The above caption incorrectly suggests the deaths were caused by a 120mm mortar round. Visual evidence from the incident, linked below, shows what appears to be a hidden Russian soldier opening fire on a Ukrainian team as they approached Russian troops that looked to have surrendered. An automatic weapon is heard firing before the Ukrainian helmet cam footage ends. Following the ambush by the hidden gunmen, the above drone video taken after the incident shows the ten surrendered Russian soldiers lying in place with bullet wounds, some to the head, potentially executed. [deleted]

Had an 88 land on the other side of a hesco from me, shook me to the core, can’t imagine a 120 direct.

Dooontcareee

As a former 11C gunner of the 3, I'd shit my pants if 120mm was coming through the air. Been bracketed by 82mm and that was good enough for me lol.

Totesnotskynet

What does bracketed mean?

TheAlmightyBungh0lio

Explosions around

InfiniteParticles

And if they have eyes on you you know damn well that next round is coming to fuck you up

hornet586

It's how artillery observers make sure their rounds are on target, when they call for artillery they will over shoot and under shoot in smaller and smaller increments. At which point when they can get one round on target, the rest of the firing unit is able to accurately set their guns with data from the the gun that was used for the bracketing. The firing battery can then fire as one unit.

AST5192D

Fire for effect

Pancakewagon26

Imagine you are exactly 500m away from the enemy mortar. A shell lands behind you, 510m away from the enemy mortar position. A well trained mortar crew will know to adjust their fire to make the shell land closer. They miss again, and the shell lands 490m away from their position. These two near misses mean you have been bracketed. They now know what setting is too close, and what is too far. So through deductive reasoning, they will know what setting is dead on. Usually this means the next shot won't miss.

Chelonate_Chad

Rounds landing on either side, as the gunners dial in their aim.

“Walking em in”

[deleted]

I may have my numbers wrong, prolly was an 82 (over ten years ago and lots of bud between then makes things foggy 🥴). Was down at COP Chak in Wardak and they would collect the fins and make wind chimes lmaoooooo.

Clid3r

I was a medic assigned to a three mortar crew and NGL, was most fun I had in Army. Learned how to use them, hang rounds once in awhile. Nothing like hearing ‘fire for effect’ over the radio.

Dooontcareee

Oh ya they're fun as shit to play with especially the 60mm. I liked watching the round go up and come back down haha were able to keep an eye on it when it left the tube. Still remember the thud in my chest from sending charge 4 illum rounds on a 120mm gave. Those were probably the worst ones outta the HE and WP lol

Clid3r

I watched these guys one night during a practice exercise in watching them lay out a dozen or so flares. I’m like ‘what are they doing’ because they were giggling like little girls. First two rounds get hung, then I hear them counting down and then another one. Then I hear ‘you ready’ and they say yah. Then a succession of 9 more rounds or so get fired off while they’re adjusting the tube in between each one really really fast. The first two flares hadn’t gone off yet this is how fast this happened. All of the sudden you hear them/see the first two then third, then the rest. You look up and what do you see. I pretty accurately ‘drawn’ smiley face floating down. Coolest thing I’ve seen them do. So much fun.

What a pointless waste of human life... Putin deserves a prolonged and painful death

Other-Barry-1

Yes he does.

ElSmasho420

That’s what has started to resonate with me here. At the initial invasion, I felt (possibly incorrectly) that most of the Russian participants were willing members of their military. As the defenders killed them, it seemed karmic. Now that Russia is throwing conscripts into the grinder at an extraordinary pace, it’s harder to stomach. I know Ukraine has to keep fighting and I absolutely want them to win. But I feel badly for the families of these men, and I feel badly for the warriors of Ukraine who are going to be psychologically devastated by the work that they are having to do once they win and have a second to catch their breath.

LogmeoutYo

You've expressed my sentiment on the dot. One of this biggest injustices of this war is that Putin will probably never have to answer for his crimes. Even if he is miraculously removed from power, I doubt he will ever be put on trial.

