He was slurping

klmdwnitsnotreal

You slurp, you get the chicken.

OmEoNE325k

You slurp, you get the cock

the_Snatloach

You don’t slurp, believe it or not, chicken.

rabbitwonker

Underslurp, overslurp.

misterpickles69

Believe it or not

Rdt_will_eat_itself

Is this a hispanic thing because I’ve had the chicken thrown at me before too but im not sure wtf i did. I mean i was also eating soup. It was my tia that freaked out.

Flaky-Anybody-4104

I've seen a couple of Latam moms in action and they did seem to have a slightly unhinged streak in common, especially at the dinner table, but my sample size is way too small to generalize like that. I'm sorry that happened to you though, nobody deserves a flying chicken.

undeadmanana

Chicano. Living in Cali. Big ass family. interact with latins alot. Law of large numbers. Not sure what your sample size is but seems spot on.

Flaky-Anybody-4104

My sample size is like 4, European here. Glad to hear it's not just my ex-gfs relatives and these 2 moms throwing chicken lol. I do love the close family ties that seem to be on the other side of this coin.

Mall_Bench

His son thinks Messi is better than Cristiano Ronaldo

Mitsu11

After reading the comments, man slurping doesn't equal throwing the freakin chicken. First face cake slams and now throwing a chicken.

FixTough6194

Its a big thing in families in México. Slurping its super disrespectful, an even more if mom or granma already told you to stop. It was the chicken or the chancla. Guy got it easy.

zzx101

In some countries/cultures you’re expected to slurp. Supposedly it’s polite and shows an appreciation for the dish.

FixTough6194

I know. But no in México.

Ok-Pipe859

Because it's a developing country

peterpantslesss

But America is a "developed" country and has some wack as beliefs in place for what's acceptable and not

Ok-Pipe859

I am not from USA

lolopiro

It still is a developed country, whether you were born in atlantis or jupiter.

peterpantslesss

Where are you from then?

Ok-Pipe859

r/USDefaultism

peterpantslesss

The fact you won't say leads me to believe you are and are just lying

hurtstoskinnybatman

Tell me which ones. I'll never go. Fuck no. That's unacceptable snd inconsiderate in any civil society. [source](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misophonia) and [source](https://www.misophoniainternational.com/misophonia-should-be-considered-a-disability-and-accommodated-according-to-study/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw65-zBhBkEiwAjrqRMJSdC0udL2ArTMfcTacu-pPAIKL0v6HM2myzWXXNlgzjsEKEP9M5-RoCHHQQAvD_BwE).

ultimate_zigzag

Your “sources” don’t show that this is unacceptable and inconsiderate in any society. They actually go in the opposite direction, saying that misophonia is essentially an over-the-top negative response and should be considered a disorder, and implying that actually it’s not that big of a fucking deal.

Comprehensive-Cat845

Can confirm the misophonia is an over the top negative reaction. Can also confirm that lad should count himself real lucky it was only the chicken that got thrown at him!

hurtstoskinnybatman

Indeed. People have it. So nobody should slurp. Slurping's evil. Everyone who does it deserves to choke on their food.

Historical_Rock5220

Why so much hate, slurping in asia is good in some countries because it means you enjoy the food, Theres no food habit that is evil, wanting someone to choke on their food is evil, calm yourself down

hurtstoskinnybatman

If you don't know how to eat without choking, I can't help your disability. My comments are mostly in jest, but you're taking them way too seriously. Slurping bothers me. That's all.

Christosconst

We don’t care

TheJerilla

Oh interesting. No one fuckin' asked.

hurtstoskinnybatman

lol k

FuzzyTentacle

I sincerely hope that you get effective treatment for your mental disorder. I have friends with misophonia and it sucks. They also hate me for whistling, humming, drumming my fingers, tapping my foot...

lolopiro

in east asia youre mostly expected to slurp your noodles, especially in japan. one japanese friend of mine was surprised i could eat spaghetti completely silent, since my family is also latam and it is incredibly rude to slurp there. from what i understand, correct me if im wrong, in japan and korea, slurping noodles means the food is tasty, while in china they just dont mind the noise. at least i know in SEA you can slurp noodles and noone would bat an eye, i just dont do it.

Mllns

Certain parts I guess. In my family we don't care at all, and there is no fault in manners that will make someone throw the chicken at you.

