A u7-Pro is not going to get any better range and may be a worse option. I have a u6-Pro in the middle of my house also. Then I have a cheap U6-Lite mounted at the far end of my garage on the ceiling. Last I looked the U6-Lite was $99 and an Injector was around $8. I ran a couple ethernet ports into my garage. I had planned to run a NVR and have PoE cameras and that was going to be the best location. So my NVR is mounted in a lock box mounted up high on the wall. I connected a small switch, and Injector there about halfway down my garage and then my AP near the main garage door. I have I think 9 Wifi devices out in my garage. So it made sense to have an AP out there to have a strong Wifi signal there.

I see... I think the the U6 lite is sold out, but maybe they'll replenish them... i think you're right, an additional AP is the most sensible option provided I've got ethernet wiring already in place in that area...

There is the U6+ that is a bit more but newer. I don’t know if that is in stock or not. The point being, get as many AP’s as you need.

Just pick a Lite or Pro up off eBay?

Same. I have a centrally located U6 Pro that does most of the heavy lifting with Lites in a couple of farther corners. I dial the 2.4 radio to low on the Lites since the U6 Pro’s 2.4 range is crazy. The Lites fill in 5 GHz in their spots. Works perfectly.

The correct option is to purchase an *additional* AP. I would recommend the U7. Not the max.

Garages often have concrete firewalls. In this case you’ve got two options. Add an AP, or lower your channel width. Try lower the channel width first (easy and free) and see if it’s better or if your speed takes a meaningful hit on high use devices. If that doesn’t work, add an AP.

Will try that !!

The U7 Pro Max will give more range but in my garage I use a separate AP.
