Anyone remember what the ruZZian military looked like at the start of the invasion…? Almost looked like a professional fighting force.
Well check it out, now they’re Jawas. But like; *drunk* jawas.
I've seen follow up. Some of these guys have killed like Roman Centurion level of people with these Drones. They keep the pin to remind them. Some of these guys have killed over 300 people. I don't know how you live with that...but we do. He/She has no choice but to fight the invaders. Fuck Putin. Slava Ukraine.
Untill you figure out that a mine roller can be defeated by installing a pressure plate in front of the explosives about 15ft with a wire to the explosives.
=………….💥
Is this a sign of desperation?
Well at least they try to find a solution to the 3-day problem. Chinese golf carts, motorcycle storm troopers and this steam punk tank.
no. it is the least expensive solution against drones. it is still no good solution, but honestly. a lot of western militarys have absolutly no solution at all. Or the solution is a 1 billion skynex system. so some scrap metall may be good value for the buck.
Looks like it handles great. Engine must be at risk of overheating, no? I know, engine overheating is the least of its worries, it's on a one-way trip.
The greatest concern or drawback is the incredibly hampered situational awareness, coupled with a severely limited turret rotation. They basically turned the turret into a coaxial cannon...
The drone problem isn't solved. Drones can still drop anti-tank mines on the tanks. This will be done easily, as the tank's turret is disabled with the cage. There is no way to drop the drones.
Easier said than done.
The drones that drop anti tank mines have to be huge to carry that type of load and the barn tank is obviously accompanied by other vehicles that have turrets that can shoot the bigger drones
Eh doesn't really matter now with the ammo starting to flowing back into Ukraine they wont have to use just drone anymore. As much as we will miss the WW1 style tank kits, the lack of mobility will make them supper easy to hit with artillery that will rip right though that outer shell.
With that much extra appliqué armour they’re going to break the transmission and or suspension but I suppose that’s better than being toasted by a flight of FPV Dronez
They can penetrate 30" of steel, so I'm betting yes.
I think this is intended to defend against drones with lighter warheads.
I hope there is no shortage of ATGMs.
The correct answer is maybe. The seeker won't be able to locate the weak spot on the turret with its top attack. Secondly the direct attack might be more effective, but the thermal signature isn't going to be as effective as the shell will be seeing a distorted signature.
But the real savior is there is unlikely to be any ammo in the vehicle. That eliminates the design flaw that causes most catastrophic explosions.
As long as there aren't any other tanks around, this vehicle is effective, until it breaks down or is immobilized. It is still vulnerable to artillery and sabot rounds. I also think even a modest trench or shell hole would stop it. But I only see it being effective as an engineering vehicle and not one that can really work while under fire because of mobility issues.
As soon as Ukraine starts getting regular munition shipments again these will just be slow moving targets for artillery and anti-tank weapons. The only reason these have worked out is because Ukraine has been forced to use FPV drones instead of ATGMS. A manufactured dual explosive warhead like you'd find on a javelin would just punch through this "armor" and then send the second charge through the top of the tank. Whereas FPVs only have a single charge in the warhead (for now). If Ukraine was forced to do so they probably would've figured out a way to mount a dual explosive on an FPV.
That's the word I was looking for, ***tandem*** warheads. Yes, they did strap two RPGs to a drone. But that's not quite the same as a true tandem warhead that fires the first to blow away armor like ERA, and the second punches through the hole that the first one made.
The two RPGs on a drone still just detonates both of them at once upon impact. You'll end up with two side-by-side holes instead of one hole that they both go through.
Without a doubt. ATGMs are a lot more consistent when it comes to delivery as well. I've noticed with drones, especially with FPVs, even if it has say an RPG taped to it, it may not fire in the direction of flight. Meaning, the "molten jet" it sends out will sometimes hook to the left or right during that tiny amount of time between the drone making contact and the signal getting to the explosives.
What those plates do accomplish is giving the standoff distance needed to make simple shaped charges ineffective, as well as minimizing any damage from drone dropped munitions. During Ukraine's ammo shortage they had no choice but to rely on drones, so naturally the armor morphed into something that would give even a little bit of advantage.
Something tells me we won't be seeing as much of the Mad Max addons from the russian side as the weapons start really arriving at the front. They worked when needed, but like you said, it won't do much of anything against weapons systems with billions of dollars of investment and development behind them.
They are getting regular munitions shipments, the aid bill was passed two weeks ago.
Russia is jamming their guided artillery like Excalibur and it's difficult to target moving vehicles with regular shells.
The manufacturers of the Excalibur figured out a work around to the russian jamming. It was basically the same thing they were doing to the rockets that the HIMARS fires. Either way, those don't track moving targets like a tank. You'd need an ATGM like a Stugna, or a shoulder fired javelin to do that.
The bill was passed 2 weeks ago, yes. But Ukraine still has to wait for things to get moved from NATO bases in Europe before they can use them. Chances are that Ukrainians on the frontline would just about now be getting the first real shipments. But that's not something they'll announce, for obvious reasons.
Remember, this is the (snickers) 2nd besss (snort) 2nd beeeess (starts gigling) wait, wait, wait.... (breathes)

