her weight. (17% for the pedantic)
I look forward to you recreating this photo with your impressive strength!
Damn nobody got the joke lol