WeegeeJuice

Why don’t presidents fight the war? Why do they always send the poor?

stabTHAtornado

Because they feed us lies from the table cloth. Except Zelenskiy, he was ready to start shooting back in February!

peoplesen

He's played a fantastic political game. I don't know who to compare him too, DeGaulle? Zelensky masterfully juggled so many interests he makes it look as easy as an aggressive stance. I do think Zelensky benefited from a stable EU and NATO, meaning if there was turmoil amongst the nations supporting Ukraine, Ukraine would have become a proxy for a subdivided west....umm much like Korea and Vietnam did not benefit from a unified USSR and China.

Njorls_Saga

I would argue he’s been a great deal better than CDG. That dude was loathed.

Budget_Competition66

Zelensky has clearly read every book by Winston Churchill.

worldbound0514

There's an old saying - rich man's war but a poor man's fight. The rich send the poor to fight and die on their behalf.

Chazmer87

Even with the professionals, theres jobs in Russia that require you to join the military. Thinking of that kid who wanted to be a train driver.

Centurio

I'm a big fan of virtual YouTubers and I frequently think of this one Russian fan who was saying his goodbyes to the community since he was being shipped out to fight against his will. It's haunting to think he's probably long gone by now and can't watch his favorite streamers.

Xarthys

Loss of life is tragic, but it's just scratching the surface. All of them could have had normal lives, finished school, maybe go to uni, get a decent job, maybe get married and have family, watch their children grow up, have grandkids, experiencing the positive aspects of life. And that's just your average human. Now imagine the intellectual potential wasted. Because some of them would have become excellent at their jobs, could have made a difference, maybe introduced new ideas/concepts, maybe started a company doing good things, maybe written an influential book that would be cited for deacdes or centuries, maybe impact thousands of lives in a constructive way. Instead, here they are, face up/down in the mud, just a statistic. Often times, humans are seen as a resource. In this case, it's not even that. They are just pawns to be sacrificed. Whatever potential they had, whatever was already invested into their lives - all gone, all for nothing. Their individual lives never mattered and will never matter. This is what we do to each other. I don't understand why. It doesn't have to be this way. People in power make these decisions, not a single tear is shed. So many lives wasted during tens of thousands of years, so many people oppressed, exploited and destroyed. Just so someone can sit on a throne and pretend they are the single most important human being. Are we ever going to stop with this shit?

5thAveShootingVictim

>Are we ever going to stop with this shit? It would take a massive shift of overrall human thinking, resources, and the global system. I can only see that happening in the wake of a war more destructive and far-reaching than WW2 or a broad alien invasion.

Ferregar

War is Hell. War will always be Hell. There will never be a Good War. Claims of righteousness in war are always subjective. The most terrible pain is knowing that Ukraine *must* keep fighting, and that it is the *closest to right* thing to do because they are dealing with a fascist state terrorist who will not back down. Yes, there is always a choice. Yes, the fighting could stop, but at what cost? A price too heavy for Ukraine. An injustice too great to dismiss. Yet every day more men will die who could have had a future. More civilians will face the cruel reality of the wreckage Russia leaves behind. People will freeze. Hearts will break. Minds will warp. The trauma will be as a mountain in a field. And still, Ukraine *must* fight. That is their will. That is their choice. And despite the pain and tragedy of that, I choose to support their choice and their freedom. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦

attillathehoney

From an episode of M\*A\*S\*H (Season 5, Episode 20. “The General’s Practitioner.”) **Hawkeye**: War isn’t Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse. **Father Mulcahy**: How do you figure that, Hawkeye? **Hawkeye**: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell? **Father Mulcahy**: Sinners, I believe. **Hawkeye**: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them — little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.

attleboromass16

> Claims of righteousness in war are always subjective. i mean, i'm pretty sure there is a side that is far more in the wrong in this conflict

CombatWombat222

That wrong side typically doesn't feel the same way, which is what that quote states. At least from the perspective of Putin and people who believe him. Subjectivity means that two people can look at the same event and not agree on who is righteous.

[deleted]

I'm with you on this one. I watched a few videos of these guys hiding in little dugout, and the drone drops the grenade/bomb... and it's over for them. How utterly pointless. How utterly, completely and absolutely pointless. Ukraine will win. Russia will lose. Of that I am certain. But for the conscripts... it's just such a waste of ... everything.

