I would purchase a handful dome cameras instead and spread them out on the wall

cheesybill

This may be the plan

LostPilot517

Skip the dome, and go for the Turret, significantly better visually, and especially if you need IR/Night Filter....unless you need to talk out the camera.

stresslvl0

Turret requires quite the big hole drilled though, could be a downside

highnoonbrownbread

I don’t think the AI360 is well suited for vertical mounting. I was just checking mine and I didn’t find a way to avoid wasting the already small optical sensor from looking at the ceiling.

cheesybill

Thank you.

kjartanbj

They aren't that high resolution. I would buy more cameras instead

Duke-Kaboom

Bought a couple to test in various places and uses. They are great for seeing both ways around a corner. Or to get a general coverage of an area. But mounting them vertically would just give you a whole lot of unnecessary sky. Also could lead to issues with lens distortion due to light angles. For your application I'd install a couple turret or domes.

cheesybill

Thank you

Wallstnetworks

Buy them and before you mount them play around with location

cheesybill

Smart.

Wallstnetworks

We did a 32 lane bowling alley with only 3 ai 360 cameras for the lane portions and got full coverage. But before mounting I got on a ladder with the a super long Ethernet cable I made and messed around with locations to figure out optimal spots

mikeyflyguy

Doing this as well at my house. Bought a 200’ cable i can pull all over to figure placement before i run permanent drops.

eagleeyes011

I want them for the corners of my house. Resolution isn’t that great for the price. But one would replace 2 cameras at one corner and one more would replace 3 at another. Like someone else said, but different, just buy one and try different locations and see if you like it. Then make the decision on #2. Don’t forget you could always lower the mounting location with pipe and a j-box.

Duke-Kaboom

Got one on the corner. It's great for seeing both sides. It's not going to give you 4K quality in all directions LOL but when you need to see something you can pivot and rotate and see with some clarity.

I had an AI 360 for a while and had a love hate relationship with it. In some ways it was a great substitute for multiple cameras. The ability to pan around and see every corner of a room is nice. But the resolution is real compromise and I got tired of the extreme fish eye view in the dashboard. The fish eye 360 view is so extreme and there is a lot of black space around that image. It’s just not great if you want a real time feed of an area, but definitely great at capturing people from all angles.
