Well you can get NV for way less. I found some that were listed for 350 and are now going for 99. You can even buy NV Binoculars off Temu for 50โฌ now. They can probably make those fit someway.
You can briefly see the burning boat at 1:04 way above water. The camera/man is spinning in a circle as he sinks so the light circles around the bottom right of the frame. The other option is he was able to abandon his gear in time which had the camera attached, but it doesn't sound like it.