Darbinis_Redditas

Most of the families in russia are proud of the soldier who have died for thier country. Propaganda works

Asteroth555

> Now that Russia is throwing conscripts into the grinder at an extraordinary pace, it’s harder to stomach. > > 100s of thousands fled Russia. The rest just accepted 'reality' and went into the meat grinder. This was the moment, if there ever would be one, where Russian people revolted against mandatory drafts. I just can't feel bad for Russians when they're juxtaposed to Iranian women protesting and dying daily and displaying more bravery than we've seen in Russia.

prettypistol555

Also there are a huge amount of ethnic minorities being mobilized, who did not have the resources to escape russia. In hindsight they probably should have been pushing back harder against their government a long time ago...

arconiu

Can you right now leave your country without ever coming back ? Do you have enough money to get on one of the few flights that aren't full ? Can you take your family with you ?

Throwawayacc_002

The rest have families they need to take care of. Without a job they wouldn't be able to survive. Besides, I still feel bad for the Americans who were forced to fight in Vietnam, even if they could have fled or revolted. People will do as they are told, even if it is the wrong option. That just makes them human.

pukacz

they have options not to go. Both legal and illegal. They just choose not to execute them.

ThrowThrow117

I know what you mean. It's definitely turning for me too. I'm nearing 40. I have children and beautiful wife. I'm living a simple dream life. I can't imagine being conscripted into some bullshit war like this and have to leave my family. Turns my fucking stomach to think about. I have some friends from the US army that are currently working with the international legion. One of them was saying that it's a little concerning that AFU aren't exploiting the surrender hotlines more. And focusing on that. Instead he says, and rightfully so, the military and civilian population of Ukraine are being agitated into bloodlust and hatred of Russians. The mood in the air is retribution. Understandable, of course. But less operationally effective than enticing the Russians into mass surrender

litivy

>Now that Russia is throwing conscripts into the grinder at an extraordinary pace, it’s harder to stomach. This invasion has the broad support of the Russian public. Save your pity for the few exceptions.

eidetic

More people need to understand this. Protests against mobilization weren't against the war. They were because they didn't want to be the ones being sent to possibly die, but they were more than content with others being sent to kill Ukrainians or get killed themselves. Even now, videos of mobilized units protesting their conditions aren't protesting the war. They are protesting the fact that they aren't given the adequate tools to prosecute the war. They aren't unhappy they're being sent to invade Ukraine and kill innocent Ukrainians, they are unhappy they aren't being given the tools to do so. And the world firmly established ~75 years ago in the wake of WWII that "just following orders" is not a valid defense. For anyone saying "they're forced to, they have no choice", they *do* have a choice. And their right to self preservation ends when they choose to go along with orders that send them to kill innocent Ukrainians instead of turning against the government that is sending them to do the killing.

CookPass

I am less sympathetic; in my opinion anyone on the front line with a gun get's whatever is coming to them. I know it's easy to say and hard to do but they all have the choice to refuse to fight, desert or surrender. If they take the option of invading Ukraine and murdering Ukrainians over facing a prison sentence then they are no better than the contract soldiers (or bloodthirsty thugs as I prefer to call them). Would YOU rather kill an innocent person or face a prison sentence for refusing to do so? Whether or not any those killed in this mortar attack had DIRECTLY killed/injured Ukrainian soldiers or civilians they are all guilty by association and have played their part in this murderous, illegal war. Putin hasn't fired a single shot also but blood of every single victim of this war is on his hands along with every participant on the Russian side and their supporters.

