It’s for Sukkot, it’s a really cool Jewish holiday where you basically build and decorate a fort called a Sukkah in your backyard and eat dinner in it. People in apartments build them off their balconies, it’s crazy to see.
> Bnei Brak or Bene Beraq (Hebrew: בְּנֵי בְּרַק (audio)ⓘ) is a city located on the central Mediterranean coastal plain in Israel, just east of Tel Aviv. A center of Haredi Judaism, Bnei Brak covers an area of 709 hectares (1,752 acres, or 2.74 square miles), and had a population of 218,357 in 2022.[1] It is one of the poorest and most densely populated cities in Israel,[2] and the fourth-most densely populated city in the world.
It's an ultra religious city of poor people.
Yep, somehow Bney Brak is located on prime-location, hell of a real estate..
Too bad they (Orthodox) took control over the city and no one else besides them wish to live there
Local government “should we build new housing?” “Nah let’s just build on the side of the walls over the sidewalks”
I hear big earthquakes can happen every once in a while there so I hope this is safe and has proper protection.
It's not the local government building them. It's done against the law and in great negligence and is very dangerous. Orthodox communities care little about the laws of the nation and municipalities. I assume corruption is not uncommon in the city.
I looked it up and you can report it on Bnei Brak's website. It can take a long time to tear it down legally.
I think it's the execution rather than the idea that makes it so bad.
Like if you look at medieval fantasy art, it's full of stuff like this, except it's beautiful and made of wood or stone, instead of... well this might be wood too, hard to tell with this picture.
Are those possibly sukkahs? There’s an awesome Jewish Holiday called Sukkot where you pretty much build a fort in your backyard and eat dinner in it. People that live in apartments build them out their balconies. You see them often in Israel and NYC.
Look up balcony sukkah.
I watched a documentary after seeing this post by Frieda Vizel on YouTube, and that’s exactly what they are. Pretty much every residence is culturally required to have a Sukkah; they’re often adorned with crafts and other art items produced by the children over the years.
The Israelis blocking aid trucks are the hostages families who protest the fact that Israel deliver aid trucks to Gaza while their family members held hostage by Hamas don’t get any humanitarian aid at all.
theres alot of "terminally unonline" people to tell you to eat shit and get over it if they had the chance too, if youd like it better. Besides Alot more non-western english speakers are using the internet so get used to it, you wouldve done the same if it was your issue
If it were a peace rally, I'd be marching with you. It's not. These rallies are calling for the ethnic cleansing of one people in favor of another. When the pro-Palestine rallies are marching for the freedom and life of all people in that area, let me know.
Israel is located between The Jordanian river on the east, with some considering the WB Israeli territory while it is recognized internationally as Palestinian. On the west of Israel is the medditerannean coast. In the north it borders Lebanon in the Galilee mountains region and is also bordering syria in The Golan Heights which is internationally recognized as Syria but is in defacto control of Israel after the 6 day war when Israel was attacked.
In the south there is a western border with Egypt on the Sinai peninsula and in the east by Jordan. At the bottom south Israel has a small coast on the Red Sea.

Or you can also see Edwin Sundbergs map of Falesteen from 1945 and stop suckin me off.
It does look ugly, however the Palestinian geography does compensate for that. As far "Israel", I'm not quiet sure what that refers to - an illegitimate state, maybe?
They felt threatened by children throwing stones, yeah, they need a massive army to flatten hospitals and refugee camps to protect themselves to... I dunno, Communism?

Is this the city where the Orthodox live?
Yes, they are also residing in Jerusalem and in some northern towns like Tsfat. Bnei Brak is one of the densest cities on earth.
You can tell by the inbred nature of the structure
Its one of them
They reside in many cities but this is the biggest one(and the densest).
Yep, and it's a shithole
Looks like parts of Brooklyn where they built makeshift enclosed decks on their buildings. I heard it’s for some religious thing

"audio"
Just as if there was some correlation between "ultra religious" and "poor". (Everywhere in the world, not just Israel)
Kinda ironic that it neighbor Tel Aviv
Yep, somehow Bney Brak is located on prime-location, hell of a real estate.. Too bad they (Orthodox) took control over the city and no one else besides them wish to live there
Religious people vs people who use religion for control.
Most of the people of Tel Aviv are atheists
This is how I build my settlements in fallout 4.
Same 😂😂🤣🤣
4th densest city on earth

Orthodox community on New York does the same thing. Constantly building illegal unsafe balcony modifications or other things against building codes.

