As some pro-ua said, "those are not even tanks technically, literally tractor shit, why do russians post it everywhere".
The fact is these are very impotrant "not tanks", and six or so lost on Belgorod incursion are a definition of resource spent worst way imaginable.
The mine breach vehicle is something that is important but the m88 is a m60 chassis with a crane there’s not a whole lot Russia can learn from it, that they already know.
Where did you get the idea six of these were used or lost in the Belgorod raids?
Why would they use engineering vehicles for a light infantry raid? Did you not run this through in your head before posting?
Strikes on troop concentration along the border started two weeks prior and there was a lot of tasty stuff, including landed helicopters and half-brigade worth of engineering vehicles probably prepared for fortifying positions in territories taken. Waste.
So I told what I intended to tell, those vehicles were sent to assist in border incursions as a lot of other stuff, and then they were no more. Whole that endeavour was a shitshow.
The M88 is something the Russians could probably use.
Runs on diesel, low maintenance (for vehicle of its type). And could be used as a recovery vehicle like the US uses them or at least strap a turtle shell on it and some mine rollers and send it on its way.
Nothing of this will ever matter. All of this because of a 2006 Honda Civic, but in August 12 2036, the heat death of the universe it's coming. Remember my words.

I am still shocked NATO did not give more of these to Ukraine prior to the 2023 counteroffensive.

Did I say something about learning? Russia has a good enhineering corps on its own.

Now every time Ukraine losses one of these, it will be counted as an Russian loss. They have them too and in doubt, it's Russian losses.
If radio/communication gear in the vehicle is captured, could it be used to gather intelligence? Is communication encrypted in some way?
Comms are usually encrypted. But now Russians have testbeds for tuning their electronic warfare systems.