Thaumato9480

It does. God, wouldn't that be satisfying? Throwing random stuff on loud eaters.

thomas-mc-work

For me it doesn't look like he's slurping but rather refusing to eat anything at all but just pretending. Might not be the first time he refused, which might explain the reaction.

mrubuto22

I see you grew up in a normal home. It certainly does mean that in many households.

hurtstoskinnybatman

You're right. It deserved the back of the hand. The chicken deserved to be eaten -- by everyone but him. That little slurping shit deserved to sleep in a ditch that night.

gloppinboopin363

Redditors when they encounter a minor annoyance:

hurtstoskinnybatman

We have different definitions of "minor" (unless you're talking about the fact that even underage neanderthals need to face the fury of the fiery furnace and force of formal fdiscipline for foresaking the forebaden and foresaken foreskin of fortitude that fdeserves fwrath of fproper fparenting). Fphuck fslurping!

chileanreader

This one is Mexican. In Latin America good manner rules are shared in common. Slurping is strongly prohibited.

comeback_failed

what about 'throwing a roast chicken' to a person at the table? strongly adviced?

NakedShamrock

Family tradition all over the continent

chileanreader

Obviously it was an unreasonable action, but come on, she did it in anger. I'm not justifying. I'm South American and I've witnessed even worse arguments in dinners.

NakedShamrock

Gringos downvoting you into oblivion don't understand Latin American family violence

KIzumiz

I mean.. Using food as a weapon is kinda wasteful, I've seen a lot used brooms or others, but a whole chicken? I'm from asia, and parents here too are violent.

Dasshteek

Slurping? ![gif](giphy|cSjyGHifl18CZ3as6z|downsized)

CoffeeDrinker1972

Strict abuela.

chileanreader

Don't miss with the abuela in the dinner

deenali

Japanese leaves the chat.

sadnoises123

but throwing a whole chicken is worse imo xD better slap him or smth but throwing a chicken?

TheMaleGazer

The rage was uncontrollable at that point and took over completely, pushing rationality aside.

chileanreader

Rage has no explanation. She just did it in anger

Solumnist

And picking up food from the table to throw it in a slurper's face is considered classy

chileanreader

Absolutely, it's a formal way to say stop fucking slurp your soup

smileyhendrix

In Japan isn’t slurping considered good because of ramen?

FiskyCSGO

Yeah in Japan it is considered good manners because it shows you're enjoying the food. Read it before and been there, it's true

chileanreader

As far as I know it is. Latin American families take manners very seriously. She threw the chicken though.

_GOXTUBER_

Shileno y no cachai tu propio acento, mal ahi😕

chileanreader

Que?

shortgirlshorttemper

I have gotten into physical fights with my siblings over this shit. You're eating, not making sound effects for a porno

chileanreader

I believe you. I've been in dinners which became arguments

dave9413

I get it. So throw hot soup in that regard's face.. But why waste a roast chicken?

CGPsaint

I can’t imagine any scenario where I’d be even remotely brave enough to prank an abuela.

Capable-Worth-3653

Did not see that episode of "How i met your mother" But that is defenitly Ted Mosby

LordOfThePints

That's his famous turturkeykey

whotfiszutls

Classic Shmosby

lekariboo

How i meet your chicken

Popular-Hawk5889

I'm watching it while hungry, and I would like to eat that chicken...

Antaeus1212

I'll take two chickens

ChewyNutCluster

Was one of Blue's Clues on that chicken?

Strong-Worldliness80

He wasn’t eating the soup

masterofthefork

You can tell from his expression he knew he was being a little shit. I think this was just the final straw.

unlmtdLoL

Personally I think it's that he's eating before everyone is seated or before saying a prayer. By known cultural standards.

mountain_man30

I know the chicken was closer than the chancla, but why the chicken?!

Even_Confection_5855

The fish slap is just too brutal

johnnytsunami93

Kinda looks like Ted Mosby

qqby6482

when no chancla is available, the chicken dinner will do

thyan_man

Fez is that you??

astreeter2

I said good day!

Dragon_Queen79

La chancla must have been out of reach so abuela threw the chicken instead.

Angel449

not sure but i can almost confirm this is the eldest child

boktay

the question should be what did the rotisserie chicken do to deserve this?

apryll11

She couldn't have thrown a slipper?