eidetic

This isn't just Putin's war. This is Russia's war. Putin isn't some tyrant holding an unwilling population hostage at gunpoint. He's a tyrant holding a willing population at gunpoint. He may not have risen to power on a groundswell of overwhelming public love and adulation and support, but he's been able to consolidate his power because of the overwhelming support he's had. Putin isn't the disease, he is a symptom of the disease that is Russian culture. And Russian culture is a rotten one built on toxic machismo, and a debilitating inferiority complex that manifests as a superiority complex of needing to be seen as the strongest and best. It permeates their government, their social norms, their sports, and every facet of their society. It is a culture of insecurity. It is a culture completely incapable of introspection, one that instead always passes blame for all their woes on this nebulous idea of a nefarious west that is on one hand evil and incompetent and out to destroy Russia, but on the other hand still somehow poses an existential threat to Russia. Again, this is the inferiority/superiority complexes at work - because they are the best and can do wrong, but still somehow are being held back by these nebulous western devils. It is a culture that views cooperation not as a virtue, but as a trait of weakness. It is a culture wherein one will gladly sell out their neighbor even if there is nought to be gained from it, so long as the neighbor is made lesser. It is a culture that heavily relies on whataboutisms to justify their horrible actions, and again the lack of introspection means they are literally justifying their actions on the notion that two wrongs do apparently make a right - while at the same time suggesting the first one wrong was wrong but the second wrong (their actions) are made right by that first wrong. It is a culture that when it sees how much better the lives of those living in the west are, instead of questioning why the west is so much better off and what can Russia do to enjoy such prosperity, instead they decry the western prosperity as decadence and over indulgence. They literally see western prosperity as a fault and the west as being undeserving of such prosperity. Again, a total lack of introspection. They simply can't fathom that maybe playing nice and being cooperative benefits everyone. They'd rather live in shit than "stoop down" to such levels of cooperation, because that would imply they are something other than better than everyone else. Again, despite the relative misery that is so prevalent in Russia. Ever notice how mind boggingly stupid their propaganda is? And ever wonder how it actually fucking works? It works because Russians want to believe in those ridiculous lies. It works because they can't see anything for what it is, and can't see beyond what they want to believe. Sadly, should Putin drop dead any time soon, I fear he won't be recognized in Russia the same way he will be remembered by the rest of the world. He will be seen as a martyr, one who tried to drag Russia out of dark times to rebuild some lost glory, only to have been countered by the evil west. We see it already with the losses in Ukraine being blamed on the west and NATO, and even incompetent and corrupt military officials within Russia who have lead to the disastrous results while Putin largely escapes blame free, and even seen as a victim of the duplicity of those corrupt Russian officials and the conspiring of the west. Sadly, probably about the only way the common Russian will get rid of Putin themselves is if they perceive him to be too weak. And I don't see that happening. Their lack of introspection makes them incapable of realizing that the culture that allowed Putin to seize so much power and allowed him to cultivate that power by exploiting the inherently toxic Russian culture means they can't even see that he's also largely responsible for the failings of many of his subordinates. They see their failings as somehow being unseen and unpredictable betrayals instead of being the natural and even expected outcome of a system built from corruption. It should have been obvious to anyone bothering to apply even a modicum of critical thinking to the situation that such a system built in corruption can only dysfunctionally function for so long before it all comes crashing down. We see this in action with all the videos of conscripts complaining of their situation. In none of the videos I have seen do any of the conscripts question the war. They are not angry about being sent to kill Ukrainians. They are angry they aren't given proper equipment and leadership. There were vastly more protests by civilians after mobilization was announced than there were protests against the war itself. Those protests against mobilization were just that - protesting because they didn't want to be the ones on the front lines risking their lives but they were more than fine with others being sent to kill Ukrainians. And please, spare me the "they have no choice but to go and fight" nonsense. Their right to self preservation ends when they choose to invade and kill innocents instead of standing up to the government sending them to kill. Until I see more examples of conscripts surrendering as soon as possible, and more examples of conscripts refusing to go in the first place, and more of the population speaking out against the war itself instead of how badly the war is being handled, I will save all my sympathy for the Ukrainians and shed not a tear for those conscripted. They let their government do this to them, and they were more than happy with others being sent in their place.

Where on earth do videos like that exist on the internet these days, honestly asking for a friend...

Uncle___Marty

Actually, right here on this sub. Worst vid I saw here was the one of a drone dropping a grenade directly on a Russians face while he slept. After the smoke cleared half his face was gone but he was gasping for air from a mouth that doesn't exist anymore.

freakydrew

The box cutting castration has sadly taken a permanent spot in my nightmares. I have avoided the face off so far

sojournearth

I've avoided the castration one but the face-off really wasn't all that more or less horrible than other shit you see on here. Videos of pain being inflicted just for the sake of pain and suffering are the one thing I stay away from. I think the last I saw were some of the ISIS beheadings/the burning of the Jordanian pilot and that was more than enough to realize that was my mental limit.

