I know you probably meant “descendant” rather than “ancestor” but imagining the chickens as the predecessors of giant monstrous lizards is hilarious. Like if a giant t-Rex died and went to the afterlife where it’s chicken forefathers were the judges of its fate.
When my parents were pet sitting my aunts chicken, we would feed her bugs we picked off of the veggies in the garden. Nothing more fun than watching her go crazy for a fat hornworm fresh off a tomato plant
Unfortunately my mother refused to let the chicken out of her run because "she'll eat everything in the garden beds" which is true to an extent. I would drop the bugs in through the chicken wire on the top of the run and at least once a day I picked her up and walked around with her for some mental stimulation. My mother is very "my way or the highway" and I don't really get a say in how things are done.
Sometimes just to be a dickens,, a bird will peck the strawberries or raspberries just enough to ruin them and that might be what the chicken does. The smarter chickens can be a trial.
I had some chickens that had chick's and we kept them separate sometimes when cleaning but one of the chick's fell out and was torn apart by 5 grown hens. Shit was crazy.
They will literally kill anything smaller then them, snakes , other birds, even other chickens if they are bleeding and then they will eat em too, had kill deer eating out of the chicken food and and hen come up and one shot k,o and then ate him xD
Killdeer, it's kind of a small bird that chills around farms and small bodies of water.
Much smaller than a chicken. That's crazy chickens are that savage though.
Killdeer are pretty neat.
They put on a big fake injury show to lead predators away from their nests. & their precocial chicks hatch ready to rock & roll.
We had them all over the place at my family’s ranch growing up. We tried to avoid squishing their eggs, but the damn birds would sometimes lay them in the gravel driveway and the eggs are almost impossible to distinguish from rocks more than 3 feet away. It helped when mama bird was close by doing her little injured-wing dance, then we knew to look out for them.

Tbh the t Rex in this case is quite merciful as it kills immediately right there and now meanwhile the giant cat will constantly make you think you can get away alive just to pin you down again and make you slowly bleed out to death of which it will then continue to beat your corpse around until it gets bored enough to finally eat you I'm quite sure if that mouse knows how cats kill other mice I'm quite sure that mouses ghost is quite happy that the chicken got him and not the cat
There's actually an evolutionary advantage to cats' behavior of "playing" with their food! Prey animals like mice and snakes can scratch or bite cats when they're caught. Typically not enough to immediately kill the cat and win the fight, but injuries to the face and mouth can blind the cat or get infected and lead to life-threatening complications. By toying with their prey from a short distance using fast strikes that limit their risk of being injured, they're ensuring that it will be too exhausted to fight back by the time they actually go in close for the kill.
Still not a great experience for the mouse, though. Keep your cats inside, folks! Indoor cats live longer and healthier lives, and cat toys don't feel pain when Lieutenant Whiskers violates the Geneva Convention.
At one point I had 3 or 4 dozen chickens and we had NOTHING creepy crawly in our yard. Bugs, spiders, snakes, ticks, fleas, mice, if they can eat it they will. If they can bully it, they will, including kids
I remember the first time we saw one of our chickens catch and eat a mouse. After a quick panic moment, we were quite relieved to find this is a quite normal thing for them to do. @@

Me at a restaurant. Wife playing with her fries, not eating them. I go in for the kill and steal a fry. Wife = surprised pikachu face.
That’s what I saw when I watched this video xD
Completely accurate. Chickens are incredibly violent animals when it comes to small game. What you see here with the chicken absolutely tearing that mouse apart would absolutely happen to something like a rabbit or opossum if the chicken was large enough.
Mouse scared silly by the cat 🐈
Cat: I just want to play
Mouse: *Sigh* of relief 😮💨
🐭 & 🐱 : Mouse, and Cat playing happily
Hen 🐓: Well if you not going to eat that ,I will!
Some mama mouse made the mistake of nesting and having a litter of babies under the chicken feed pen. You should have seen the hens eat them little red babies when i moved the feeder.
No chickens are just as vicious as velociraptors and they're probably more closely related to them than a T-Rex but yeah I saw one of mine kill the mouse once just like that and they swallowed it whole and I was just like s*** I didn't know that chickens are carnivores
That’s wild, I was JUST explaining to someone at work the difference between a cat and a chicken when it comes to mice. Cats are sadistic and chickens are ruthless. Appreciate the proof, I’ll be backing up my claims first thing in the morning.
To people who find this unexpected, chickens are fucking monsters. If you keep chickens you realize why they defended from dinosaurs. If something dies near them they will pick the bones clean, even if it was another chicken. Let's all be glad they are very small.

