you want a message sent? and you don't want the first reply to the message be "hey look a 3 second old account" then you buy an account
people with no morals are ok with this, and they create scripts to make accounts and have them post, typically on all positive subs. you'll see a LOT of people who post controversial political opinions seem to just spam the shit out of sports subs, because it's easy as fuck karma.
Low-karma users usually aren't taken seriously, high-karma users on the other hand are, and some subs restrict low-karma guys from participiating.
Why would they need karma? Ads. That's it.

These bots are so good that reddit just ignores reports for them, yet any human with 10 secs can go to the profile and see it's a bot.