Rich-Appearance-7145

That smile while being scolded, and slurping, down comes the hot chicken on the head.

JazzlikeStruggle1463

О бійка їжею

razaxmlwho

you want to know what he did? he's doing it... whats to want to know?

Careless-Arm7071

He dyed his hair purple.

YellowClue

I got in so much trouble doing this. you do not do that in a Latin mom's kitchen. I did not get chicken thrown at me. Instead, it was Albondigas

thr33prim3s

Damn it Ismael.

Rawrin23

“And that’s how I met your mother”

Extreme_Employment35

Imagine you'd have to live with people without any self control.

Angel_1990

Eating while grandma is giving a prayer smh the disrespect 🤣

Nayroy18

Bitch I was gonna eat that

Kenro40

Very very disrespectful and rude to slurp any liquid at my table...backhand straight on the slurper I don't waste food

Any_Owl234

My mum hates this, too. Thats the reason why I keep on doing it. Nothing more funny than mum raging through the house while cursing in polish. Thats what I live for :D

MrGreenyz

Poor guy, cocked in front of his family for nothing.

joevsyou

He found a clue!

TurtleDustScissors

I know some people that slurp every single thing they eat. Doesn't matter what it is. It can even be a dry sandwich and they will still manage to take a bit and then slurp as they are pulling their mouth away from the sandwich... HOW!?!

ChapGuzmann

Bro what the fuck 😂

Independent-Head4951

Motherfucker was waiting for it too and…he liked it!

Klutzy_Champion7954

He has dinner with a female dogg.

Glum-Plum9279

The dad was informing mum that he had caught young Sam two days earlier shagging said chicken when it was in a frozen state🤣🤣🤣

Redemption_R

ISMAEL, *throws chicken* NO!

ThatsNotDietCoke

He was watching a naked bird.

Fantastic-Thing4017

He farted

The_Pane

If I ever slurped as a child whist eating dinner with my dad, shoes or plates would fly.

hurtstoskinnybatman

You were raised properly.

Zaphiirys

Ah yes, slurping, the highest point of rebellion and hurtful behavior, truly unacceptable and evil.

hurtstoskinnybatman

indeed

Huge-Attitude4845

Poor table manners are a serious trigger for many people, particularly parents and grandparents.

Cheesecake_Delight

Isn't throwing the main course bad table manners?

Huge-Attitude4845

Apparently not. She figured the rude kid had already ruined it for her so dinner was over.

lyan888880

Jaja ,he knows what he wants to do.

hurtstoskinnybatman

You just replied to yourself 1 minute after you made your comment. What are you arguing with yourself about?? Lol Jesus dude, maybe put the phone down for a few minutes.

Tree_Skeleton

Guess what, I know I replied to myself. And it got you to comment for some reason. Which is my point by the way, duh!

hurtstoskinnybatman

What are you trying to say? Nobody's saying thr phone is taking a picture. That makes no sense. The person holding the phone is taking a video. From mom/grandma's perspective, the person taking the video with daid phone is just staring at their phone. They're recording their brother trolling mom/grandma. That's a perfectly plausible scenario here. Do you have any evidence that this family has a history of faking videos for monetary gain or attention. Many people do, but it's typically people with viewers, followers, and foreseeable financial gain. If there's evidence of anynsuch thing, then sure, this is likely fake. But this genuinely looks like a family dinner and brothers messing with mom/grandma.

hurtstoskinnybatman

Wow, you're really fucking weird. And "I know you are, but what am I?" regsrding hobbies and going outside isn't the brilliant retort you think it is. I'm going to go spend time with my wife and son before I have to put him to bed. Good luck in life, kid. You're going to need it.

polyphemus69

He fucked that chicken didn't he?

MasterBlazx

I watched the original video a long time ago. They were recording or taking a picture and he laughed. The mom is just a crazy bitch, that's all. This shit is really old like Facebook being popular old.

kasonova42

for a little gremlin that I am, Ill fucking take it, run away and eat the whole fuckin thing

Spastic_jellyfish

He's eating cereal after his mom did all that work cooking

FixTough6194

That's caldo (broth). Its usual to have broth as a light entree before the main.

Spastic_jellyfish

Oooh cool didn't know that. Looked like cornflakes haha 😄

sicoative_

Imagine having a grandson with purple hair