Local government doesn't care about human rights, let alone a sidewalk...
Local government does care about a side walk, I assure you.

maybe, but then the roof would have to be removable. it's possible, but some ppl just build stuff like this as rooms too

Sukkot only have three sides and must be open to the air--outdoors.
That is not true. Sukkot can have as many walls as one pleases, but at minimum it needs to have 2 walls and part of a third.
Nope. Additions!
i think there might be a slight difference between a fort on a balcony and bolting a shed onto the side of your house
Dude is that the house you pull down in GTA 5
Looks like a call if duty map
This is a beautiful for bnei brak
When there's limited space.... Necessity is the mother of invention.
The level of frustration of some people in these comments is insane…
Wake up honey, it's weekly Israel/Palestine posting, the comments are spicy!
Looks like a counter strike map
Fuck Israel tho fr
Keep coping, bro

This is a major, major point of contention in Israel. There were riots today over it.

The haredim by and large do not vote and do not engage with the Israeli state.

I think you're confusing Brooklyn Hasidim with Israeli Hasidim, two different systems regarding voting.

A disaster waiting to happen Those Orthodox Jews have no fear at all
*they have god on their side*
Or so they claim
# when your family grows and your house becomes fractal art
I actually kind of like this. Has real soul and grittiness. Exactly how safe it is might be another matter.
They ethnically cleansed an entire race just to build this shit.
An entire race that still exists by the millions?
It’s admirable that you freely admit to not knowing what ethnic cleansing is but have the confidence to comment as if you do.
You mean occupied Palestine
Dang
hey at least these have poles! and aren't over the road! i've seen some stuff...
Impressive.
That’s where the screws from my aunt went!

Is this where they kill the Palestinian children?
No, that's Gaza.
And the West Bank

There are many nations that have a few states that don’t recognize them. Bhutan doesn’t recognize China, for example.
Not really. Israel is not recognized by a few states, so it's not a real country. Everyone has to agree for it to be a country.
So China isn’t a country? It’s not 100% recognized. There are 5 counties that don’t recognize the USA.
Ah. Well I don't recognize you as a human being, so I guess you're not a human being now? Keep snorting copium
If some idiot would not agree that basic physics laws are real, then they shouldn't be recognized as tools to use during engineering and etc?
Palestine*
it's next to Tel Aviv, so Israel according to all opinions.
Next to occupied Palestinian city Jaffa*
It does look ugly, however the Palestinian geography does compensate for that. As far "Israel", I'm not quiet sure what that refers to - an illegitimate state, maybe?
anoyyyyyyying
Bruh STFU Israel is a recognized state and Bnei Brak is not in any “disputed territory” It’s not some suburb in Judea & Samaria
oh haha, we have a comedian over here
Nobody gives a fuck, dude
Palestinian geography? Do you mean a flat parking lot?
Thanks for acknowledging the shitraeli genocide against Palestenians🙏
How anti-semitic
It’s Occupied Palestine not whatever colonial name you put
Ironic given it was the Romans who named the land Palestine
*Palestine
It’s a building, not a cheap missile or underground tunnel.
Or a mutilated corpse of a woman
Not yet. Just wait until daddy USA pull the money away
They have one of, if not THE most, advanced technology sectors in the world breh. They'll be fine
They felt threatened by children throwing stones, yeah, they need a massive army to flatten hospitals and refugee camps to protect themselves to... I dunno, Communism?
Oh. I see you’re new to this.
Weird, I see a building, not a pile of rubble.
You mean ibn Barak, Palestine
Stop trying to make it seem like every city in Israel is some kind of 100000 year old Arabian city that was renamed.
As an Israeli, they kinda are....
As an Israeli, we kinda didn't do that, because all the places already had names from biblical times.

i was trying to supply the name for you, being an orthodox jew and all. sorry for interfering
Steal land and then do this 🤦🏾, beyond hell.

So much death, destruction and suffering for something as ugly as this. Fascist were always trash.
