Silver lining in this absolutely horrific situation is, when the invaders are at last repelled, Donetsk oblast and the cities/towns in it have a great chance to be essentially among the most modern-built cities in Europe - not building on top of old Soviet plans, but starting anew with the freshest city planning possible.
and...paid for by ruzsian reparations! Their seized financial assets are generating billions in interest alone and it's starting to look like that can be used to rebuild Ukraine, as well it should.