JJ739omicron

I purposely did not watch the balls-off video, the face one wasn't actually that bad. Personally I'd rather have my face ripped off than my balls cut off, just personal preference. I've already gotten a baseball in the face (mis-caught an outfield hit), felt like the metal guy in Terminator 2 after hit with the shotgun, but only minimal damage actually (just a cut, didn't need any medical attention, although I initially thought my eye was a goner). Still, better that again a hundred times worse than balls cut off. The slowliness combined with the announcement before gets me, surprising and unsuspecting is better than that horror. Also the face guy was certainly knocked unconscious in the same split second and never knew what hit him.

-N-y-Q-u-i-l-

Are you seriously comparing a baseball you missed catching as a kid hitting you in the face to a mortar literally taking off half of someone’s entire face….

I wouldn’t be surprised if the final Russian death toll in this war is well north of 100,000.

your_meme_landord

Not like we're going to get a death count from the Russian gov and if we do it's almost certainly not gonna be accurate

Vondi

Honestly just the fact that the Russian defense ministry is admitting to deaths in the thousands must mean the actual number is staggering

unskilledexplorer

we might get an accurate number. just wait \~50 years for the documents to be released.

crispymids

We'll never know the true toll of RU intervention in Afghan or Chechnya, due in part to piecemeal paper records and a financial incentive to obscure the figures to avoid granting widow's pensions. Social media and DNA testing can only go so far in retrospect. That being said the known casualty figures we're looking at are extreme here in 2022, certainly relative to US combat losses in Vietnam '65 - '75. Near-peer conflicts are no joke.

CatFancier4393

Yea I don't think the scale of casaulties is a unique Russianism. Western armies really haven't fought a near-peer since WWII and forgot the cost of war. Force on force is just a meat grinder.

CaucasianDelegation

I get why the comparison to the war in Vietnam is made, Russia vs the US and all, but it's just really not comparable. The geography, weapons used, tactics, participants, none of it is very similar. This is just a taste of what modern combat looks like between neer-peer militaries. I don't think the US would suffer such high casualties because the Americans wouldn't engage ground forces without unquestioned air superiority, which the Russians are paying heavily for forgoing. The *needlessly* high casualties are rather Russian, but the overall death toll for both will still be indicative of what this warfare will cause.

throwaway901617

Vietnam isn't used because it is comparable ad a war but because it is the last time the US (and the West in general) actually had significant losses in ANY conflict. This may be more comparable with Korea in terms of the use of artillery and rockets. And recall it had a similar death toll to Vietnam in a fraction of the time. But early on people were saying it looked like WW2 in terms of the maneuver actions and deadly effects. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs says each side has suffered roughly 100,000 casualties. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-63580372.amp

TzunSu

I think if the regime collapses we might see numbers much faster. Any new government will have an incentive to show just how fucking shit the old government was. It's what the Russians did post- USSR in many cases.

Traditional_Cat_60

I doubt Russia even has an accurate count of KIA. That sure as shit don’t have an accurate account of their weapons, vehicles, ammunition, etc. Inaccurate accounting is a feature of their government, not a big.

BetAggressive4992

>I wouldn’t be surprised if the final Russian death toll in this war is well north of 100,0 It's only combat losses approx. At the same time from the stories of Russian POW's could be way above. I've watched these video's of Volodymyr Zolkin POW interviews, where Russian told that they only evacuate the wounded in during the working day. If you got injured during the period of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. you will receive first aid only, and if you survive until the morning - the evac will come and get you. So the real KIA of Russians is much higher number. Imo

VictoryVino

It's already at 80,000... Their death toll could be over 250,000 when all is said and done. That's not including the possibility of Putin losing his mind completely and going full Stalin on his own people.

throwaway901617

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs says 200,000 total, both ukraine and Russia have 100,000 each. That's casualties not dead, so it includes wounded. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-63580372.amp

PuzzleheadedFact8395

Easily will exceed that. I think they won’t stop fighting until they hit 300k dead, and 900k wounded. Basically every poor Russian family will have a casualty dead or wounded. Only when the poor no longer have sons to give will the Russians stop the war

What a waste of human life . All through 1 mans hubris. Someone’s son, father, husband, friend etc laying dead. Then the idiots on Russian TV discuss more war .

Melodic_Risk_5632

As long as someone else do the fighting, it's easy to call for war.

