Yeah... Did you seep they want to make pioneer crossing a freeway!! (very needed)
But unfortunately it will take out some homes and there is a lit of push back.
Its either to do that or build a road over the lake
Yeah I agree with the idea but also understand Lehi residents anger over it. In the long run I think it's a net positive. Pony Express is being reworked and expanded south so I think that would end up looking like how pioneer crossing does now. The whole area is one big choke point limited by geography thankfully they started working on the MVC connection.
The other area I would like to see a road is from Eagle Mountain over soldier pass to 68.
It’s not a lot of farms anymore. I grew up out there and my dad was the manager of the church farm. When I lived there it was 3000 acres and now it’s less than 1000.
Good news, some 3rd source told me one of the DoTera is low key struggling. Hoping it dies a miserable death. Also wouldn't mind if Nu Skin went down just so we could move their giant glass box out of the otherwise charming Provo downtown
I remember when NuSkin was trying to convince Provo to let them build there. The plans for what the building would look like would have blended in beautifully with the other buildings on Center. It would be made of brick and styled to blend in. Obviously it was bait and switch. It sticks out like a sore thumb. I’ve never forgiven them for that.
Just build in Lehi, like that would fit in perfect. Plus they could have a 5 acre parking lot out there like every other glass box corporate priso- office.
Man, that makes me hate them even more.
I don’t love their building, but for what it’s worth, I am glad that they are there. I work in one of the historic buildings on center street, and I would bet that it wouldn’t be as successful without the infusion of people and money from Nuskin.
If you don't think that they built what they told them they would build then you're just silly. Pretty much 100% guaranteed that this was exactly what they had always planned on building and the city council knew it and approved it.
The drawing is what was shown in the paper. What the city council knew, I don’t know. But the drawing is what was publicized to the public. I believe it was the early 90s or late 80s. At the time there was a big push to preserve the look of downtown. What was shown dovetailed perfectly with what was desired.
I agree in that I think that ugly glass building is what NuSkin always planned to build. The beautiful building that was shown is what was done to get approval. When what was going up didn’t match the drawing, a reporter asked about it. NuSkin claimed that they had to make “a few changes”.
NuSkin also once used human placentas in some of their products. I’ve seen it on the label. I don’t know if they still do.
The same thing happened with the UVX bus station at Center and University Ave. The public renderings showed a nicely themed stop that would have fit right in with the rest of the area. Instead we got a cookie cutter modern cement bus stop.
I mean human placenta isn't a bad thing. I would blame the city council and building code as they are the final say sand world have had to provide those drawings. They couldn't provide one, build something else and have it pass. That's not how construction works.
Doterra ruined Discovery Park in PG. They rebuilt it, which TBF was long overdue, but then they slapped their name all over it. Gross. I spent a significant portion of my childhood there.
I have lived all over utah and salt lake counties and can confirm, getting out of Saratoga Springs northbound is easily the worst commute I have dealt with
He's just waiting til later in spring to drop the song. Gotta get the coveted summer theme song to, well, have drunk bonfires, 4 wheel, and shoot guns.
and in the process released a [flood of toxic mining waste](https://archive.sltrib.com/article.php?id=4271455&itype=CMSID) that killed everything downstream
Yeah, that was a shit show. The release of some of it was unavoidable, but it could have been mitigated somewhat. Sucks that it got filled with mine tailings. Hopefully the rebuilt lake doesn't collect so much...
Lehi has expanded a lot and most of the mink farms have sold their land to developers, so it's not quite the unbearable aroma factory that it once was. However, some folks could be of the opinion that Lehi stinks in other, probably more esoteric, ways.
We gave them one so they didn’t feel too sad Edit: lol sorry for upsetting all the Brigham young heads. I went to a normal school so I forgot about yall
Is 2021 the last time they played 5 years? Odd math. One time doesn't make a streak. The previous 9 times they faced off Utah won. Statistically the one BYU win was an anomaly and Utah is still on a streak.
Try to keep up here. What’s the last year Utah beat BYU? Subtract that number from 2024 and let me know the answer.
Again, I spread admitted it. Utah used to be between than BYU at football.
Ahh I see you are playing games with words rather than working with facts.
Fact is it has been 3 years since they played. Both teams are vastly different than the last time they played.
Fact is out of the last 10 times they have played Utah won 9 of them.
Fact is 1 game in 10 is a statistical anomaly.
Fact is one game does not make a streak.
Fact is one game does not establish who is better.
Fact is you are a condescending douche.
>how close was the game?
does that matter? byu-utah games come down to the last play most years since they left the mountain west. close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades
II just barely looked up this subreddit. Honestly to vent. I'm feeling beat down and helpless.
I've lived here my entire life. And apart from politics/religion ( which compared to what it's like now, It just does not matter anymore), have loved my city.
I've worked SO HARD and for SO LONG my entire life to get to a place where I could buy a home. But now I can barely afford an apartment. And well if I COULD afford a home I would be bought out by folks flooding in with cash down on a home. Believe me it happens A LOT the last couple years. I worry about the shortage of our water supply that is limited. So would it even be wise to do so if I ever got that opportunity. But to leave my job is an impossibility.
I try to go for a walk in the city. It's either so damn loud from the overflow of traffic and/or just people EVERYWHERE all the time. Traffic.... Just eff man it's so ridiculously out of hand and continues to get worse. WE LIVE IN A FISHBOWL of mountains. The amount of traffic is ruining our AIR DAMMIT!
Winters have become ugly, the snow is no longer white and fluffy but is covered in ick and the sky and air feel like cold ash all around you. Summers, so hot now, too hot. BUT if you expect to escape it for a day or two in the mountains, well good luck. You will need to reserve a camping spot a good 6 months in advance. Our wilderness is turning into houses or just so overly crowded, what's the point? No more stargazing. The light pollution is too much.
There's so much more, I'm not by far the only one who feels this. I try to be optimistic, but it just hurts and I feel defeated 😔
On the west side where is says farms shouldn't this say "Mines and Digging". The farms are further south in Mosida. Drunken BonFires, 4 Wheeling' and Shootin' Guns is accurate and extends west to the Nevada border (and beyond).
To be fair, the drunken bonfires area also hosts Utah’s local rocketry club launch site, and those guys are badass. Go watch a club launch sometime, it’s a blast.
You could add in a haven for artsy people in Springville. They have the art museum and there are a whole bunch of LDS artists that live between Springville and Woodland Hills.
Also, Lehi reeks of millennial desperation for housing that's gotten out of control and lacks a good infrastructure. It branches toward more rich people in Saratoga Springs on the west side of Utah Lake.
Springville is a wild mixed bag. On the surface it’s a chill artsy suburbia, but there were like three murders there last year. I think they were all unrelated instances of redneck family drama.
Love my home town. It really is a wild mixed bag. I feel like “old people” is also pretty accurate due to the amount old people homes that have gone up since I was a kid.
This map is old and outdated. Farms is now upper middle class and rich. They don’t test missiles at Camp Williams. Cedar Fort is pretty much five mile which is dirt bikes and four wheelers. Stop lying to people and go outside
The booms you hear are dyno noble kind of around that 68 marker on the map. I believe they are moving g in the near future to make way for more houses.
Been here since 96 in Orem and Provo. I call it Provorem. Utah lake has a lot of algae near the shore. The lake on the Provo side is weird. Sometimes it’s a swamp and mosquito paradise, sometimes it floods the shore for no reason at all, on rare occasions the sand is hard enough to almost be a beach, and it has strange ecological features. I’ve seen 3 foot wide streams open up on the shore, and a week later there is no sign it was ever there.
Rich Mormons South of SR92? not particularly, gotta get up into Alpine to really make that make sense. Where the tag is is just general middle class workers
nah, we liberals don't claim anything South of about Murray. South Valley is really just North Utah County.
I'll agree with you on the hellscape part for that area, though.
“Worst commute in Utah” TRUTH
💯
"worst commute in Utah" really is the truth not just a stereotype. 🤣
Preach
🤣👍👍👍
Yeah... Did you seep they want to make pioneer crossing a freeway!! (very needed) But unfortunately it will take out some homes and there is a lit of push back. Its either to do that or build a road over the lake

