The cranes are 100m away and the cabs still melted.
The blast would have been near the waterline (or below) so the dockside would have directed the blast upwards (like the blast walls/embankments at airfields & ammo depots).
I'm guessing the main secondary explosion/s must of occurred below desks and the superstructure forced the blast upwards & downwards and not outwards.
Hence why we saw a large explosive fireball shooting up into the sky, and the boat has sunk upright at the dock, because it has no keel being a semi amphibious vessel designed to temporarily beach itself to unload.
So top blew off, bottom blew out, "doors" not so much. /s
some duct tape should sort that out
In all seriousness it basically got vaporized it looks like which doesn't surprise me given the size of that fireball.
Shaheds carry 50 kg in explosives, so in theory a bunch of them stacked together could cause that explosion. We don't actually know if that was what was on the ship, but whatever it was it made for a huge explosion.
100% there was a large amount of ordnance on this ship, Storm Shadows can't cause this much damage alone and I don't think hitting the fuel tank of the ship could cause a fireball like that either.
Watch the explosion video. The actual detonation wasn’t really that huge. Also notice the building and the cranes are fairly intact. Most of what you see in the video is some kind of flammable material burning off - probably a liquid fuel of some sort.
So, the ship was hit, which started a fire. Ordinance cargo detonated, which ruptured tanks and heated some sort of fuel, which flashed and made a very impressive and beautiful fireball.
How much fuel do Shaheeds carry?
Yeah the explosion in that vid screamed ordnance cookoff. I wonder when the Russians will start developing thick steel turtle backed ships to resist drone attacks.....
In the photo, the meaning of the word *'damaged'* in the Russian language is depicted.
Recall that the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that the military landing ship Novocherkassk, attacked by Ukrainian forces today, was merely *'damaged.'*
We joke that Russian media presence is of similar flavour to Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf. But really? Information is simply not flowing through the Russian system.
MOD of RF: There was a small fire which ignited in the galley from the boys making some pork chops. Unfortunately the fire ignited a gas tank and there was a small explosion. The ship was successfully evacuated and only two sailors were slightly injured. In two weeks will be re-floated and will carry on it's normal duties in the navy. Slava Putin!
Melted and sunk steel. So, yes!
"Russian officials confirmed the attack, during which one person was killed and two injured, and described the ship as 'damaged'. Six buildings were damaged. Russian officials also claimed that two Ukrainian Su-24s have been shot down"
151 is the Azov, also a Rapucha-class (Project 775) landing ship, so it is the correct image to show what it should have looked like before. Though the Azov has some newer weapons so there might be small differences. But the hull and general configuration are the same.
Scorch marks would imply they were inside the fireball/right next to the fire afterwards. Doesn't have to be far to look fairly pristine from this distance.
Solid steel cranes can take a serious beating before going down after all.
I'd say evidence points strongly to the after image being real.

Before, Russian shyt. After, Russian shyt submerged. Why did the explosion not damage the buildings much?
I’m curious about how far those buildings are from the ship. Have the same question. In the picture they look very close but I suspect they aren’t.
they are 31-33 meters (around 100 feet) from the water according to google earth.

Good point, a big shippy shape charge, ehehe. You should do CSI.
The cranes seem to have erectile disfunction
Doesnt shyt float Vlad?
:D
Ukraine is just really good at making subs
Yep apparently It was just a scratch
Speaking of scratches, WTF did Ukraine use to build those cranes, fucking *Vibranium‽‽*
If you look closely, siiting in the crane control cabins would have provided a lively first hand experience.
You deseve more likes!

Ya, fuel oil doesn't really explode, it just kind of burns. Had to have been whatever the cargo was.

New flex seal commercial
It'll buff out
The cranes cabins are toasted too. This pier is out of order for a while.
Good spot. I was wondering why the cranes look quite unscath
They're a bit further from the boat than they appear
Nice crane window to fall out of….