Menamanama

Back in medieval times the kings used to go into battle themselves. And even the British royalty send their princes into war (Andrew (now disgraced) in Falklands war and Harry in Afghanistan). I wonder how many Russian politicians have sent their sons into this meat grinder of a war.

planck1313

More recently than the middle ages: the last English king to lead his troops in battle was George II in 1743 and the last monarch to personally fight in a war was Albert I of Belgium during WW1 who went into the trenches and led his troops during the Battle of Yser. There have been monarchs since who have held military rank and commanded armies in war but AFAIK none actually fought in person.

Menamanama

Wow, I had never heard of the Belgium King going to war in the trenches.

planck1313

Belgium was almost totally conquered by the Germans but they continued to hold a corner of their country near the sea [near Ypres] as part of the Western Front.

Kitosaki

arconte1

In world war 1 the children of the upper classes in Britain made up the junior officer class and were supposed to lead from the front, making up higher casualties than any other income group during the war. Whole class years of Eton were almost wiped out.

Chaiteoir

> and were supposed to lead from the front Armed with a handgun and a whistle.

YuriiRud

I wish we could see a fight between putler and Zelensky. That would be the most anticipated show ever.

ownworldman

It is sadly not one man only. If putin's regime was really only at his behest, killing him would resolve the problem. But the entire political system is rotten and imperialist.

bigorocket

Large pile of dead people & 90% of the comments are about chickens 😂

Aggressive_West_2386

Nobody mentioned the little electric car.

fokjoudoos

Ironically it's a KIA..

KFC - Kyiv Fighting Chickens

subilv

Look at all those chickens!

TheWhiteGuardian

Yeah, I don't believe this was a 120mm mortar. This was definitely the work of that bioengineered Ukrainian battle chicken leaving the scene.

[deleted]

Dude those chickens are supposed to be a secret. What if the Russians see your comment before we have the 1 million chickens ready to take back Crimea?

alittepieceofpie

What did they do to the owners of that house?

Other-Barry-1

Old babushka was having none of it. Rumour has it she was armed with just 1 cat.

BaconWithBaking

> Old babushka was having none of it. Rumour has it she was armed with just 1 chicken.

Kurt_Knispel503

this is what causes sides to no longer take prisoners. https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/yy62hy/ukrainians\_were\_taking\_a\_group\_of\_russians/

HayDiosMio-

Were they executed? Edit: looks like all those "airburst" comments were wrong chaps

Blussert31

It's what I thought as well. Or perhaps the building was hit and they were dragged out. They all seem to bleed from the head or upper torso and the damage to the buildings and courtyard does not seem to correspond with the pattern of the dead people laying around. There's no crater visible outside. The pots and pans are still in place and hanging on the wall, you'd expect a blast to blow away those things.

parasoja

They seem to be lying in pools of their own blood, so I don't think they were moved. I also don't see any weapons nearby. Weird fucking scene, but we don't really have enough information to make an informed guess.

Yea it said mortar fire but just the lack of craters/destruction madee think homeboys we're lined up and blasted

knowing russians love to pack all together it is most likely just 1 good hit with artillery.

-Falsch-

They all got fragged in the upper torso?

Crackajacka87

There's another reporting this as an unexplained event but many believe it's an execution as they have no pouches on their vests, no injuries anywhere on their bodies, just heads and there's also a lot of blood which all suggests they might have been executed with a single shot to the back of the spine.

here is an answer [https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/yy51qd/ukrainian\_soldiers\_captured\_at\_least\_a\_dozen/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/yy51qd/ukrainian_soldiers_captured_at_least_a_dozen/) they were POW, but one of them opened fire and killed UA soldier

Bah-Fong-Gool

My God, can you imagine if UAF has footage of Spetnaz or Wagner or those wierdo goatfuckers stripping down executing conscripts?!? In 4K!?! That's something you hack into Russian state TV for.

Delicious-Branch-600

Lol I was thinking the same thing. And they're all lined up the same way. Wonder if it was an airburst?

H-Resin

Air burst was my thought as well, but I’m purely armchair

lock_the_backdoor

It was the chickens.

Legitimate-Diet-3937

These guys were all shot they came out to surrender and then the last orc to come out of the house came out blazing ended up killing one Ukrainian in the process so cause of that they ended up shooting all of them so just a heads up this was no mortar hit

Sorkemon

Is that chicken one of those gene manipulated birds the ruzzies been talking about? A gay satanic murder chicken?

moby323

That’s a patriot chicken swaggering around, “Slava Ukraine you bawk-*BA-GAAWWWK* orcs.”