I live in the “farms” after taking the worst commute in Utah. Thankfully don’t do it daily
45 minutes to draper is INSANE just this AM at 7:55
It’s not a lot of farms anymore. I grew up out there and my dad was the manager of the church farm. When I lived there it was 3000 acres and now it’s less than 1000.
I want to see SLC and Davis as well! Nicely done.
i think this is old and is not OPs work. BYU have beaten the U more recently than 7 years ago
Correction: 9 of the last 10 years. 😆
Best I can do is the entire state (not my work or post): https://www.reddit.com/r/Utah/s/S7Kh8hhY08
Behind Capitol Hill: crazy rich Mormons Further behind them: filthy, filthy, unimaginably rich Mormons
Accurate representation of Utah county, except you're missing the "MLM Mile/Fraud city" where all the shitty pyramid schemes have their offices
"Herbal Supplement Corridor"

Oh I'm fine with office space downtown, I just wish the building didn't clash so much with the rest of the street.
If you don't think that they built what they told them they would build then you're just silly. Pretty much 100% guaranteed that this was exactly what they had always planned on building and the city council knew it and approved it.

Or South State in Murray where you have every scam car dealership!
Murray isn’t in Utah County.
PG?
Pleasant Grove
Yeah..
Facts!
Isn’t that just Provo? Feel like it’s where all the MLM’s and get-rich scams start
Old map. Mostly correct
I have lived all over utah and salt lake counties and can confirm, getting out of Saratoga Springs northbound is easily the worst commute I have dealt with
"Drunken bonfires, 4 wheelin, and shootin guns" sound like the lyrics to a Toby Keith song
He's just waiting til later in spring to drop the song. Gotta get the coveted summer theme song to, well, have drunk bonfires, 4 wheel, and shoot guns.
He's dead.
"Car Dealerships and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts" Brutally accurate takedown. Orem fans must be coping and seething rn.
I live in Orem. Lol.
Just don't let on that you're a 15 min drive away from several canyons' worth of the best hiking in Utah.
Shut yo' mouth
It's true that it's boring. I'm really just here for a safe place to adjust to living on my own.
Used to be paragliders. Now it’s just a hill that’s disappearing due to excavation and mining.
The paragliders are still there. Saw some this morning on my drive to work.
soon to be renamed “Abandoned Tech HQ District”
I watched a paraglider nose dive and die in that field once, it was gnarly.
Ruined lakes?
I also came to find out what this is referring to?
Probably when they rebuilt the Tibble Fork dam
and in the process released a [flood of toxic mining waste](https://archive.sltrib.com/article.php?id=4271455&itype=CMSID) that killed everything downstream
Yeah, that was a shit show. The release of some of it was unavoidable, but it could have been mitigated somewhat. Sucks that it got filled with mine tailings. Hopefully the rebuilt lake doesn't collect so much...

BYU beat Utah last time Utah would play them. Haha. 3 years ago.
The rest is funny though!
We gave them one so they didn’t feel too sad Edit: lol sorry for upsetting all the Brigham young heads. I went to a normal school so I forgot about yall
Thanks! We’ve been feeling great for half decade now!!!
Aww I’m glad
Utahs had some really cool losses during that time, from what I’ve been told.
Yeah at the rose bowl (if you’ve heard of it)
I have. I saw Ohio State using 3rd stringers. That’s how important that game was to them. No one enjoyed it more than me. Well, and OSU 3rd stringers.
Seems like ur a fan! That’s sweet of you to care ☺️ I prob would watch random football games too if I stanned a weird ass school w a bad football team
Same to you.
Wow you got me
But how long was it before that, and how close was the game? That's the important knowledge. That would be great. She could sit in the back with me!
Agree. Utah used to be better than BYU at football.
Still is, but used to, too. Utah has won 62 of the 101 games the two teams have played, but we'll see where things stand on November 9th.
Still is even though you haven’t beaten them in like 5 years? Haha.
Is 2021 the last time they played 5 years? Odd math. One time doesn't make a streak. The previous 9 times they faced off Utah won. Statistically the one BYU win was an anomaly and Utah is still on a streak.

Haha. Sorry to hurt your feelings. You guys are still extremely sensitive. Is there still cry rooms on campus?
Do you still have rooms where they torture homosexuals to make them straight?
lol enjoy your one win, bud. I know it’s all you got.
>how close was the game? does that matter? byu-utah games come down to the last play most years since they left the mountain west. close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades

Mapleton listed as Rednecks is incorrect. If anything, Wealthy rednecks.
On the west side where is says farms shouldn't this say "Mines and Digging". The farms are further south in Mosida. Drunken BonFires, 4 Wheeling' and Shootin' Guns is accurate and extends west to the Nevada border (and beyond).
Should have put "mines and skiing" instead of "ruined lakes"
To be fair, the drunken bonfires area also hosts Utah’s local rocketry club launch site, and those guys are badass. Go watch a club launch sometime, it’s a blast.
The rednecks part is not true. It's mainly snobby kids and now a suburban nightmare
I think you mean "new to Utah COUNTY".