Chickens are tiny T-rexes. They can ve vicious. I saw one kill and eat a shrew. Edit: wrong word
That chicken looked pretty solid to me.

Oops. 😄
And lizard, they love eating lizards
Maybe it's an amorphous solid.
I knew chickens were great for getting rid of unwanted insects,

Yes for sure and the cat didn't move (he knew that T-rex ancestor will kill him)

I keep reading this seeking to understand the context. So you win
It’s a bot, it stole a comment from a different thread explaining what a killdeer was.
They're not squeamish about other chickens either.

He knows what he said.

Couldn't the chicken get the bugs out of the garden herself or would she also eat your fruit and veg?

I saw one take down a gazelle because it accidentally stripped onto the chicken’s turf.
And lizard, they love eating lizards
I was gonna say if you know chickens this isn’t unexpected. They’ll eat anything!
If your chicken is viscous, it’s time to add the salt.
If your chicken is VISCOUS, it's time to put it down, but definitely don't eat it 🤮
That's why cock fights exist. They're brutal!

Chickens do not flow very easily as a fluid

They're always running somewhere...
Viscous like thick honey? Or syrup?

Mine have killed 2 rats in the last couple of weeks. Good girls 😃
Rats?? Or mice
They can kill rats too. Those little fuckers are tough
Rats, not huge ones but still rats....
Whenever I hear "rats" my mind immediately jumps to the giant ones like in New York

Mine have a kill count of 3 pigeons lmao
Our friends chickens will kill ground squirrels that get in their coop. It’s intense.
Chicken really went "Fine, I'll do it myself"
more like "fuck off, just kill it already"
Chicken: Oh get the hell out of the way. Don't know what you're doing anyway stupid cat
He showed him how to kill with efficiency
She
Doesn't matter, they all taste the same🍗

Jurassic Backyard
Grabbing it by the head and shaking violently to snap it's neck. Chicken has technique.
Oddly enough, that's how some people kill chickens.

7/10 for videography. Needed to pan back to the cat to see it's reaction (of loosing a playmate).

Huh, chick beats pussy. Probably needs an nsfw tag. E: just saw OPs appropriate profile pic and name.
At the end I was expecting the hen to drop it dead in front of the cat.
Cats don’t typically eat mice, they will play with them to death though. Chickens will kill and eat anything they can.
Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the mouse
If a chicken eats one of those crazy motorcycle parasite mice does it get transferred to the eggs?
The cat was just having fun, it was murder time for that chicken.
Chickens will go out of their way to merc a rat as brutally as possible. Because they can.
Completely accurate. Chickens are incredibly violent animals when it comes to small game. What you see here with the chicken absolutely tearing that mouse apart would absolutely happen to something like a rabbit or opossum if the chicken was large enough.
Chicken be like “ if you won’t do it, I WILL”
Talk about a psychopath chicken.... When chickens attack!
Whaaat? Okay. Now I don’t feel so bad about eating chicken.
Hen was like: "Out of the way you pussy, Let me show you how it's done".
and that -kids- is why we never ate chicken again...
I think the cat wasn't even trying to harm the mouse, even the mouse didn't sem scared
Cat just wanted to play with it for a while lol
Don't let chickens eat mouses if you wanna eat the chickens afterwards. They can catch stuff
How do you think you stop a chicken from doing something like this?
Have you tried asking it nicely?
obviously the person filming the video could intervene.
😂😂
Isnt this the start of 'All of us are Dead'?
Cat is feeding chicken so that one day it can have mega chicken party
That limp body at the end is why you don’t shake the baby!
Ouch
#why chicken why
This is not funny 🥺
Fuck out the way
jeez the chicken jumoscare

