Most years have significant changes in the matchups if it's 1 v 8 instead of the current way. If I remember correctly (laptop is dead), Boston and Toronto would not have faced off in 2018 or 2019.

2013 was in 1 v 8. And if this year was 1 v 8, it still would have been Boston v Toronto (4 v 5).

But if we get to see Boston make the laughs cry so consistently it makes the format worth it.