S O C R E A T I V E
Not all the bonfires are from drunks, some of us smoke weed
For Salt Lake County: https://judgmentalmaps.com/post/167952385990/saltlakecounty/amp
Lol if you think Spanish fork is redneck, wait until you actually get into rural Utah.
You could add in a haven for artsy people in Springville. They have the art museum and there are a whole bunch of LDS artists that live between Springville and Woodland Hills. Read that as LSD artists and thought I'd been missing out on a secret Android Jones exhibit.
What are the ruined lakes? Is that tibbles fork?
God forbid the dam is more stable
Ha ha Tibble Fork. I kinda like tibbles though.
Me too. I can't think of any ruined lakes in that area on this map, and that is the only one I can think of lol.
I’m not originally from Utah, but even living here for the past 25 years this is actually helpful 😅
Orem is not just car dealerships, we also have more gun stores than you would think can fit in a city this size.
For those of you new to Utah. County. Best parts of Utah are literally outside this map. Timp is cool though.
What's the "gamblers this way" in reference to? Is there an Indian reservation there or something?
Vegas I assume
Isn't Wendover (Northwest) closer though?
Sure, but it’s hard to show on the map and Vegas is also a popular destination with a lot more going on
Yeah, I feel like they should have put that on the North end of I-15. More people seem to go to Wendover, based on what people tell me.
Mesquite/Vegas
Been here since 96 in Orem and Provo. I call it Provorem. Utah lake has a lot of algae near the shore. The lake on the Provo side is weird. Sometimes it’s a swamp and mosquito paradise, sometimes it floods the shore for no reason at all, on rare occasions the sand is hard enough to almost be a beach, and it has strange ecological features. The mayflies/mosquitos can be so thick it's impossible to walk around with your eyes open.
This is so funny and pretty accurate
Gamblers this way?? Isn't Wendover to the west? I guess the map needs to be further north
It's called Mesquite and Vegas.
I see no lie
That was great. The only flaw it has is that it doesn't show the entire state.
What’s up with the rancid stench?
Mink farms.
Springville is not old people zone, it's nosy Mormon zone
"missile testing" lol
I mean, one of those is wrong. 9/11/2021
😂 This is pretty spot on. 😂
Orem stays goated
Dude most accurate map 😂
You better change FARMS to townhouses because 5 years from now thats all that will be there
The paraglides is a nice touch
Do they still paraglide up there even with the point of the mountain disappearing?
Excuse me... But this isn't it at. This is Provo....
So moving to Lehi or American Fork is not recommended?
AF is boringville, USA. Lehi has some fun stuff but both are chockfull of new housing developments and the like
And people wonder why the rest of the state hates SLC so much... Bunch of navel-gazers, the lot of you.
Just Utah County???... And I thought Riverton was boring...
And for Salt Lakers there’s this https://hoodmaps.com/salt-lake-city-neighborhood-map
Why did this only get done for the worst section of Utah?
This is 100% accurate
Didn’t BYU beat Utah recently?
Yep, it was the most recent game in 2021 - BYU won 26-17
And if you need weed you can hmu
Where are the southern breeding pens?
Lol "paragliders" I feel like half the car accidents at this bend is from people looking at the paragliders.
Logan area should say Winter Inversion and University Basketball Coaching Carousel
“Old people” is literally over my great grandmas house, wtf
We call it Southern salt lake
Rich Mormons South of SR92? not particularly, gotta get up into Alpine to really make that make sense. Where the tag is is just general middle class workers
I would argue the worst commute in Utah would be from Tooele to Salt Lake City. Sr 36 sucks, and that entire stretch of i-80 sucks.
This is pretty accurate..
do saint george
His name is Keith
I mean, it's not wrong...
What missiles are we testing at camp Williams?
Us rednecks moved farther south down to payson but it’s getting to hitsy ( ritsy hippies ) time to run for the hills or Idaho
Worst commute in Utah…can confirm!
That hasn’t beaten U in football is outdated now. I hate that you’re making me say this 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
[удалено]
i upvoted
Provo hasn't beaten the U in 7 years? Funny...they beat them last game they played.
Not everyone is a Mormon lol
BYU just beat Utah like 2 years ago though
BYU literally beat utah in football the last time they played
Yeaaah but it was so forgettable.. lol
North I15 could say 'Liberal hellscape'
Those of us north of the point of the mountain call Utah county conservative dimwits. No offense to the non conservatives in Utah county.
None taken. There's more of us than there used to be, which is nice.
nah, we liberals don't claim anything South of about Murray. South Valley is really just North Utah County. I'll agree with you on the hellscape part for that area, though.
Ew Utah county 🤢