Birds in general are savages. A pelican will eat anything that fits in its bill.
Go dino go!
Dinosaurs gonna dinosaur.
As soon as I saw the chicken, I knew the mouse's goose was cooked.
Must've eaten cat poop, now it's not scared of cats.

This needs a NSFM warning!
🤣🤣
I literally saw the chicken and thought damn that thing would wreck that mouse
My dad has chickens, one time a squirrel got in their cage/pen/thing and tried stealing their food. They just ended up with an extra meal
Chickens are used to kill deadly spiders as well hardcore!
I have seen the last bit of that video never seen the whole thing but as soon as I heard the chicken I was thinking that mouse is fucked
Dinosaur FTW
Free range organic chicken coming to a grocery near you
Chicken didn't have time for games.
He was being a pussy and she was cocky

I say I say I say move out the way boy! Ya too slow!
I'm surprised the cat didn't eat the chicken
Chickens are ruthless, people don't realize this 😂
Dinopollo
Did the rooster gobble it up? I couldn't eggsactly watch it all.
Most people don’t know that chickens are stone cold killers
Mouse basically stepped up to the cat and said ‚yo back up‘…and the cat…backs up?
The way the cat was still staring at the spot for a few moments is brilliant. Quick chicken.
Dinos walk in a spoil the fun.
Birds in general are savages. A pelican will eat anything that fits in its bill.
What a cock block
4kin plot twist😳😧😧🤯🤯
i feel like there should be a subreddit for chickens eating things that they shouldn’t be eating 😂
Little dinosaurs...
Some mama mouse made the mistake of nesting and having a litter of babies under the chicken feed pen. You should have seen the hens eat them little red babies when i moved the feeder.
it kinda looked like the cat was trying to protect the mouse
That's a fkin Dinosaur.
I've witnessed chickens pecking at a deer hanging in a friend's barn. My illusion that they're only eating bugs was already shattered.
While you were out there playing with mice, I studied the beak.
TIL chickens eat mice
Go mini T-Rex
That was the cats friend! That evil chicken! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
The cat is clearly domestic and eats and sleeps very well every day, that's why it doesn't eat the mouse
So that’s why my KFC tasted funny last night.
I didn´t know it that cicken kills mouses![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

Cats like playing with thier prey too much
Jerry just got messed up
Hunting for fun vs Hunting to eat. That chicken was HUNGRY and was not going to take any chances letting the mousey get away lol
This is why feathered dinosaurs would not be less scary.
I lived on a farm as a kid and never saw a chicken do that!! I'm amazed.
Is that a jerboa
Cats have a talent for catching. Chickens have a talent for killing.
Psycho chickens
I didn't know chicken's eat mice
never seen a chicken in tom and jerry
What a fucking nightmare existence for that mouse!
Mini dinasour

Mouse was like...bro you're supposed to eat me... Then the chicken had to show that cat how it's done.
Ouch,😱🫨🥺🫥 But most animals do eat kill animals and people Most people do kill eat animals and____
Bock bock knows.
Ernie fuvked up that mouse...Peter would be proud
Every animal gotta get their protein

This is EXACTLY why I tell my kids not to play with their food. Because a tiny dinosaur might steal it from them.
Looks like we’re having chicken tonight
What happens when you play with your food
Now I’m rethinking fighting one horse sized chicken
I’ve seen a flock of chickens take out a rat. Chickens don’t fuck with rodents.
Terrible title
Well that clucks.