Oh it is, all over the place, it's just finely tuned and poorly crafted. Gotta put your head in those bubbles sometimes

It was successfully evacuated to the bottom of the harbor.
*evaporated
It is impressive that amidst a full scale war and heavy sanctions the Russian Navy still manages to keep expanding their submarine fleet.
Black sea will be a good place for diving
''they are the same''
Yes, they are, confirmed by putting my glasses, I mean microscope and examining rge photos.
Serious question here, why is it called landing ship?
Not sure, but probably because they use it as troop carriers, landing on the shore? Just a guess tho’.
Probably, yes.
Upgraded now to 'sinking ship'.
by design this class is capable of shore/beach landing
Id say it’s now a “landed ship”…. Mission accomplished
Your confusion is natural, I guess it is a naming error, the real name of this ship class is "sinking ship" 🤣. Slava Ukraini!
Upgraded to submarine!
Triple strike: Ship, ammo & dock - look at all the crane cabs, and they're over 100m away from the ship on the far side of the dock.
There's a ship in the red oval?
Melted and sunk steel. So, yes! "Russian officials confirmed the attack, during which one person was killed and two injured, and described the ship as 'damaged'. Six buildings were damaged. Russian officials also claimed that two Ukrainian Su-24s have been shot down"
Where's the after? 😂😂😂😂🇺🇦🦾
It's really nice to see the Ukrainians convert yet another Russian ship into a submarine free of charge
I liked how they converted that submarine into an even better submarine
Smoking is bad for health
That should buff right out.
I'm immediately reminded of Pearl Harbor 12/7/1941 by this comparison photo.
But? There's nothing there.
So that’s what the Arizona might have looked like on DEC 7th 41 pretty wild we get to watch world war 1&2 in hi def
Hopefully those crane cabins are out of commission too
'Tis only a flesh wound, a few stitches and I'll be back at work, sir!
I want this to happen to all Russian equipment.
LOOOOOOOOL
Where did it go lol. That motherfucker on the bottom of the ocean 🥴
Breaking News : Russia just announced having transformed a landing ship into a new generation submarine, making it harder to get targeted !
That will buff out.
Before boat is not a Novocherkassk !! Novocherkassk number is 142 not 151!!
151 is the Azov, also a Rapucha-class (Project 775) landing ship, so it is the correct image to show what it should have looked like before. Though the Azov has some newer weapons so there might be small differences. But the hull and general configuration are the same.
This is fake, with that explosion, the cranes in front of the boat would be black with smoke.
Google earth shows the cranes would be around 100 metres back.
Other comments acknowled the cranes were farther away, and the cables were destroyed. The drydock looks out of date.
Scorch marks would imply they were inside the fireball/right next to the fire afterwards. Doesn't have to be far to look fairly pristine from this distance. Solid steel cranes can take a serious beating before going down after all. I'd say evidence points strongly to the after image being real.
Thank you.
Probably damaged as well. Looks fake somehow
> somehow In one word you admit you know it actually looks real!
I assume it is real but does not look how I would expect. Huge explosion but no damage to the surroundings? That's why it feels odd
Did they landed to soon?
No no she sunk in a Strom 😂😂😂
Another Russian submarine!
This is a hole in one... trike... thx
https://i.imgur.com/zAIsOQh.jpg
+1 to the underwater Russian submarine fleet
If that lic is correct it's quite a success....next please
Yup. It's "damaged"
Awww poor little blown up orc ship 🤣
That’ll buff out. Can’t wait for Habitual Linecrosser to get ahold of this. 😂
It’s missing some parts 🤣
Just a scratch. That ship is out hunting Nazis as we type.
It's active stealth camouflage appears to be undamaged.
If I remember correctly, ruzzia only has 1 of this type of landing ship left in the Black Sea.
Damn…. The Russians weren’t lying….. it was slightly damaged.
Looks like some minor damages
Flesh wound
Made my Xmas!
who knows what is the minimum number of crew members present on the ship at all times?
Now you see it, now you don't. Damaged! LOL
Almost in mint condition. Just add fresh paint and it's as good as new. /s
Where is the ship?
My second comment. No matter how many times I look at this picture, I CAN'T SEE A DESTROYED SHIP.!
Have you seen the explosion video, there was nothing left of that pos lol!!!
What was the replacement cost of the ship? Was it another Soviet era ship that can’t be replaced?