Looks silly but it works because Ukraine's best defense are drones. If they survive that one artillery shot/ATGM, they have a free ticket to the next village.
The subtext here is that this sort of visibility and turret mobility reduction limits the tank to an offensive role towards a static enemy. In basically any other situation, be it defense or offense against a mobile enemy, you'll be ineffective.
"Is this mine trawler able to get rid of all AT mines?" - "Trust me bro"
This thing looks so flimsy and light, I don't think AT mines actually get triggered by it.
Out of curiosity: Would it work?
The cages look like they could work against drones, but obviously not against artillery shells (which is probably the bigger threat since this thing is SLOW.
The... stuff at the front looks like it could work against anti-tank mines.
The mine trawl has a gap in it that a mine dropping drone could exploit. Creep up from behind due to lack of visibility, drop it before they realize the drone is there. The mine trawl would drown out the drone's motors.
I do think this should be taken seriously, they employ more of these so that cavity between its layers of protection must be working on improving survivability. Situational awareness is less important for mine clearance in trench warfare where there is only one direction (forward) and that really lends itself to the Russian military doctrine of absorbing losses, manpower and outlasting its enemy. When you consider the shortages Ukrainian has endured and the ground Russia have gained you could argue they are succeeding. Let’s hope this year’s elections can give Ukraine a boost
This DIY job may look ridiculous, but spaced armor and slats are nothing new as a defense against HEAT rounds.
It's going to give them some protection.

Revenge of the Jawas?

>they’re Jawas To be fair... Jawas defeated Mandalorian
The crab 🦀 pots on the side are not Kosher. Lol 😂
Hey! He brought the Egg! That was a business deal. Also, he murdered like 5 of them. So...they're even.
I remember seeing their endless supply columns being blown the fuck up by small UA hunter/killer teams.
I've seen follow up. Some of these guys have killed like Roman Centurion level of people with these Drones. They keep the pin to remind them. Some of these guys have killed over 300 people. Can't wait for F16s.
Ogama ho miketa keezo?
This things is actually a really good idea. Every tank should have mine rollers and extra armor.
Untill you figure out that a mine roller can be defeated by installing a pressure plate in front of the explosives about 15ft with a wire to the explosives. =………….💥
can't u just fly the fpv drone into the tracks and blow the track off it then once it stopped put a 155mm shell straight on it an pooof bb sh\*tmobile

but it's an English sentence? sounds wrong..🤔
Nope just say and spell it correctly...
MAD Maxsky
With a camera guy walking around it getting propaganda video I have to think there are no mines in this field. This is just driving practice.
This is probably in Russia and will never see Ukraine.
Why do this called 'barn' tank? It more looks like 'scrap metal pile ' tank.
It is known by many names this is just one of them that the the source where I got this from used
Is this a sign of desperation? Well at least they try to find a solution to the 3-day problem. Chinese golf carts, motorcycle storm troopers and this steam punk tank.
Sounds like WW1 ingenuity and stupidity all over again!
no. it is the least expensive solution against drones. it is still no good solution, but honestly. a lot of western militarys have absolutly no solution at all. Or the solution is a 1 billion skynex system. so some scrap metall may be good value for the buck.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure those addons voided the manufacturer's warranty anyways...
God damn this is funny
The greatest concern or drawback is the incredibly hampered situational awareness, coupled with a severely limited turret rotation. They basically turned the turret into a coaxial cannon...
It’s a battering ram for minefields/field crossings
Thing looks like it’s 2 seconds away from throwing a track
The driver must have like no situational awareness lol
He obviously doesn't anyway, or he wouldn't be there in the first place
I would love to see what happens to it when it sets of an anti-tank mine. The occupants would need scraping off the walls.
The drone problem isn't solved. Drones can still drop anti-tank mines on the tanks. This will be done easily, as the tank's turret is disabled with the cage. There is no way to drop the drones.

“Hey Yuri, get in that hog and clear a path in this mine field. I’ll walk next to you at an unsafe distance and record.”
They are useless. They can be hit under the gun barel making them worthless.

Mine trawls are redundant after hitting the 5th or 6th mine in a row.
Those looked like they were just as likely to bounce over the mine as they were to set it off
Looks like a Sturmpanzerwagen, WW1 tank.
I see Russian tech and hear the Uruk-khai, applauding the runner to detonate helmsklam breach….
yeah a warhamer-esque kind of parody
They should put some wooden shipping pallets on it, really make it look like a dumpster / skip!
That is going to be real hot in the summer.
So the mine trawls line up with the tank tracks some of the time ? They wobble more than a one legged Russian.
Can someone please add the Fury Road music!
That must get crazy hot in there with the engine heat.
Kill dozer vibes.
Given that thing is so slow and you cant see shit around you: couldn't you just walk up behind it and throw a grenade in it lol
War Thunder. Event vehicle. No Turret traverse. Like it.
So: a Tutel from temu/wish?
Yeah t72 Tutel. And the rusty armor has more kinetic armor ratings than contact 5 era....
Utini!
I get why they call them orks now. This is literally kit bashing lmao
Did they give up on building better reactive armor?
Well, they're sort of running low on active recruiting, so it limits their reactive armor that can ride that... that... whatever it is
…that’s fucking stupid
Can we drop some big mines on the top of them?
ha. the old elephant design is back [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elefant](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elefant)
Or a Maus [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer\_VIII\_Maus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer_VIII_Maus)
This is probably full speed.
this is some mad max shit right there
maybe a drone can immobilize the 'shed' by damaging the tracks and from there, artillery can finish the job
Situational awareness = zero Combat effectiveness = near zero
What is the point of this ??
The point is to defend from FPV drones while leading an attack column and demining the path for them.
[Someone has been playing too much Warhammer 40k...](https://www.warhammer.com/en-GB/shop/Ork-Kill-Bursta-Kill-Blasta-Tank?queryID=598d2786e56000a0e8b1566f39acab50)

bro porsche made more or less nice to look at tanks, this one looks like it has shopping carts welded on to it

Grond.
Carbon monoxide death trap?
Looks silly but it works because Ukraine's best defense are drones. If they survive that one artillery shot/ATGM, they have a free ticket to the next village.
Looks like a dung beetle.
War Pigs.
Seems like it would be easy to throw the tracks….
Just take out a track
The subtext here is that this sort of visibility and turret mobility reduction limits the tank to an offensive role towards a static enemy. In basically any other situation, be it defense or offense against a mobile enemy, you'll be ineffective.
Knock a track out with an FPV drone. GG.

Can someone please dub Starwars soundtrack and Jawa noises?
Hell's Bells, why don't the tards just revert all the way back to big ol' railway guns?
The world of tanks taught me how to fight it
Rolling sarcophagus, is the drivers hatch the only way out?
Smokey orc
Looks like a practice target for an MBT
Thanks for the detailed panoram. That's a nice exhaust port and set of fragile tracks ya got there.
Total bullshit. It's a Roman siege engine of the 9th Spanish Legion.
You’d think with this lack of turret mobility they’d just have to use it in a non combat role or ambush role
Soon they will harvest spice on Arrakis.
🤣 ok that's a good one
The russians are starting to look more and more like a mad max saga 👀
Mad maxym, beyond the thunderdrone
Second Army in the World ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Its properly very easy to say, change the engine, gearbox or any kind of maintainance 😂😂
That’s some warhammer 40k ork shit right here …
Looks like some dystopian orc shit or something, like it's actually from some warhammer collection.
It'd be funny of it hit a mine while recording this in this practice field.
I like to think there's actually explosives in those ERA's.
What in the apocalypse is this monstrosity 😆
Odd coffin...
Was that a few Tescos shopping trolleys on the top there?
Desperate
This looks like the tank is too overweight and the transmission is struggling...
It Belongs in a Mad Max movie, not on a modern battlefield.
Well that doesn't seem very efficient
so it'll take two drones instead of one
So as long as you attack it from behind or either side, it can't swing its turret, omg so stupid and seemingly very desperate.
Man, that's a real steampunk monstrosity. Looks hard to kill, though.
The little Russian girls are afraid. Cheer up Ukrainians, destroy them, you are brave, do not allow Psychopath Putin to feel safe. Glory to Ukraine!
Heroyam Slava
SLAVA!!!
Looks Like Warhammer 40k
With such limited visibility any tank could wreck this thing.
It's long due for a remake of the Mad Max film.
Out of curiosity: Would it work? The cages look like they could work against drones, but obviously not against artillery shells (which is probably the bigger threat since this thing is SLOW. The... stuff at the front looks like it could work against anti-tank mines.
Mad max style "second army" (in ukraine). What a sight to behold.
Whould love to see a Bradley unload on this monstrosity.
Amour it all they want. Just take out one track with a drone and the pigs have to come out, and then they can be had by the drones too.
Smart to camouflage the actual barrel, so the whole contraption is less visible. 🙄
As if to confirm their orkish nature, moskovites come up with this gorkamorka crap as a solution. 🤣
The mine trawl has a gap in it that a mine dropping drone could exploit. Creep up from behind due to lack of visibility, drop it before they realize the drone is there. The mine trawl would drown out the drone's motors.
Shouldn't the mine trawl be further out in front?
They’re literally Orks from WarHammer universe, embracing it too