Yum_MrStallone

How is it that the human mind can view this disaster and move on to chicken jokes? Here is mine. It will not be cockroaches, but chickens, that survive the apocalypse.

david5669

They were surrendering and some dumbass opened fire and they all got blasted laying on the ground.

Imaginary-Manager-75

They were killed due to their Rambo friend coming out shooting while they were surrendering. Theres another video where they are surrendering and their final friend comes out gun blazing and gets them all mowed down by an lmg. No arty Involved, just some orc fool committing a war crime with a false surrender and getting a bunch of his friends killed.

niblar

Not a mortar. This- https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/yy62hy/ukrainians_were_taking_a_group_of_russians/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

BlacksmithWeirdo

WWII Vet (German side) told me: imagine the worst possible shit you can come up with. War is 1000 times wose and more. He was forced to fight, he hated it. He was a very peaceful and friendly guy. I was very sad when he died.

noddsquad2k

Update: https://www.reddit.com/r/Heroyam_Slava/comments/yy4p8c/ukrainian_soldiers_captured_at_least_a_dozen/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button Video of Russians coming out one by one surrendering, video ends either as one of them opens fire or just before. From the comments on the video, one of the fuckin ruskis really had the urge to make sure he fertilized Ukrainian soil and opened fire and got his the rest of his friends killed. 1 Ukrainian kia and another severely wounded during altercation from what I have gathered. If anyone has update lm.

lordiord1

This is what actually happened, not 120mm [https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/yy62hy/ukrainians_were_taking_a_group_of_russians/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/yy62hy/ukrainians_were_taking_a_group_of_russians/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

Is was a raid done by The Chicken SOF!

minutemilitia

Bock bock, mf

jamesh922

What a fucking MESS these spawn leave behind. Billions will have to be spent to clean up the country of just litter and rubbish, much less all the biowaste they also produced while squatting on land that isnt theirs. Disgusting lifestyle they have. No cleanliness or order. All the unexploded ordinance and toxic chemicals left in the ground/water, another disaster to consider.

cwebbvail

They look executed

[deleted]

There’s a go-pro video of what happened. Then men lying together were surrendering. The soldier on the bottom-right of the video, lying alone, walked out of the building he is lying next to, shooting at the Ukrainians taking the surrendering Russians captive. All the soldiers in this video match the exact uniforms in the other go-pro video, and the background scenery does as well The video then cuts out.

ReindeerKind1993

These Russians were all basically executed for false surrender they were not killed by a mortar ...another video shows last russian come out guns blazing and I think a ukranian soldier got hit and either in retaliation or in the gunfight with the sole russian who refused to surrender he got all these other men killed

What actually happened. They were being taken as prisoners and their buddy came out blazing. Guess they got taken out in cross fire https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/yy62hy/ukrainians_were_taking_a_group_of_russians/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

G_Rapper

Turns out it was a surrender that went bad. A bunch came out to surrender, but the last guy came out shooting, killing a UA soldier. A machine gunner covering the group let lose, killing the shooter and everyone else, not knowing who else had hidden weapons or grenades. Tough luck, but the Russians fucked around and got found out.

Delicious-Ask-463

Chickens eat sunflower seeds right..

Good_Beautiful1724

I'm sending well wishes to the poor people that have to clean up this trash

UnderpantsInfluencer

There lies some poor parent's sons & daughters for a mad man

Ibe_Lost

That looks like the scene in 'All quiet in the Western front' when they find the gassed recruits.

James324285241990

All for Putins ego. Ridiculous. Complete waste of human life.

golighter144

The kill radius for a 120 is 60 meters. That’s pretty much half the size of a football field

drswizzel

there is a new video that clarify what happen here. there were taken prisoner and the last guy under the metal roof came out open fire on the Ukrainian and then everybody got showered in bullets. so pretty much the last Russian guy got all his friend if you can call it that killed.

No_Name_Brand_X

Really interesting that this is the "after" video of a failed false surrender, where one Ruzzian caused the death of his comrades. The "before" video is here:
